How to properly light each zone of the kitchen?

At what height should you install your pendant light above the island?

Above an island or table, hang the light fixture approximately 70 to 85 cm from the work surface, so as to provide light without obstructing the view or circulation. For multiple pendants, space them regularly and center the whole arrangement over the island. Adjust the height if the ceiling is low.

These references apply to a standard ceiling height, around 2.50 m. If the ceiling is higher, the pendant can be lowered slightly without hindering circulation; below 2.20 m, raise it to maintain passage space. For spacing between multiple aligned pendants, generally count 60 to 80 cm from center to center depending on the length of the island. Always center the set relative to the four sides for a balanced result.
