Recharge the lamp, then place it wherever you want: no cable, no socket, no drilling. This collection brings together models with LED lighting, mostly in warm white, in woven wood, metal, plastic or glass, with protection ratings up to IP65 for the terrace and outdoors.
How does a cordless rechargeable table lamp work?
The lamp contains a battery that you recharge, then it lights without being connected to the mains. You place it on a table, a piece of furniture or on the floor. In this collection, the lighting is provided by LEDs, with models using an E27 base, and several models have a dimmer. Floor lamps (lampadaires) belong to another family of light fixtures.
Cordless rechargeable table lamp: what it changes in daily life
No more cable trailing between the sofa and the socket, no more extension lead on the terrace, no more drill for a wall light. The lamp follows your gesture: you pick it up from the coffee table to light a book, move it to the dining area, take it outside in the evening. Most models in our lighting catalogue run on LED, with no bulb to replace. In terms of shapes, the design LED models gather the most graphic silhouettes.
Warm white, neutral white or cool white: which light for which room?
Warm white, around 2700 to 3500 K, suits the living room and the bedroom: it is the most common shade here. Neutral white, around 3500 to 4500 K, remains comfortable for reading or working. Cool white, above 4500 K, lights a worktop more sharply. Some models combine the three temperatures on the same lamp, such as the Novtoreta, portable and IP65.
Where to install a table lamp without electrical wiring?
A cordless lamp can be placed anywhere there is no socket: on a side table in the living room, a bedside table, a desk or a terrace. The living room and the bedroom appear on all models in the collection, the outdoors and the terrace on a large share of them.
| Room | What you look for | Rating to aim for | Suitable light | Models in the collection |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Living room | an accent light on a table or low furniture | IP20 to IP54 depending on exposure | warm white 2700-3500 K | Martorena, Aritorena, Valtorella |
| Bedroom | a bedside lamp without a socket near the bed | IP20 to IP44 | warm white 2700-3500 K | Beltoreno, Elitoreno, Rechargea |
| Terrace and outdoors | a lamp placed on the floor or a table, exposed | IP54 to IP65 | warm white or neutral white | Novtoreta, Artema, Soleila |
| Desk | a directed accent light near the worktop | IP20 to IP44 | neutral white 3500-4500 K | Rechargea, Elitoreno |
In the living room, on a side table or low furniture
On low furniture, a lamp in woven rattan or veined wood warms the corner of the sofa. On a narrow side table, a metal silhouette remains discreet. The design table lamps for the living room cover this accent need. For a more current line, modern lamps for the living room play on metal and simple shapes. For the bedroom, an accent lamp for the bedroom replaces the wired bedside lamp.
On the terrace or outside: check the IP protection rating
IP20 stays in a dry interior. IP44 holds up on a sheltered terrace, IP54 under a covered outdoor area, IP65 against more direct exposure. The product sheet gives the rating, and that is what decides whether the lamp can stay outside. The Martorena, a teardrop in woven rattan, is rated IP54. The Novtoreta goes up to IP65.
Which format to choose: ball lamp, tube, dome or tilted shade?
A ball lamp, round or oval, softens low furniture and diffuses widely. A tube or a dome rises higher on less surface, handy on a small table. Models with a tilted shade direct the light towards a book or a worktop.
Design ball table lamp and round silhouettes
A ball 25 cm in diameter occupies a bedside table without crushing it, and its light goes in all directions. The collection includes rounds, ovals and teardrops, in metal, rattan or plastic. The Valtorella, an Art Deco metal ball, plays on the ring and the sphere. The Aritorena, a bohemian rattan oval, brings a softer texture.
Tube, dome and tilted shade: narrower, more directed
A tube fits on a narrow surface and lights upwards or to the sides. The dome concentrates light downwards, useful above a worktop. The tilted shade is adjusted by hand: the Rechargea and its tactile tilted shade is controlled with a fingertip, at 22 x 40 cm.
How to connect several lamps to a single electrical supply?
With rechargeable lamps, the question does not arise: each one lights after recharging, with no additional electrical supply. This is useful for lighting several corners of a living room or a terrace without multiplying sockets. For wired light fixtures, the connection is a job for an electrician.
Two or three portable lamps are often enough to create an atmosphere: one near the sofa, one high on a piece of furniture, one outside. The adjustable table lamps are directed towards the wall for indirect lighting. To stay in a more understated register, a more understated Nordic spirit relies on white and straight lines.
How to match the material and colour of the lamp to the room?
Woven wood and rattan warm a bohemian interior, black or gold metal gives a contemporary line, white plastic is discreet on a bedside table. Beige and white dominate the collection, black and anthracite make more of a statement in the decor.
Wood and woven rattan for a warm interior
Woven rattan filters the light and draws shadows on the wall. Wood and bamboo materials cover nearly a third of the models, from beige to natural. A linen shade extends this family with a textile finish. In contrast, crystal table lamps seek brilliance.
Gold, black or white plastic metal: what effect in the room?
Metal accounts for about a third of the materials: a gold finish catches the light, anthracite blends into a dark interior, white fades away on a light table. Plastic, on the other hand, makes the lamp lighter and easier to move. Gold or black finishes create a marked contrast. Design white versions remain discreet.
Solar lamp or rechargeable lamp: which to choose outside?
A solar lamp is placed outside without thinking about recharging, which suits a terrace or a garden. A rechargeable lamp gives the same light everywhere, indoors and outdoors, but goes through a recharge. In both cases, the protection rating decides whether the model can stay exposed.
| Rating | Share of models | Where to place it | Example models |
|---|---|---|---|
| IP20 | 19% | dry interior, living room or bedroom | Nertoraro |
| IP44 | 27% | sheltered terrace, slightly damp room | Beltoreno, Elitoreno, Rechargea, Soleila |
| IP54 | 31% | sheltered outdoor area, terrace | Martorena, Valtorella, Ambelina, Ondtorena, Aritorena, Loreia, Coupola |
| IP65 | 19% | exposed outdoor area | Novtoreta, Artema |
On the solar side, Soleila, openwork shade and solar version stays outside without recharging. For a ribbed shape reminiscent of Art Deco, Artema and its ribbed ovoid shade is rated IP65. The two families complement each other in the full range of Designix light fixtures.
Do you need to drill or run a line to install these lamps?
No: a table lamp moves freely and requires no screws, no wall plugs, no wired wall light. This is the advantage when you rent or do not want to touch the wall. Ceiling or wall mounting concerns other families of light fixtures, which involve drilling or a line.
No hole, no wired wall light needed
Nothing to fix, nothing to connect: the lamp only needs a flat surface. That is the whole difference from a wall light or a ceiling light, which require a support and a supply. A metal lamp for the desk is placed in the same way, without touching the wall.
Recharging and maintaining your portable lamp day to day
A soft cloth is enough on metal and plastic; on woven rattan, dust without wetting. Outside, bring the lamp in during frost or strong wind. The charging cable stays in the same place, it is the lamp that travels, and the charging point remains unique in the house.
How to position yourself on budget and level of finish?
The collection ranges from affordable models, in plastic or simple metal, to more elaborate pieces such as woven rattan or the ribbed shade. The budget mainly follows the material, the shape and the presence of a dimmer or a tactile control. The grid shows the current price of each model.
Models with dimmer and tactile control
A little more than a quarter of the models accept a dimmer, and some are controlled by touch, such as the Rechargea or the Sole. Handy near the bed: you lower the light without looking for the switch, without waking the room. Bedroom LED lighting brings these uses together.
From affordable entry-level to more elaborate pieces
White plastic plays the entry-level role, light and easy to move. Woven wood, glass and gold finishes sit higher, with visible material work. For the desk, design table lamps for the desk offer finer pieces. For a dark background, black table lamps for the living room play on contrast.

Frequently asked questions about rechargeable table lamps
How does a cordless rechargeable lamp work?
The lamp contains a battery that you recharge, then it lights without being connected to the mains. You place it wherever you want, on a table, a piece of furniture or on the floor. Here, the lighting is provided by LEDs, with models using an E27 base, and several models have a dimmer. Floor lamps (lampadaires) belong to another family of light fixtures.
How can I connect a lamp without an electrical socket?
You do not connect it: a rechargeable lamp is used after recharging and moves freely, with no visible cable. This is the solution when the room has no socket in the desired place, or for a terrace. For a fixed light point connected to the mains, a dedicated installation is required, to be entrusted to an electrician.
Can you install a lamp without drilling, like a ceiling light without drilling?
Yes for a table lamp: it stands on a piece of furniture, a table or the floor, without screws or wall plugs, and moves at will. No wired wall light is necessary. Wall or ceiling mounting concerns other families of light fixtures, which require drilling or an electrical line.
Italian design table lamp: how to recognise it?
What is called Italian design brings together simple and graphic silhouettes, often in metal or glass. In this collection, the contemporary models in metal, dome or tube, with a gold, black or white finish, come close. The choice is made on shape, material and light temperature.
Can a cordless LED table lamp stay outside?
It depends on its protection rating. An IP44 model suits a sheltered terrace, an IP54 a sheltered outdoor area and an IP65 a more direct exposure. An IP20 stays indoors. A solar version can also be suitable for a lamp placed outside.
