Start by counting the room and the height: a round LED chandelier of 78 to 150 cm, in warm white 3000K, is enough to light a living room or a dining room. This selection brings together chandeliers in aluminium, metal or crystal, all rated IP20, with a dedicated LED module or G4, G9, GU10 and E14 bulbs depending on the reference.

What is an LED chandelier and what light does it give?
An LED chandelier is a chandelier whose lighting relies on LEDs: either a dedicated module built into the fixture, or G4, G9, GU10 or E14 bulbs depending on the model. Here, the light is most often warm white between 2700 and 3500K, with a few versions in neutral white 4000K or cool white.
Hanging LED chandelier: what changes compared with a bulb chandelier
On a model with a dedicated module, there is nothing to replace: the LED, its driver and the diffuser form a single unit, and the structure stays slim. On a socket model, you keep control over the bulb, for example a G9 LED bulb or a fine screw LED lamp. The chandelier collection as a whole works mainly in aluminium, metal, iron and glass.
Warm white 3000K or neutral white 4000K: which light for which room?
Warm white 2700-3500K gives a golden light, the one for relaxing rooms. Neutral white 3500-4500K whitens colours without yellowing them, useful over a worktop. Cool white 4500-6500K stands out more and is reserved for work areas. A full lighting catalogue lets you compare the results before deciding.
Which LED chandelier to choose for the living room?
For a living room, LED chandeliers are mostly round shapes or rings, with diameters ranging from about 78 to 150 cm depending on the area to cover. Black and gold dominate the selection, and some models accept a dimmer to switch from ambient light to reading light.
Modern living room chandelier or industrial living room chandelier: how to decide?
A modern living room chandelier relies on a continuous line and little material: slim ring, slim arms, black or gold finish. A large industrial chandelier does the opposite, with cones, exposed rods and unashamed metal. Browse the living room models with current lines to see both trends side by side. A large Alvar 3 in black aluminium gives the most graphic look. For natural materials, also look at rattan chandeliers, whose woven shade diffuses a soft light and suits a living room or a bedroom well.
Large living room chandelier: what diameter for a large open living space?
The more open the room, the more the fixture must hold the volume: in an open-plan living space, a model of 110 to 150 cm reads better than a small round lost on the ceiling. Below 78 cm, the right scale is often that of a reading corner. Living room chandeliers can also be mounted on a long cable, like the Rio 78 in gold, which drops to 150 cm.
Which LED chandelier for a dining room?
In a dining room, the LED chandelier is chosen around the table: a round or oval shape placed on the axis, a diameter consistent with the tabletop, and an adjustable cable height to fine-tune the clearance. Several models drop from 150 to 260 cm, which leaves room above a tall piece of furniture.
Hanging LED chandelier above the table: how to set the height?
The bottom of the fixture is generally placed around 75 to 85 cm above the tabletop, depending on the size of the guests and the width of the table. An adjustable cable lets you adjust this reference once the room is furnished. Above the table, a fixture that lights downwards and to the sides is better than a single spotlight in the centre.
Round, oval or tube chandelier for a dining room?
A round chandelier suits a square or round table, an oval model a large rectangular table, a line of tubes an island or a long counter. Round shapes dominate here, followed by spheres and tubes. Contemporary lines go well with a raw wood table. In a workshop spirit, the Vortex with five cones takes on the same role.
LED chandelier for the bedroom and kitchen: what differences?
The bedroom calls for warm white light and a compact format, often a sphere or a ring, so as not to overwhelm the room. In the kitchen, the selection stays IP20: these chandeliers are installed in a dry room, away from the sink and the hob, never in a water splash zone.
LED chandelier bedroom: which light to fall asleep?
A warm white light around 2700 to 3000K, diffused through glass, prepares better for rest than a direct beam on the bed axis. A dimmer, when the model offers one, lowers the intensity in the evening. Bedroom lighting benefits from combining two reading points with the central chandelier. A wood chandelier like the Rio Eik warms a room with light walls.
LED chandelier kitchen: why is IP20 enough in a dry room?
The IP20 rating protects against touch and dust, not water: this is the rating of all the chandeliers presented here. In the kitchen, that is enough as long as the fixture stays out of the splash zone, above a worktop or an island. A directional LED spotlight or an LED strip under the wall unit complete kitchen chandeliers in an elongated format.
| Room | What we look for | Shapes and styles | Light |
|---|---|---|---|
| Living room | Light widely without overwhelming the volume | Round, ring, sphere; modern, contemporary | Warm white, dimmer depending on the model |
| Dining room | Light the table and mark the axis | Round, oval, tube; contemporary | Warm white, adjustable cable |
| Bedroom | Soft light, contained format | Sphere, ring, compact round; minimalist | Warm white, dimmer on some models |
| Kitchen | Sharp lighting in a dry room | Round, tube; modern | IP20, warm white or neutral white |
| Hallway | Unobtrusive fixture | Round, ring; minimalist | IP20, warm white |
| Entrance or office | Make the space readable | Round, open shapes | IP20, warm white |
Modern, design or industrial LED chandelier: which style to adopt?
Style is read first in the shape and material: a slim structure in aluminium or metal for a minimalist look, cones and rods for an industrial spirit, crystal drops for a diamond effect. Black and gold remain the most common finishes, followed by white and beige.
Black, gold or white finish: matching the chandelier to the decor
A black finish fades on a white ceiling and lets the light speak: it is the choice of bright interiors and minimalist lines. Gold warms dark wood furniture or a coloured wall. White and beige blend into painted ceilings. Black versions are the easiest to match. Gold finishes require an already bright room.
Large industrial chandelier or diamond effect: the statement pieces
A large industrial chandelier draws its character from raw metal, adjustable reflectors and exposed rods. A diamond chandelier plays on cut glass or crystal elements that throw the light in splinters, often on several tiers. Drops and crystal require a tall room. The Luxe Astral dandelion chandelier illustrates this effect.
How to choose the size, shape and socket of an LED chandelier?
Three criteria are enough: the silhouette, which determines the space on the ceiling; the diameter or length, to be related to the room; and the socket, which indicates whether you can change the bulbs yourself. A model with a dedicated LED socket, on the other hand, is replaced by a module.
Round, sphere, tube, ring LED chandelier: which silhouette to choose?
The round shape lights evenly and suits rooms organised around a piece of furniture. The sphere and the ring are more graphic above a round table. The tube and the oval follow a long line. The dimensions of our chandelier models in all finishes give the diameter and the maximum cable height, two figures to note before confirming.
Dedicated LED, G4, G9, GU10 or E14 socket: what does it imply day to day?
A dedicated LED socket requires replacement by module, whereas a G4, G9, GU10 or E14 socket lets you choose the bulb, including a dimmable G9 LED bulb. Searches that start from a Leroy Merlin, IKEA or Maison du Monde chandelier often run into this question, rarely displayed. All the home lighting families can be compared on this point.
| Socket | Type of source | Consequence | Example from the selection |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dedicated LED | Module built into the fixture | Replacement by module, not by a bulb | Alvar, Risa, Rio Bio |
| G4 | Small low-voltage bulb | Slim bulbs for structures with drops | Éclat Sombre |
| G9 | Compact pin bulb | Common format in decoration | Pissenlit Luxe Astral |
| GU10 | Bulb with socket and reflector | Directional beam, standard bulb | Qira |
| E14 | Fine screw bulb | Classic format, very widespread | Aurélia |
Does an LED chandelier have drawbacks and how to maintain it?
The point of vigilance lies in the source: on a model with a dedicated LED module, it is this module that sets the lifespan of the fixture, whereas a model with a G4, G9, GU10 or E14 socket is extended by changing the bulb. Cleaning is done dry, on the diffusers and the drops.
What are the drawbacks of LEDs?
A dedicated LED module is not replaced like a bulb: when the source or its driver weakens, it is the whole block that must be changed. The quality of this module therefore matters more than the advertised lifespan figure, whereas a bulb model remains simpler to maintain over time.
An LED does not always dim very low: depending on the module and the dimmer, it may flicker or refuse to fade gradually. Its rendering also remains very stable over time, whereas a filament bulb yellows as it ages. An LED chandelier with a fan, with a built-in blade, circulates the air but requires sufficient ceiling height.
Dimmer and bulbs: what to check before buying
First check whether the model is stated as dimmer-compatible, then whether that dimmer is intended for LEDs. On a socket model, compatibility depends on the bulb installed. Maintenance remains simple: soft, dry cloth on the glass and diffusers, no product on the drops or on lacquered finishes.
Cheap LED chandelier or exceptional piece: how to choose your budget?
The budget is read mainly in the number of light points, the material and the finish: a simple structure in aluminium or metal remains the most accessible, a piece in crystal, with drops or multiple heads sits higher. The warranty also varies, from two to five years depending on the reference.
2-year or 5-year warranty: what does it change for you
On a fixture with a dedicated LED module, the warranty covers the most expensive part to replace: the source and its driver. On a bulb model, the stakes are lower since the bulb is changed on its own. The warranty varies depending on the models, which remains a good sorting criterion between two models of the same format.
Secure payment, tracked delivery and returns: order with peace of mind
Orders are placed with secure payment, with tracked delivery and a Designix customer service reachable to confirm a diameter or a socket before buying. Returns remain possible if the format does not suit once installed. For a tight budget, the entry-level range of the collection is the most direct option.
Last reference before confirming: measure the table and the free height, then compare two diameters on the same product page. The Rio Bio 110 in black aluminium
