Reality, abbreviated RL, is the lighting brand of the German group TRIO Leuchten: ceiling lights, wall lights, floor lamps, pendants, spotlights and outdoor lights, mostly in metal and often with integrated LED. At Designix, every reference is detailed with its material, dimensions, socket and colour temperature, so you can compare before ordering.

What is the Reality brand and what does its range include?

Reality, the lighting brand of the TRIO Leuchten group

Reality is a German brand belonging to the TRIO Leuchten group. Its range covers the main families of home lighting: ceiling lights (the largest family), table lamps, pendants, spotlights, floor lamps, wall lights, outdoor lights and desk lamps. Integrated LED features in most references, and models intended for the garden carry protection ratings suited to moisture.

Reality, which family of lights should you choose?

Metal dominates the manufacturing, complemented by plastic and, more occasionally, wood or paper. Available finishes are black, white, silver and gold. The brand's positioning remains accessible, leaving room to equip several rooms of the same home with a coherent look. To see the other brands in the catalogue, browse all home lighting.

What light does a Reality light give?

Warm white or cool white: which to choose?

Most references in this collection light in warm white, between 2700 and 3500 K. This shade is close to the filament bulb: it brings out warm woods and fabrics, is less tiring in the evening and suits the living room, bedroom and hallway. A minority of models light in cool white, between 4500 and 6500 K, a crisper, more neutral rendering, useful where you read or work. On each product page, the wattage and socket type are indicated. References in the collection include the Davey, Earl, Lira, Margarita and Punch wall lights, as well as the Cadiz, Course, Enzo and Gerry floor lamps.

Is warm light suitable for every room?

In a living room or bedroom, yes, almost always. In a kitchen or office, warm white also works, but you then need to look at the wattage: the Davey, Earl and Lira wall lights are 1.5 W (integrated LED), while Margarita and Punch, with E27 sockets, accept 4 and 7 W max. E27 models accept a more generous bulb. Find these variants in the full lighting catalogue.

How to choose between a wall light, a floor lamp and a Reality ceiling light?

A wall light replaces or complements a ceiling light when you don't want to touch the ceiling; a floor lamp places light at shoulder height and can be moved; a ceiling light illuminates the whole room. The choice therefore depends on the surface area, the existing power point and whether you can drill into a wall.

Which light when you don't want to drill the ceiling?

Two solutions in the collection. The wall light: the Davey matt black wall light measures 15.5 cm in diameter by 8.4 cm deep, the Earl brushed brass wall light 15.5 cm in diameter by 15 cm deep, and the Lira paper wall light 18.5 cm wide by 19 cm high. And the floor lamp: Cadiz three-light floor lamp reaches 154 cm, the Enzo satin nickel floor lamp 150 cm, the Gerry two-light brass floor lamp 180 cm with a 34 cm shade diameter.

How many light points for a living space?

For a living space, you generally combine general lighting and two accent sources. A two or three-light floor lamp, like the Gerry or Cadiz, does this work alone: switch on one head to read, two or three to light more widely. A Course floor lamp with dimmer lets you adjust the intensity without changing the bulb.

Which room to install a Reality light in?

The models in this collection presented here are IP20: they are installed in dry indoor rooms, such as the living room, bedroom, hallway or office. For a bathroom, a damp room or outdoors, you need a reference with a higher protection rating, available in the range but outside this selection.

Which type of Reality light by room
Room Type of light Socket or technology What it changes
Living room 2 or 3-light floor lamp E27 or E14 Lights widely and moves near the sofa
Bedroom Wall lights either side of the bed Integrated LED Accent light without hanging anything from the ceiling
Hallway and entrance Shallow wall light Integrated LED Doesn't obstruct the passage
Office Directional lamp or wall light Integrated LED Concentrates light on the work surface
Bathroom or outdoor Outside this IP20 collection Check the product page A higher protection rating is required

What lighting for a narrow hallway?

Depth matters more than diameter. A wall light 8.4 cm deep like the Davey lets your shoulder pass, whereas a 15 cm model like the Earl encroaches more. In a hallway, two or three wall lights aligned at the same height are better than a single strong point. Light finishes visually enlarge a dark hallway.

Can you put an IP20 light in a bathroom?

IP20 protects against finger contact, not moisture. In a bathroom, a model designed for wet areas is better. The same reasoning applies to an unheated conservatory or a garage. For other rooms, see choosing a light room by room.

Which finish to choose: matt black, silver, gold or white?

Matt black is the most common finish in the collection, ahead of silver, gold and white. Black highlights the silhouette and blends into a light wall, silver and satin nickel suit technical rooms, gold and brushed brass warm up a wooden interior.

Matt black or brushed brass in a living room?

Matt black almost disappears when the light is off, leaving space for the furniture. Brushed brass does the opposite: it remains a visible object, even when off, and brings a warm touch. The matt white variant of the Davey, for example the matt white version of the Davey, blends into a painted wall and suits light rooms.

How to match several lights in the same room?

Keep the same finish family: all black, or all satin nickel. Mixing two cool metals is trickier than combining a warm metal, like brass, with black. E27 models like the Margarita E27 wall light or the Punch E27 wall light lend themselves well to this harmonisation.

Finishes and materials measured in the collection
Finish or material Share of references Effect on the room
Matt black 37 % Crisp silhouette, blends into a light wall
Silver, satin nickel 17 % Matches technical rooms
Gold, brushed brass 13 % Warm touch in a wooden interior
White 10 % Blends into a painted wall
Green 7 % Discreet touch of colour
Metal, plastic, paper 77, 20 and 3 % Structure and finish durability, lightness or soft diffusion

Integrated LED, E27 or E14: what to plan for installation?

In this collection, most references have integrated LED: nothing to add, but the source cannot be replaced separately. E27 or E14 models require a bulb of your choice, replaceable, letting you adjust the intensity or shade of light.

Do you need an extra bulb with a Reality light?

With integrated LED, no. With an E27 socket, which concerns about a fifth of references, or E14, rarer, yes. E27 accepts standard bulbs, E14 fits slim formats and small lights. Check the maximum wattage on the product page: 4 W on the Margarita, 7 W on the Punch, 3 W on the Cadiz, 10 W on the Enzo.

Can you install a Reality light on a dimmer?

About a quarter of references in the collection accept dimming, to be checked on the product page. Connecting a light not designed for it to an existing dimmer damages the electronics or causes flickering. If the dimmer switch is already in place, look first for a compatible model. The rest of the choice is made in the Designix lighting collection.

How to maintain a Reality light and make it last?

How to clean a metal wall light?

Switch off, then dust with a soft cloth, slightly damp if needed. On a black, gold or white lacquered finish, no abrasive product or scouring pad: the lacquer scratches and the metal shows underneath. An integrated LED module cannot be dismantled, leave it in place. The Lira paper wall light should be dusted dry only.

Why avoid the bathroom for an IP20 light?

Water vapour attacks the finishes and electronic components of an unprotected light. An IP20 in a damp room oxidises faster and may lose its seal at the connections. Keeping it in a dry interior prolongs its lifespan and preserves the finish's shine. Other models for wet rooms exist in the lighting range.

Why order a Reality light from Designix?

Each reference is presented with its dimensions, material, socket, colour temperature and protection rating, so you can compare before buying. Payment is secure, delivery tracked, returns possible and customer service helps with the choice, including completing an already equipped room.

To equip an entire living room, start with the main point then add accent sources: a Gerry two-light satin nickel floor lamp on the floor, two Davey matt black wall lights either side of a seat, and the whole holds without a ceiling light. If you're still hesitating between families, browse the available indoor lights and compare the product pages.

What is the history of the Reality brand?

Reality, abbreviated RL, is a lighting brand belonging to the German group TRIO Leuchten. It offers a wide range, from ceiling lights to outdoor lights, with integrated LED on most references, black, white, silver and gold finishes, and accessible pricing.

Where to find Reality lights?

Reality lights are available at Designix, with secure payment, tracked delivery, possible returns and customer service. Each product page indicates the material, dimensions, socket, colour temperature and protection rating, so you can compare references before choosing.

Which socket to choose between integrated LED, E27 and E14?

Integrated LED features in most references in this collection: nothing to add, but the source cannot be replaced. E27 or E14 models require a bulb of your choice, replaceable. E27 is the most common, E14 fits slimmer formats.

Are Reality lights suitable for outdoor use?

References in this collection are all IP20, so intended for dry indoor rooms. The Reality range also includes outdoor lights with suitable protection ratings, but this point should be checked reference by reference on the product page before ordering.

Which colour temperature for a living room or bedroom?

In this collection, most references light in warm white, between 2700 and 3500 K, a shade close to the filament bulb that suits the living room, bedroom and hallway. Cool white, between 4500 and 6500 K, remains a minority and gives a crisper rendering.
