Count on one single-point pendant above a narrow worktop, and three to six lights above a long table or an island. Every pendant in this collection is LED and IP20, with G9, GU10, E27 or E14 sockets and a warm white, neutral white or cool white light.
Which LED kitchen pendant lights should you choose?
Start with the area to light: a small worktop, an island or a large table. One single-point pendant is enough over a small surface, while a three, four or six light version covers a long table. Then come the socket (G9, GU10, E27, E14), the material, the colour and the style.
Kitchen pendant or kitchen chandelier: what is the difference?
The wording changes how you count the light points. A pendant hangs from a cable, often installed on its own or in small groups above a worktop. A kitchen chandelier brings several lights together on one support, such as Kibo in three lights. In a kitchen, the goal stays the same: lighting a work area or a table.
How many light points above an island?
Up to around 1.20 m long, one source is enough. Beyond that, two or three points spread the light and limit shadowy areas between dishes. The Kibo 3 and Kibo 4 versions in GU10, Elements 4 and Elements 6 in G9, Royal 4 in E14 and Boom 6 in G9 suit longer surfaces. To widen the comparison, browse all our lights.
What are the on-trend lights for a kitchen?
In this selection, the modern style dominates, ahead of contemporary, minimalist, Nordic and industrial. In practice: black or white metal, sometimes glass, ball, tube or oval shapes, and simple lines that keep the kitchen readable above the worktop.
Modern kitchen chandelier: how do you recognise one?
A modern model stands out for its straight lines, aligned points and plain finishes. Metal is everywhere, glass appears on some references, and black remains the most common colour, ahead of white, silver and gold. Modern style LED pendants bring these codes together.
Italian design kitchen pendant: which models come close?
This spirit combines glass and metal, sometimes brass, on ball or oval shapes. the Sphère Céleste in brass and glass plays this card with its 15 x 25 cm and its E27 socket. The Elyps oval pendant mixes glass, metal and stone over 20 x 30 cm. The pieces with a strong design continue the same vein.
Which type of LED for a kitchen?
These pendants run on LED. The light temperature varies: warm white from 2700 to 3500 K for a soft mood, neutral white from 3500 to 4500 K, cool white from 4500 to 6500 K for a crisp light on the worktop. The available sockets are G9, GU10, E27 and E14.
| Model | Socket | Wattage | Light temperature | Suited room |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sphère Céleste | E27 | 16W | warm, neutral and cool white | kitchen, dining room, living room |
| Elyps | G9 | not specified | warm white or cool white | kitchen, bedroom |
| Elements 6 lights | G9 | 8W | not specified | kitchen, dining room |
| Kibo 3 lights | GU10 | 10W | not specified | kitchen, dining room, hallway |
| Royal 4 lights | E14 | 10W | not specified | kitchen, dining room |
| Azura | E27 | not specified | not specified | kitchen, bedroom, corridor |
Warm white or cool white for a kitchen?
Warm white, from 2700 to 3500 K, brings out food and wood, and suits a table where you dine. Neutral white, between 3500 and 4500 K, works as well for cooking as for hosting. Cool white, from 4500 to 6500 K, gives a crisp light for chopping, but hardens the tones in the evening. On an E27 or E14 socket, the temperature depends on the bulb you choose.
Dimmable LED pendant: useful above a worktop?
A dimmer lets you lower the intensity without changing the colour or switching on a second source. That is handy when the worktop also serves as a dining table. Some models in the collection are compatible, including Elyps and Azura. If this setting matters to you, start with adjusting the light intensity as your first criterion.
At what height should you hang a pendant above a kitchen table?
The height is set on the cable. The Elyps pendant has a 180 cm cable and a 10 cm ceiling rose, the Azura pendant a total height of 100 cm. You lower the light until it falls on the table without getting in the way of your gaze. Above a counter or a bar, a Kibo 1, 3 or 4 light pendant set high enough also does the job.
Large chandelier for a high ceiling: how do you fill the height?
Under a high ceiling, a model that is too short floats and the light gets lost. Choose a piece with a long cable or a tall total height, then lower it to recreate a lit area above the surface. Azura, with its 40 x 45 cm and its 100 cm total height, fills this volume. Volumes for high ceilings are chosen on the same principle.
How do you adjust the height of a kitchen pendant?
Switch off the power, loosen the cable clamp, slide the pendant to the length you want, then tighten again. In general, the bottom of the light sits around 75 to 85 cm above the worktop, depending on the height of the people and the use. Too high, the light scatters; too low, it gets in the way of your gaze.
Kitchen pendant or LED ceiling light: which to choose for the room?
A pendant concentrates the light on one precise point, a ceiling light spreads it more widely. The models in this collection are IP20 and suit dry rooms: kitchen, dining room, living room, bedroom or hallway. The choice depends on the surface and the available height.
Light for a toilet: can you put an LED pendant there?
In a dry toilet with little height, a compact model works, for example Royal one light. The IP20 rating of this collection does not cover damp areas: bathrooms and rooms exposed to splashes belong to another family of lights. Check the protection rating before fixing anything.
Chandelier for a living room or kitchen pendant: the same models?
Yes, several references cover both rooms. Lunia, Azura, Kibo and the Sphère Céleste are listed for the living room as well as the kitchen. You then adapt the number of points and the cable length to the surface. Scandinavian pendants for the living room open another path when the kitchen stays visible from the lounge, and a single point also lights an entrance hall.
How do you match a pendant to a modern kitchen decor?
Start from the colours already in place: black stands out on a light wall, white blends into a bright kitchen, gold or silver brings an accent. One strong piece above the island is enough, with the other light points staying more discreet.
Modern kitchen decor: which pendant colour should you choose?
Black comes far ahead in this selection, then white, silver, gold and grey. On white fronts and a light wood worktop, a black pendant draws a sharp contrast: see the matte black colours and the black pendants designed for a bedroom. In a dark room, the white metal pendants lighten the line.
Ball, oval or round pendant: which shape for which kitchen?
The ball gathers the light on one point, the oval stretches it above a surface, the tube lines up over a long table. The round shape suits a compact kitchen, the flower shape a more decorative interior. The glass models lighten these volumes. To warm up a very white kitchen, wood pendants bring a natural note, and the rattan material for the table plays the same role in a more summery spirit.
How do you install and maintain a LED kitchen pendant?
Switch off the power before any work, fix the ceiling rose to the ceiling, connect the pendant then adjust the cable length. Cleaning is done with a soft cloth, dry or slightly damp, without abrasive product, on metal as well as glass.
Kitchen pendant: how does assembly work?
Switch off the circuit breaker, identify the wires, fix the ceiling rose with plugs suited to the support, then connect live, neutral and earth when the light has one. Adjust the height last. The models in the selection are IP20.
Glass, metal, iron: which care steps?
Glass is cleaned with a slightly damp microfibre cloth, without a scouring sponge. Metal and iron are wiped dry to avoid marks, brass patinates and only needs a soft cloth. A deposit of cooking grease comes off with warm soapy water, never with solvent.

Which LED pendants for a large table or a small worktop?
For a large table, the multi-point versions spread the lighting: Kibo 3 and Kibo 4 in GU10, Elements 4 and Elements 6 in G9, Royal 4 in E14, Boom 6 in G9. For a narrow worktop, a single-point pendant such as Kibo 1 or Royal 1 is enough.
One-light or multi-light pendant: which to choose?
One light illuminates one area and leaves the rest of the room in a soft mood. Several lights cover the whole length of a surface without creating a shadow gap. Over a table for six, two or three points are usually enough. Above a small surface, a single point avoids visual clutter.
Which model for a kitchen island?
On an island, the light must fall straight down on the surface. The Kibo three-light pendant in black and gold suits a long, dark surface. Elements six lights in white is more discreet under a light ceiling. Cable length and the spacing between points matter as much as style.
| Shape or format | What it gives in a kitchen | Example | Known dimensions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ball | a gathered light point above the island | Sphère Céleste | 15 x 25 cm |
| Oval | a stretched lighting above a surface | Elyps | 20 x 30 cm, 180 cm cable, 10 cm ceiling rose |
| Round | a simple volume for a compact kitchen | Lunia | 36 cm |
| Several points | a light spread over a large table | Kibo 3 and Kibo 4 | not specified |
| Marked height | a large volume for a high ceiling | Azura | 40 x 45 cm, 100 cm total height |
For a very white kitchen, the white version for your kitchen blends into the fronts. A retro spirit in the kitchen works well over a solid wood table. Gold finishes bring a warm accent when the rest of the room is neutral.
Your choice comes down to three things: the length of the table, the socket and the colour. Compare the real dimensions and the cable height on the product pages, then order the model that matches your worktop. Secure payment, tracked delivery and Designix customer service come with the order.
Frequently asked questions
Chandelier for a living room: can you reuse a kitchen pendant?
Yes, several models cover both rooms. The Sphère Céleste, the Kibo, Lunia and Azura pendants are listed for the living room as well as the kitchen. The format and the number of light points are chosen according to the surface to light and the ceiling height.
Large chandelier for a high ceiling: which solution in this collection?
You play on the cable length and the total height. The Elyps pendant offers a 180 cm cable with a 10 cm ceiling rose, the Azura pendant a 100 cm total height. These adjustments let you bring the light down to the right level above the table.
Light for a toilet: can an LED pendant work?
The models in this collection are IP20, so intended for dry rooms: kitchen, dining room, living room, bedroom or hallway. In a dry toilet, a compact pendant such as Royal one light can work. In a damp area, another family of lights is better.
LED ceiling light or LED pendant for a kitchen?
The ceiling light spreads widely in the centre of the room, the pendant concentrates the light on one point: island, worktop or table. In a kitchen, the two can coexist, with the pendant providing the functional lighting above the preparation area.
LED chandelier: what differences from a LED kitchen pendant?
LED chandelier refers to a piece with several light points, often placed in the centre of a room. A LED kitchen pendant tends to bring together one or more points hanging above a surface or a table. The two families overlap here with Kibo, Elements, Royal and Boom.
