Choose the format before the finish: 13 or 23 cm for a low wall or a passageway, 40 or 80 cm to line a path. The wooden LED outdoor spotlights in this selection all share an IP44 rating and a two-year warranty; the beige finish dominates the selection. What changes from one model to another is the socket, GU10 or G9, and the size visible in the garden.

What is a wooden LED outdoor spotlight and what light does it give?
A wooden outdoor spotlight dresses a light point with a warm material and lights a specific area rather than the whole terrace. In this selection, the wood is sometimes alone, sometimes combined with another material. All models are IP44, with a GU10 or G9 bulb to be supplied.
The result depends mostly on the bulb you fit: the fixture does not provide it. A light beige wood on a white wall reflects a soft light during the day and keeps a discreet presence once switched on.
Wood alone or wood combined: how to tell them apart?
The two Oak models are in wood, with no other material on the body. The two Madera models combine wood with a second material, with a fabric part. Each product page gives the exact composition, the dimensions and the socket: that is what decides, not the photo. If solid wood is a criterion, read that mention before ordering.
Tube or cylinder: which shape for which result?
The tube shape dominates the selection and gives a clean vertical line, easy to align along a wall. The large 80 cm Oak spotlight plays a different card, rounder, which marks the vertical less and stands out by its height. For a very understated result, the narrow shapes of wooden spotlights go unnoticed by day.
Where to install a wooden LED outdoor spotlight?
On a terrace, along a path or near an entrance, and also indoors: kitchen, hallway or living room. Beige wood warms a light wall, cladding or render. The IP44 rating covers water splashes, without immersion.
The rooms listed on each product page range from outdoor to bathroom, via the hallway and living room. This lets a terrace spotlight and a hallway spotlight share the same material.
On a terrace or along a path
Allow one point every two to three metres to avoid marked shadow areas, keeping the wood visible from the path. A tall format sets the scene, a compact format lights the feet. If you are looking to aim precisely at a wall or a panel, look instead at models that can be tilted: the four wooden spotlights on this page are not listed as adjustable.
In an entrance, a hallway or a kitchen
Near a door, a 13 to 23 cm model is enough and does not get in the way. In a covered hallway, the same size works above a low piece of furniture. In the kitchen, a compact spotlight complements kitchen lighting, and a 23 cm model can be placed near a worktop as a complement under the wall units.
Which socket to choose between GU10 and G9 for a wooden outdoor spotlight?
Both sockets coexist in the selection. GU10 equips the Oak models, with 15 W max on the large format and 50 W max on the compact one. G9 equips the two Madera models, at 28 W max. The choice therefore depends on the bulb you already have or want to fit, not on the style.
GU10 on the Oak models, from 15 W max to 50 W max
GU10 is the most common socket in outdoor lighting, which makes replacement easier. Watch out when reading the product pages: 15 W max on Oak Bois and 50 W max on the compact Oak indicate the power the fixture can handle, not the bulb consumption. A few-watt LED is more than enough.
G9 on the Madera models, 28 W max
G9 is smaller and fits into narrow bodies, which explains its presence on the two Madera models. Allow one G9 LED bulb per spotlight. To adjust the intensity in the evening, check the bulb compatibility with a dimmer setup.
| Socket | Max power in the selection | References | What it implies |
|---|---|---|---|
| GU10 | 15 W max or 50 W max | Oak, Oak Bois | provide a GU10 LED bulb |
| G9 | 28 W max | Madera, Madera Bois | provide a G9 LED bulb |
Which format and height for which use?
A 13 or 23 cm spotlight is placed near a wall or on a low wall, at eye level. A 40 or 80 cm model stands out more and structures a path. Choose the height before the style: it is what decides the size visible in the garden.
The widths follow the height. The two compact models are 6 and 4 cm wide, the two large ones 12 and 28 cm. A 28 cm wide body needs space and a wall that can accommodate it.
The compact formats of 13 and 23 cm
The 13 cm compact Oak is the most discreet of the lot, with only 6 cm width: it suits an entrance or a hallway. The 23 cm Madera steps up in presence without taking up space.
The tall formats of 40 and 80 cm
The 40 cm wooden Madera and the 80 cm Oak are visible from afar: reserve them for path edges and open facades. Allow regular spacing so the line stays readable.
| Model | Shape | Material | Socket | Dimensions W × D × H | Max power | Style | Rooms listed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Oak Bois | Cylindrical | Wood | GU10 | 12 × 12 × 80 cm | 15 W max | not specified | Outdoor, terrace, kitchen, hallway, living room |
| Madera Bois | Tube | Wood and fabric | G9 | 28 × 28 × 40 cm | 28 W max | Scandinavian | Outdoor, terrace, kitchen, hallway, living room |
| Oak | Tube | Wood | GU10 | 6 × 6 × 13 cm | 50 W max | Minimalist | Outdoor, terrace, kitchen, hallway, living room |
| Madera | Tube | Wood and fabric | G9 | 4 × 4 × 23 cm | 28 W max | not specified | Outdoor, terrace, kitchen, hallway, living room |
How to match a wooden spotlight with the rest of the exterior?
Beige wood matches a light wall, a stone-toned render or cladding. On a dark facade, it creates a warm contrast. The Scandinavian and minimalist styles of the Madera and Oak models pair well with understated furniture, gravel and potted plants.
The rule fits in one line: pick up a shade already present outside, terrace wood, door, screen, rather than adding a third colour family.
With a light wall or wooden cladding
On a light render or cladding, the beige blends in and the shape stands out. A narrow body keeps a clean line. If your facade is already very light and you want a clear contrast, in a black finish the reading is sharper, just as in white to stay in light tones.
On a dark facade
On a dark wall, light wood becomes the light point even when switched off. Then avoid multiplying materials around it: a single type of fixture is enough. For more elaborate shapes, take a look at more sculpted shapes.
How to install and maintain a wooden LED outdoor spotlight?
Provide a power supply suitable for outdoor use and respect the max power of the socket. IP44 protects against water splashes, not immersion. For maintenance, a soft cloth is enough on the wood; the bulb is replaced by an LED of the same socket, GU10 or G9.
Installation, connection and IP44 protection
IP44 allows outdoor installation in the rain, away from a direct jet and outside flood zones. The connection must be made with the power off, on a protected circuit. If running a cable is not possible, a version without connection avoids the work.
Cleaning the wood and changing the bulb
A soft cloth or a light sponge, without abrasive products or high-pressure jet. For the bulb, switch off the power, let it cool, then fit an LED of equal or lower power than the maximum indicated. Need a beam at ground level rather than high up? See to be placed flush with the ground and spotlights to be recessed into the terrace.
What budget and warranties for these wooden spotlights?
This selection stays in an accessible range, with a two-year warranty on all models. The price varies according to the format and the socket, from the small compact body to the large 80 cm format. On the order side, Designix provides secure payment, tracked delivery, returns and a reachable customer service.
An accessible range, two-year warranty
The budget is mostly read in the format: an 80 cm body requires more material than a 13 cm model. The two-year warranty covers all four references, which leaves time to check the result over a full season. To compare with other materials, the range of LED outdoor spotlights gives the overview, and all our light fixtures cover the rest of the house.
Secure payment, tracked delivery and returns
Two-year warranty on the four models, 28 W max for G9 sockets and 15 or 50 W max for GU10. Unsure between two formats? Start by measuring the available height on your wall.
For a terrace, the duo of 40 cm wooden Madera and 13 cm compact Oak covers both the edge and the passage. Order, install, and keep the original bulb for maintenance.
Frequently asked questions
Can you find a solid wood LED outdoor spotlight?
The wood is alone on the two Oak models, combined on the Madera models. Each product page specifies the exact composition and dimensions. If solid wood is a selection criterion, check that mention before ordering.
Which bulb should be used in a wooden LED outdoor spotlight?
An LED bulb with the spotlight socket: GU10 for the Oak models, G9 for the Madera models. Respect the max power indicated, 15 W or 50 W max depending on the Oak, 28 W max for the Madera models. A more powerful bulb is not intended for the fixture.
Can a wooden outdoor spotlight stay outside in the rain?
Yes, all models are IP44: they resist water splashes and stay outside in the rain. IP44 does not cover immersion or a powerful jet. Avoid a flood zone and cleaning with a jet.
Where to place a wooden LED outdoor spotlight in the garden?
Along a path, at the edge of a terrace or near the entrance, in a spot where the wood remains visible. The 40 and 80 cm formats stand out from afar, the 13 and 23 cm ones slip in near a low wall. Space them two to three metres apart.
How to maintain a wooden spotlight exposed outdoors?
A soft cloth or a light sponge is enough to dust the wood. Avoid abrasive products and the high-pressure jet. For the bulb, switch off the power and replace the LED with a bulb of the same socket, of equal or lower power than the maximum indicated.
Do you need an adjustable spotlight to light a wall?
The models in this selection are not listed as adjustable: they light the area towards which the fixture is placed. To aim precisely at a wall or a panel, look instead at to be placed flush with the ground or adjustable models, with the same socket and protection rating constraints.
Wooden LED outdoor spotlight: for the terrace or for indoors?
Both. The rooms listed range from outdoor and terrace to kitchen, hallway and living room. A 13 cm compact spotlight works well in a hallway, a 23 cm format near a worktop. The beige finish stays discreet on a light wall.
