Choose a touch wall light on two criteria: its format and its control mode. A 15 cm round or a 30 cm panel suits a narrow wall, a 24 cm round or a double globe takes up more surface. Most of the references in this selection are LED and all are rated IP20, so intended for indoor use.
Which touch wall lights should you choose for a living room?
For a living room, a touch wall light is chosen first on its format and its number of light points. A 30 cm panel or a 15 cm round suits narrow walls, a 24 cm model or a double globe takes up more. The stated power ranges from 5 to 8 W depending on the reference.
Two formats that fit on a narrow wall
The Socella wall light has a compact format: placed above a low unit, it lights a wall without projecting into the room, at 8 W with dimmer. Its slimness limits the visual bulk on a painted wall. A 15 cm round does the same job on a smaller surface, such as the Orina wall light, in white marble effect and 5 W.
Where to place them around the sofa
On either side of the sofa, at seated shoulder height, the grazing light highlights the wall and serves for reading. The gold model Muralla, a 24 cm round in glass and metal stated at 8 W, suits a wide wall. On a narrow wall, compare the formats gathered in the LED wall lights for the living room.
How do you light an adult bedroom with wall lights?
In an adult bedroom, the wall light replaces the bedside lamp and frees the nightstand. Most of the models in the selection light in warm white, from 2700 to 3500 K, a range suited to reading and waking up. Allow for one wall light on each side of the bed, at shoulder height.
Symmetry and mounting height
Two identical wall lights, at the same height, on either side of the bed, generally around 60 to 70 cm above the mattress depending on the height of the bed base. The Lignia wall light combines a 30 cm wood panel with a black support, in integrated 8 W LED. This height prevents the light from falling into the eyes of the person lying next to you.
The touch dimmer at the bedside
When the reference offers it, the touch dimmer lets you brush the luminaire to switch off without getting up and lower the intensity without waking the other person. For this room, browse the models designed for the bedroom. Touch control, however, concerns only part of the selection, to be checked on each product page. The models concerned are gathered in the dimmable references.
Which wall lights should you choose for a hallway and a staircase?
In a hallway or a staircase, the priority goes to the orientation of the light beam. Cylindrical spotlights and adjustable models are directed towards the step or towards the wall, without glare. Distribute the light points evenly along the path to avoid dark areas.
Fixed spotlight or adjustable model
The Alandor spotlight measures Ø 65 mm for H 85 mm: a 3 W point, with dimmer, that stays discreet on a painted wall. Its short shape makes it suitable for narrow passages, entryway, dressing room or toilet. The Valdanara cylinder, H 130 mm and L 45 mm, is more adjustable and suits staircases where the step must remain readable.
Rhythm on a long wall
On a long hallway, space the points evenly and aim for continuous lighting rather than an isolated spotlight. Three to four points are enough for a standard floor, to be adjusted according to the actual length. Find these small formats in the hallway wall lights. For a stairwell, compare the design wall lights for staircases, and for small spaces the models for toilets.
Which format of touch wall light for which room?
The format is chosen first of all according to the available wall width and the surface to be lit. The table lists the dimensions recorded in the selection and the rooms where these models appear most often.
| Format | Recorded dimensions | Rooms concerned | Style |
|---|---|---|---|
| Compact round | Ø 15 cm, depth 5 cm | Living room, bedroom, hallway | Modern |
| Large round | Ø 24 cm, depth 6.2 cm | Living room, bedroom, hallway | Modern |
| Cylindrical spotlight | Ø 65 mm, H 85 mm | Hallway, staircase, entryway, dressing room, toilet | Contemporary |
| Adjustable cylinder | H 130 mm, L 45 mm | Hallway, staircase, bedroom, living room, entryway | Contemporary |
| Rectangular panel | L 15 cm or L 30 cm, depth 5 to 6 cm | Living room, bedroom, hallway | Modern |
| Double globe | 50 x 50 cm | Living room, bedroom, bathroom | Modern and contemporary |
Wet rooms require different thinking: a linear panel of 40 to 120 cm is placed along a mirror. See the bathroom versions for this case.
Which wall lights for an art deco or art nouveau style?
The art deco codes, gold, brass, glass and round shapes, are found in the gold wall lights and the globe or textured glass models in the selection. The art nouveau spirit, more curved, comes closer to round shapes and wood panels. For an old room, these references compose without pastiche.
The codes to reuse
Gold, textured glass and the circle are enough to make a recent wall light dialogue with a moulding or an old mirror. The Iolara wall light, a 17 cm round in metal and gold glass, lights in warm white at 5 W. It is placed alone on a wall, with no other source nearby. A two-globe model completes the approach, the Duo Lumineux, 50 by 50 cm, in brass, glass and iron, fitted with an E27 socket.
One gold point per wall
An isolated gold point structures; repeated over a whole wall, it weighs down the room. The retro-spirited models extend this approach with more pronounced shapes. For a rawer finish, look instead at the vintage metal wall lights and the gold finishes.
Wood or metal wall lights: which material for which room?
Wood brings a light and warm finish, often combined with a black support or a white ring; it appears in living rooms and the bedroom. Black metal structures the wall more, while gold finishes and textured glass attract the light. Both families exist in round or rectangular format.
What wood changes in the room
The Albero wall light combines a circular light wood panel with a white ring, in Ø 15 cm and 5 W. On a beige wall or light wallpaper, the finish remains soft even when lit. This vocabulary is found in the design wood wall lights and, for the bedside, in the wood wall lights for bedrooms.
What black metal structures
The Davora wall light, 30 cm long and 5 cm deep, plays the black marble effect at 8 W. Black metal draws a clean line on a light wall and pairs well with dark joinery. This register is gathered in the black metal wall lights and in the gold and black combination.
Outdoor touch wall lights: is it possible?
None of the touch wall lights in this selection is intended for outdoor use: all are rated IP20, so reserved for indoor use. For a terrace, a porch or a facade, you need a waterproof outdoor wall light with a high protection rating such as IP65. Water resistance then takes priority over the control mode.
An indoor model placed outside will see its electronics and finishes degrade in the first wet season. For sheltered use, look in the waterproof outdoor wall lights. For a facade exposed to rain, go directly to the models rated IP65.
What are the trends for wall lights in 2026?
In this selection, the trends that are confirmed are integrated LED on almost all references, warm white in the majority, black and gold in the lead, round shapes, tubes and panels, and compact formats from 15 to 30 cm. The dimmer remains available on only part of the models.
| Criterion | What the selection offers | To check |
|---|---|---|
| Protection rating | IP20 across the whole selection | Indoor use only |
| Technology | Integrated LED on the majority, E27 socket on part | Replaceability and socket type |
| Stated power | 3 to 70 W depending on the reference | Room size and number of light points |
| Light temperatures | Mainly warm white 2700 to 3500 K, cool white 4500 to 6500 K on part | Desired atmosphere and wall colour |
| Dimmer | Possible on part of the models | Control mode, touch or wall switch |
| Warranty | 2, 3 or 5 years depending on the reference | Duration stated on the product page |
The references with an E27 socket can be found in the E27 wall lights, those that focus on shape in the design LED wall lights. To compare with the rest of the range, all Designix luminaires can be browsed by room and by style.
Once the format and the control mode are settled, the choice narrows quickly. The product page states the socket, the light temperature and the warranty duration, three points that decide daily use. On the shop side: secure payment, tracked delivery, possible returns and Designix customer service to check compatibility before ordering.
Which lamps switch on by touch?
A lamp that switches on by touch has a sensitive area on the luminaire: you brush it with a finger instead of operating a switch. In this selection of wall lights, touch control concerns the models fitted with a touch dimmer. The other references switch on via the wall switch, and the product page states the control mode.
Are there outdoor touch wall lights?
Not in this selection: all the touch wall lights presented are rated IP20, so intended for indoor use. For a terrace, a porch or a facade, you need a waterproof outdoor wall light, with a high protection rating such as IP65. Water resistance then takes priority over the control mode.
Which wall lights for an adult bedroom?
In an adult bedroom, a compact wall light of 15 to 30 cm replaces the bedside lamp and frees the nightstand. Most of the references in the selection light in warm white, from 2700 to 3500 K. Position one on each side of the bed, at shoulder height.
Which wall light for a staircase?
For a staircase, favour an adjustable model or a cylindrical spotlight, directed towards the step or the wall to avoid glare on the way down. The black aluminium versions, Ø 65 mm or 130 mm cylinder, stated at 3 W, stay discreet. Distribute the light points evenly along the path.
How do you choose high-end design wall lights?
The care taken with the finish makes the difference: textured glass, marble effect, black or gold metal, round shapes or rectangular panels of 15 to 30 cm. Then look at the socket, integrated LED or E27, the light temperature and the warranty, from 2 to 5 years depending on the reference.
