Choose the diameter before the material: ø20 cm or ø30 cm for a bedside lamp, ø40 cm for a wide bedside table, ø50 cm for a large table lamp or a pendant. All models in this selection are cylindrical, in linen or linen and velvet, in white or grey, with an E27 fitting and an IP20 rating.

Which lampshade for a bedroom?

For a bedroom, choose a lampshade that diffuses a soft light and matches the diameter of the lamp. In this collection, all models are cylindrical, in linen or linen and velvet, with an E27 fitting: from ø20 cm for a narrow bedside table to ø50 cm for a wide table.

A low light for the evening

In the evening, the bedroom calls for a low, dimmed light placed low near the bed. A cylindrical fabric lampshade filters the bulb around its entire circumference and reflects the light upwards and downwards without dazzling the person lying down. Linen, present across all our linen lampshades, gives this matte, even finish.

Adult bedroom and bedroom

In an adult bedroom, the lampshade sits on the bedside table and follows the style of the furniture: a round shape and a matte material suit both a dressed bedroom and an interior with modern lines. The cylindrical shape avoids the cut-out shadows of faceted lampshades and keeps a stable finish when moving around the room.

What light fitting can I put in my bedroom?

In a bedroom, the main light fitting can be a ceiling light or a pendant, completed by a table lamp on the bedside table. The cylindrical lampshades in this selection fit a pendant or a table lamp with an E27 fitting, with an IP20 rating, for indoor use only.

Pendant and ceiling light

A pendant above the foot of the bed or in the centre of the room lights the whole bedroom. A large round format fits there, provided the socket diameter is respected and the bulb is left free within the volume. For the rest of the home, all our light fittings follow the same fitting logic.

Bedside table lamp

The bedside lamp remains the most useful: it lights the book, the alarm clock and the floor without turning on the whole room. A ø20 to ø30 cm lampshade is enough. The hub lampshade, pendant and floor lamp groups these formats by support.

Which lampshade diameter to choose for a bedside lamp or a pendant?

The diameter is chosen by the support and the desired light: ø20 cm and ø30 cm suit a compact bedside lamp, ø40 cm a wide bedside table, ø50 cm a large table lamp or a pendant. The height varies from 15 to 20 cm depending on the models.

Small diameters

A ø20 cm such as the small Sylvo format sits on a narrow bedside lamp or a small table lamp, without overhanging the furniture. A ø30 cm, like the Zennorano model, covers an occasional bedside table or a small desk. The smaller the lampshade, the more the light is concentrated.

Large diameters

A ø40 cm, such as the Servesina, grey linen ø40 cm, suits a wide bedside table or a small desk. A ø50 cm suits a large table lamp or a pendant. The large Seren lampshade and the Linella model occupy this size.

The collection's formats by support and use
Model Diameter Height Material Colour Recommended support
Linella ø50 cm 20 cm Linen White Large table lamp, bedroom pendant
Seren ø50 cm 20 cm Linen Grey Large table lamp, side table
Servesina ø40 cm 20 cm Linen Grey Wide bedside table, small desk
Zennorano ø30 cm 18 cm Linen and velvet White Small table lamp, occasional bedside table
Sylvo ø20 cm 15 cm Linen and velvet White Compact bedside lamp

Linen, velvet, white or grey: what light effect in a bedroom?

Linen filters the light and makes it soft, without a marked reflection; velvet, present on some models, densifies the material and makes the light more matte. White brightens the room, grey calms it: both colours are available, including in ø50 cm.

Linen and linen combined with velvet

Linen alone gives a slightly diffuse light and a textured surface. Combined with velvet, as on the smaller formats, it produces a denser material and a more matte light. These are the only two materials in the selection, to be found in fabric lampshades.

White and grey

The white colour diffuses a clear light and visually enlarges a small bedroom. Grey softens the light and matches dark textiles and light woods. If the room is already dark, a black version or a very dark one absorbs more and lights less: to be reserved for bright rooms.

Linen, velvet, white, grey: what the material changes
Material and colour Models concerned Light rendered Where it works best
Linen, white colour Linella Filtered light, clear finish Bright bedroom, living room, office
Linen, grey colour Servesina, Seren Soft light, understated finish Bedroom with dark textiles, office
Linen and velvet, white colour Zennorano, Sylvo Denser material, matte light Compact bedside table, child's bedroom, office

How to install and care for an E27 lampshade?

All models in this collection screw onto an E27 fitting: remove the old lampshade, attach the new one to the socket using the supplied system, then check that no part touches the bulb. Linen is dusted dry, without any product, and the IP20 rating requires use in a dry interior.

Bulb and assembly

It is the socket that determines the bulb, not the lampshade. Choose a bulb whose shape stays within the volume of the cylinder, without protruding from the bottom, and respect the maximum power indicated on the socket. Before tightening, check that the fabric touches neither the bulb nor the metal socket.

Cleaning linen

A feather duster or a vacuum cleaner on a gentle setting is enough for linen. For a stain, a slightly damp cloth then air drying. No detergent products, no machine: the material deforms. The IP20 rating means these lampshades stay in a dry room, never outdoors or in a bathroom.

Lampshade for a baby, child or teenager's bedroom: how to choose?

For a child's or baby's bedroom, the lampshade must diffuse a soft light and stay out of reach of little hands. Small diameters, ø20 and ø30 cm, fit on a bedside lamp or a small table lamp; linen, present across the whole selection, limits glare.

Child and teenager

For a child and a teenager, a compact format placed on the desk or bedside table is preferred, with a dimmed light for bedtime. The ø20 cm or ø30 cm in linen and velvet suit both ages. A model in natural linen for the bedroom moves from a child's bedroom to a teenager's bedroom without needing to be changed.

Baby

In a baby's bedroom, the light is mainly used for night feeds and nappy changes: it must stay low and not shine into the eyes. A small fabric format placed away from the bed does the job. Find the suitable formats in baby's bedroom.

Bedroom chandelier, adult bedroom wall lights or ceiling light: how to spread the light?

A chandelier or ceiling light lights the whole bedroom, but for reading or getting up at night, a low and directional light is better. The E27 lampshades in this selection therefore complement a ceiling light or wall lights: they concentrate the light on the book, the alarm clock or the floor.

Chandelier and high ceiling

A chandelier remains relevant under a high ceiling or in a large room, where a single low source is not enough to light everything. It then serves as general lighting, switched on alone for tidying or cleaning. The catalogue a light fitting for every room details these families of sources.

Wall lights and low light

Two wall lights on either side of the bed give a readable light without taking up the furniture. The bedside lampshade completes this setup and moves according to use. To compare supports, the hub all our lampshades gathers pendants, table lamps and floor lamps.

And in the rest of the home: lampshade for living room, kitchen or WC?

Cylindrical E27 lampshades are not only for the bedroom: they also dress a living room table lamp, a kitchen pendant or a WC light fitting when the IP rating allows it. The choice of material and diameter remains the same, only the room changes.

Living room

In the living room, a large ø50 cm format in grey or white linen gives an ambient light placed on a low piece of furniture or a console. All the living room lampshades follow the same diameters, with a more generous finish on large tables.

Kitchen and WC

In the kitchen, a pendant above a worktop or the table brings a localised light, and a piece with modern lines fits in easily: it is a simple option for a modern kitchen decor. In the WC, keep a small format placed or suspended, always in a dry interior given the IP20 rating.

For the living room and kitchen, a chandelier or a pendant above the table brings a localised light and highlights the space.

The choice therefore comes down to three points: the diameter according to the support, the material according to the desired light, the colour according to the walls. The Linella white linen lampshade suits a large table, the Servesina, grey linen ø40 cm suits a wide bedside table. Frequently asked questions about bedroom lampshades

Lampshade for a girl's bedroom: how to match it to the decor?

It first matches the support and the wall colour. White brightens an already colourful bedroom, grey matches powdery tones and light woods. Linen brings a matte texture that stays discreet, and the cylinder adapts to all bedroom styles.

Rattan lampshade for a bedroom: what differences with linen?

This selection does not include rattan: the models are in linen or linen and velvet, which filter the light and make it softer. Rattan, woven, lets more light through and draws patterns on the walls. For a similar natural finish, a fabric lampshade remains the simplest option.

Bedroom chandelier: when to prefer it to a lampshade?

A chandelier lights the whole bedroom and suits a high ceiling or a large room. For reading or getting up at night, a lampshade placed on the bedside table remains more suitable: it concentrates the light downwards without lighting the whole bed.

Is a velvet lampshade suitable for a bedroom?

Yes, some models combine linen and velvet, in ø20 cm and ø30 cm. Velvet, combined with linen, gives a denser material and a more matte light, useful against a light wall. These models are available in white.

Which lampshade colour to choose for a bedroom?

White and grey are the two colours in this selection. White diffuses a clearer light and visually enlarges a small bedroom; grey softens the light and pairs with dark textiles. The choice mainly depends on the wall colour and the wood of the furniture.

Can a bedroom lampshade be installed on a pendant?

Yes, as long as the pendant is fitted with an E27 socket and the lampshade matches its diameter. A large format such as ø50 cm suits a pendant, while ø20 or ø30 cm remain table lamp sizes. The IP20 rating requires use in a dry interior.
