A floor standing projector is chosen based on three things: the room to light, the direction of the beam and the protection rating. In this selection, the Zambelis aluminium IP65 wall projectors (18 W and 36 W, dark brown or graphite) light a hallway, a terrace or a bathroom, while the black Cinéa adjustable pendant, with an E27 base, dresses a living room or a dining room.
What is a floor standing light called?
A floor standing light is named after the light it projects: floor lamp when the lighting is diffuse, floor standing projector when the beam is directed and adjustable. In this collection, the models are adjustable or suspended, and can be fixed to the wall or the ceiling.
Floor lamp, floor lamps, standard lamp: the words people search for
Searches look alike because lighting vocabulary describes a use, not an object. A floor lamp lights widely and stands on the floor; a floor standing projector sends its light in a chosen direction. Both exist, the sorting is done on the beam. To see both families side by side, browse the lighting catalogue, then refine with floor lamps.
Floor standing video projector and overhead projector: do not confuse
These devices project an image onto a screen, not lighting: they are not in our ranges and no model in this selection relates to them. If you are looking to light a wall, a staircase or a facade, you are on the right page.
Which floor standing projector to light a living room?
For a living room, you look for light directed at a wall rather than general lighting. An adjustable aluminium wall projector slides light across the surface, without lighting the centre of the room, and leaves the atmosphere to the rest of the living room. Powers range from 18 to 40 W depending on the model.
Living room floor lighting: directed beam or ambient light
A grazing beam on a wall structures the room without extra furniture: the relief of the plaster or brick stands out, and the sofa stays in comfortable shade. For a reading corner or a table, an adjustable pendant placed above the area does the same job from above. Dimmable pendants allow you to lower the intensity in the evening, without changing the light.
Which power for a living room, without dazzling
18 W is enough to wash a section of wall or a recess, 36 W covers a large wall or a greater height. The rule remains the same: aim the beam at the surface, never at the eyes, and cross two sources rather than pushing a single one. The LED projectors in the selection generate little heat, which matters when the light stays on for a long time.
Outdoor floor standing projector: which protection rating to choose?
Outdoors, the protection rating decides. IP65 protects against dust and water jets: this is the level of the aluminium models in this collection, usable on a terrace, on a facade or in a bathroom. IP20 is suitable for dry interiors, like the black pendant.
Outdoor floor lighting: terrace, facade, path
On a terrace, a low directed beam highlights a wall or a low wall without creating a blinding spot as you pass. On a facade, two light points placed at the bottom bring out the material. For a path or a flowerbed, outdoor lights on the floor and garden light can be combined with a sensor to light only at the right moment.
IP65 and IP20: what these two figures allow
The first digit covers solids, the second liquids. IP65 means dust-tight and resistant to water jets: gentle jet washing tolerated, rain without consequence. IP20 only protects against touch and ordinary dust: to be reserved for dry interiors. Find the IP65 waterproof devices for everything that stays outside.
| Location | Exposure | Recommended rating | Corresponding model |
|---|---|---|---|
| Terrace, facade, outdoor | Rain and water jets | IP65 | Zambelis 36 W dark brown wall projector |
| Bathroom, toilet | Humidity and splashes | IP65 | Zambelis graphite adjustable wall projector |
| Hallway, staircase, entrance | Indoor, dust | IP65 or IP20 depending on location | Zambelis 18 W wall projector |
| Living room, kitchen, dining room | Dry interior | IP20 | Cinéa black adjustable pendant |
What is the best work site projector?
A work site projector is judged on three points: waterproofing to work outside, the strength of the aluminium body and the ability to direct the beam towards the area to be lit. An IP65 aluminium model meets these criteria, and stores as well as a wall projector once the site is finished.
Work site floor standing projector: the criteria that matter
The aluminium body absorbs shocks and dissipates heat better than thin plastic. IP65 avoids unplugging the device at the first shower. Adjustability, finally, allows you to aim at the wall being worked on rather than the floor. A fixed model also works as garage lighting or workshop lighting, where dust remains present.
LED projector or wall projector: two different uses
The first moves and plugs in as needed; the second stays installed and disappears from view once the wall is lit. If the device must turn on by itself when you pass, look at the motion sensor versions. If no cable is possible, rechargeable projectors take over.
How to wire several lamps on a single electrical supply?
Several lights can run from the same supply if the circuit and connection allow it: each point is tapped in parallel, never in series, and the 24 V supply goes through a driver intended for the whole. The number of points depends on the cable cross-section and the circuit breaker, to be validated by the installer.
24 V driver: what "without driver" means
A 24 V light cannot be connected directly to the mains: it needs a driver to step down the voltage. Depending on the references, the driver is included or to be provided. The Zambelis 18 W dark brown wall projector and the Zambelis 36 W IP65 are listed without a driver, while adjustable Zambelis in graphite comes with one. Check this point before ordering the power supply.
Tapping in parallel: the rule to remember
In series, one blown lamp turns off the whole line; in parallel, each keeps its own supply. So you run a supply to a box, then branch out to each point. The sizing of the driver, cable cross-section and circuit breaker depends on the installation: that is the installer's role, and we do not replace their calculation.
LED or E27 base: which light for which room?
An integrated LED gives a fixed light, warm white between 2700 and 3500 K, chosen once and for all. An E27 base lets you choose the bulb: you can change the shade or intensity without changing the light. Both exist in this collection, depending on the model.
Warm white 2700 - 3500 K: where it works
This range leans towards warm yellow: it softens a living room, a bedroom or an entrance and does not harden faces. Below, you enter neutral or cool white, more suited to a work surface. For a bedroom, you look for the bottom of the range. The selection of bedroom lights gathers the soft shades.
Halogen floor lamp or LED: what changes for you
An E27 halogen bulb is replaced by an LED of the same socket, without touching the light: that is the advantage of the black Cinéa pendant, whose socket accepts the bulb of your choice. An integrated LED, on the other hand, cannot be replaced but requires no bulb maintenance. It is up to you to see whether you prefer freedom or simplicity.
Which rooms to light: hallway, staircase, bedroom, entrance?
These projectors are installed in the hallway, on the staircase, in the bedroom, at the entrance, in the living room, in the toilet, in the bathroom, outdoors and on a terrace. In a circulation area, you light the wall rather than the floor to avoid glare; in a bedroom and entrance, a low beam is enough.
Hallway and staircase: guide without dazzling
A narrow hallway struggles with a source right in your face. A beam grazing along the wall gives relief and leaves the passage in soft light. On a staircase, place the points so they light the steps without being blinding from the top. Industrial lights take on this role with an exposed body.
Bedroom and entrance: soft light on waking
In a bedroom, a wall projector aimed at the wall replaces a wall light and avoids direct light above the bed. At the entrance, a low point placed near the floor or furniture lights the shoe area without turning on the whole room. This family of floor standing LED projectors covers both uses.
How to choose, install and maintain your projector?
Before ordering, note the actual dimensions: 89 or 123 mm high, 40 mm deep, 500 or 1,000 mm long depending on the model. Aluminium dominates the selection, and the brown, grey or black finish is chosen according to the wall.
Dimensions and materials: check before ordering
The wall models are 40 mm deep: they do not stand off the wall and do not obstruct a passage. The length varies from 500 mm for the 18 W to 1,000 mm for the 36 W, a visible difference on a large panel. The aluminium body holds up outside as well as inside; the Cinéa pendant combines plastic and metal and reaches 150 cm.
| Model | Type | Material | Rating | Power | Colour | Recommended rooms |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zambelis 18 W 24 V wall projector | Wall | Aluminium | IP65 | 18 W | Brown | Hallway, staircase, bedroom, living room, entrance, bathroom, outdoor, terrace |
| Zambelis 36 W 24 V wall projector | Wall | Aluminium | IP65 | 36 W | Brown | Hallway, staircase, bedroom, living room, entrance, bathroom, outdoor, terrace |
| Zambelis 36 W adjustable wall projector | Adjustable wall | Aluminium | IP65 | 36 W | Graphite grey | Hallway, staircase, bedroom, living room, entrance, bathroom, outdoor, terrace |
| Cinéa black cinema projector lamp | Adjustable pendant | Plastic and metal | IP20 | 40 W | Black | Living room, kitchen, dining room |
Install and maintain: simple steps
Cut the power at the circuit breaker before any work, find the beam height by aiming it at the wall before fixing, then tighten the bracket without forcing. For maintenance, a soft dry cloth is enough on aluminium; avoid abrasive products that scratch the finish. An E27 bulb is replaced without any special tool.

Frequently asked questions
What is a floor standing light called?
A light that diffuses its light from a stem or support is called a floor lamp when the lighting is diffuse, and a floor standing projector when the beam is directed and adjustable. The name therefore depends on the light, not the shape of the base.
What is the best work site projector?
There is no best model in absolute terms. You look at the protection rating for working outside, the body material and the ability to direct the beam. An IP65 aluminium projector combines these qualities and can remain installed after the site.
How to wire several lamps on a single electrical supply?
Each light is tapped in parallel on the same supply, never in series. The 24 V models go through a driver intended for the whole, whether included or to be provided. The number of points and the cable cross-section depend on the circuit: the connection is the installer's responsibility.
Living room floor lamp: how to choose it?
In a living room, you first choose the direction of the light: a grazing beam on a wall structures the room, an adjustable pendant accompanies a reading corner or a table. The brown, grey or black finish comes next, depending on the wall colour.
Do you need a driver for a 24 V LED projector?
A 24 V projector needs a driver to step down the mains voltage. Depending on the model, the driver is included with the light or to be provided separately, as on the dark brown Zambelis 18 W and 36 W. Check before connecting.
