Allow 140 cm of span for a kitchen island, 180 cm for a long table, 400 cm for an open living room: that is what separates a tube, a wavy ribbon and an arc. All the neon pendant lights in this selection use warm white LED from 2700 to 3500 K, in aluminium sometimes wrapped in fabric, in a gold or black finish.
What is a neon pendant light and what light does it give?
A designer neon pendant light is an LED fixture whose diffuser follows the line of a tube. Here, three families: the straight or wavy tube, the long-span arc and the wavy ribbon. All diffuse a warm white of 2700 to 3500 K, with no visible glare point, and hang from the ceiling by a cable.
LED neon pendant light or fluorescent neon: what changes?
A fluorescent tube contains mercury, heats up and is replaced together with its ballast. The LED version built into these pendants needs neither a replacement tube nor a ballast: the aluminium profile carries the source along its whole length, including the 400 cm of the arc. The rendering stays even from one end of the diffuser to the other. To place these models among the other LED models, the comparison is made on light temperature and shape, not on wattage alone.
A warm white light, for what atmosphere?
Between 2700 and 3500 K, the light leans towards amber: it warms a tabletop, a raw material, a pale wall, without the clinical effect of a cold white above 4000 K. It is the range that suits dinner and the evening. In a large volume, this tint unifies the drawing of the fixture with the rest of the room. The rest of the Designix lighting catalogue follows the same temperature logic, which lets you mix sources without creating a colour patch on the ceiling.
To install an LED profile on the ceiling, a pendant kit with adjustable cables and suitable fixings simplifies the job.
Which neon pendant light for a kitchen?
In a kitchen, the neon pendant light goes above an island or a worktop, as a tube or a ribbon, to light hands and surface without blocking the view. The gold or black and gold aluminium models suit open kitchens; they are IP20, so dry zone only.
Italian design kitchen pendant light: what does that change?
What sets the Italian line apart is the slimness of the profile and the continuous curve: a tube only 18 cm wide, a gold or black finish, sometimes a fabric wrap that breaks the reflection of the metal. Placed above an island, the fixture reads as a line and not as a block. It should hang low enough for the light to fall on the worktop, while keeping the view towards the room. To widen the comparison, browse the kitchen pendant lights and note the shapes that fit the available width.
Original kitchen pendant light: tube, arc or ribbon?
Over a straight island, the wavy tube of the Jovita black and gold takes up 140 cm and draws a regular wave above the worktop. Over a long table or a 180 cm island, the Zorina wavy ribbon multiplies the curves and fills the space. The arc needs height and clearance: it is reserved for open kitchens. On the finish side, the gold finishes warm a wooden worktop, while the black models blend into a dark wall.
Which pendant light for a modern living room?
In a living room, a neon pendant light in a long-span arc dresses the volume above the sofa or the coffee table. The 400 cm arcs cover a large living room, the 140 to 180 cm tubes suit more compact rooms. The warm white light stays even along the whole length.
Modern living room pendant light: centre of the ceiling or above the sofa?
In the centre, the arc structures the room and follows the circulation. Above the sofa, it creates a reading corner without lighting the opposite wall. The choice depends on the clear height: a 400 cm arc hung too low gets in the eye line. The living room pendant lights should therefore be read with a tape measure in hand, not by eye. The Uvello flexible arc, in gold aluminium, follows a wide curve that fills the void; the Zenica black arc plays the same line in a dark version, more discreet on a painted ceiling.
Long length or compact format: how to decide?
A living room of more than 30 m² takes a 400 cm span. Below that, a 140 or 180 cm is enough and avoids the ribbon-stuck-to-the-ceiling effect. Measure the width of the furniture to be lit: a 180 cm table calls for a fixture of a similar length. To compare the drawings, the modern living room looks show the same type of curve in different volumes.
XXL pendant light for high ceilings and staircases: which dimensions to choose?
For a high ceiling or a stairwell, choose a span long enough for the fixture to descend into the field of view: the selection ranges from 140 to 400 cm. Two models are listed for staircases; the 400 cm arcs are intended for the living room, dining room and kitchen.
Staircase pendant light: why a long span?
In a stairwell, the light must come down to light the steps, not just the ceiling. A 180 cm profile, like the one on the Zorina, fills the void and is visible from the stairs. The fixture stays out of reach and is fixed firmly to the support. For other vertical layouts, compare with all the pendant lights in the shop.
High ceiling: how to measure before fixing?
Measure the ceiling height, then the distance between the anchor point and the top of the steps or the furniture to be lit. The cable is adjusted on installation, the fixture must stay out of shoulder reach. On a ceiling of more than 3 m, a short span leaves a dark gap between the ceiling and the diffuser. The cable length matters as much as the profile length.
How to choose between a tube, an arc and a wavy ribbon?
The tube, straight or wavy, draws a clean line and takes little width; the arc curves through the space and suits large volumes; the wavy ribbon multiplies the curves over 180 cm. All are in aluminium, some wrapped in fabric, in a gold or black finish.
| Model | Shape | Finish | Dimensions | Power | Rooms |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jovita | Wavy tube | Black and gold | 18 x 140 cm | 30 W | Kitchen, dining room, living room, staircase |
| Gavina | Curved tube | Gold | 18 x 140 cm | 30 W | Living room, dining room, kitchen |
| Zorina | Wavy ribbon | Gold | 18 x 180 cm | 21 W | Kitchen, dining room, living room, staircase |
| Uvello | Flexible tube arc | Gold | 400 cm | 40 W | Living room, dining room, kitchen |
| Zenica | Modern arc | Black | 400 cm | 40 W | Living room, dining room, kitchen |
Flexible neon pendant light: what does that allow?
The term flexible tube describes the curve given to the profile in the workshop, not a fixture you bend at home. The shape is fixed at manufacture. What is adjusted on installation is the cable height and the orientation of the fixture. The Uvello arc takes advantage of this flexibility to cover 400 cm in a single gesture, with no visible angle.
Original pendant light: which shape moves away from the straight tube?
The wavy ribbon is the most drawn variant: successive waves over 180 cm, which fill a volume without closing it. The wavy tube works the same idea over 140 cm, with a more contained amplitude. To place these shapes among the designer pendant lights, look at the design line of the shop: the difference lies in the thickness of the line and the number of curves, never in the material.
Industrial or vintage neon pendant light: how to match it to a modern decor?
Searches for industrial or vintage neon pendant light target exposed tubes and dark or copper finishes. This selection stays in a modern register: aluminium, arcs and tubes, black or gold. Black comes closer to the industrial spirit, gold softens the line for a reading corner or a bedroom.
Industrial neon pendant light: which finish comes closest?
Matte black on aluminium is what comes closest to a black model with a workshop spirit, especially on a brick or concrete wall. The slim structure of the profile avoids the exposed-pipe look. For a softer result, the modern lines in gold work with pale wood and natural fabrics.
Designer bedroom pendant light: which model above the bed?
Above a bed, you want a low, unobtrusive line: a 140 cm tube stays within the scale of a bedroom. The warm white light suits evening reading. A bedroom pendant light is better placed across the bed than in the centre of the room, to avoid lighting the empty space. The fabric wrap, present on three models, softens the reflection above the bed base.
How to install and maintain an LED neon pendant light?
The LED neon pendant light is a complete fixture: the LED source is built in, there is no bulb to change. It is fixed to the ceiling and wired to the mains like a conventional fixture. Aluminium is dusted with a soft cloth, fabric is cleaned without aggressive products. 5-year warranty on the selection.
| Criterion | Value in the selection | What it implies |
|---|---|---|

| Protection rating | IP20 | Dry rooms only |
| Material | Aluminium, sometimes combined with fabric | Slim structure, cloth cleaning |
| Power | 21, 30 or 40 W | To choose according to the area to light |
| Warranty | 5 years | Coverage over time |
Can you change the bulb of an LED neon pendant light?
No: the base is LED type and the module is fixed in the profile. There is no socket to screw in and no tube to buy. If in doubt about a model, the Designix customer service answers before the order. The metal pendant lights in the shop follow the same construction, with a built-in source.
How to clean aluminium and fabric?
A soft dry cloth is enough on gold or black aluminium: it removes dust without marking the finish. On the fabric wrap, use a soft brush or a slightly damp cloth, without detergent. Avoid glass sprays, which leave marks on the metal. For a tight budget, the affordable models show the current price directly in the grid.
Bathroom, outdoor: which neon pendant light can be installed?
The models in this selection are IP20: they are intended for dry rooms and withstand neither splashes nor humidity. For a bathroom, you need a protection rating of at least IP44, and more for outdoor use. An IP20 neon pendant light therefore stays in the kitchen, living room, dining room or a sheltered staircase.
Why is IP20 not enough in a bathroom?
IP20 means the fixture is protected against solid objects larger than 12 mm and against no water ingress. In a bathroom, steam and splashes attack the components and the profile. It is better to direct a neon pendant light towards the dining area or a dry hallway.
Which rooms accept an IP20 pendant light?
Kitchen, living room, dining room and staircase: the four rooms mentioned on the product pages of the selection. A porch or a covered terrace should still be avoided without a higher rating. For the other rooms of the house, compare with the pendant lights sorted by use.
All the pieces in the selection are covered by a 5-year warranty, with secure payment, tracked delivery, possible returns and Designix customer service for any question on fixing or maintenance.
One last reference point before ordering: note the length of the furniture to be lit and the ceiling height, then choose the corresponding shape. The Gavina in gold curved tube of 140 cm suits a standard dining room, the 400 cm arc is reserved for large volumes. These two measurements alone decide the model.
Frequently asked questions
How can I replace my neon with an LED neon?
A fluorescent tube neon is replaced by a complete LED fixture: the tube and its ballast are removed, then a fixture wired to the mains is installed. In this selection, the LED source is built into the pendant light: there is neither a tube to restock nor a ballast to provide.
Which lamp lights the most?
It is not the wattage that indicates the lighting, but the lumen output written on the product page. In this selection, the powers range from 21 to 40 W: for a large room, compare the lumens of the models and favour the 40 W arcs.
Tree pendant light: what is it?
A tree pendant light is a fixture whose arms start from a central point and branch out, often with several diffusers. That is not the shape of the models in this collection, which play on a tube, an arc or a wavy aluminium ribbon.
Flexible neon pendant light: does it twist?
The term flexible tube describes the curve of the profile, not a fixture you bend at will: the shape is fixed at manufacture. The wavy ribbon, for its part, is already formed into successive waves. Only the orientation of the fixture is chosen at the time of installation.
What is the warranty of a neon pendant light?
The selection is covered by a 5-year warranty, whatever the finish chosen, gold or black. Designix customer service remains your contact for any question on the fixture, its fixing or its maintenance.
