Plan for one hanging light source per area to be lit: a chandelier 45 to 60 cm wide in a small living room, 80 to 120 cm in a large one, and an elongated composition above a rectangular table. The entire selection runs on LED, rated IP20, with GU10, E27, E14, G4 or G9 sockets and a two-year warranty.
What is a modern LED chandelier and what light does it give?
A modern LED chandelier brings several light sources together in one pendant: glass balls, tiered discs, rings, branches or drops. The composition draws a silhouette on the ceiling and spreads light across the whole room instead of concentrating it on one point. Depending on the model, the tone ranges from a soft warm white to a crisper cool white.
Modern LED chandelier: what LED technology changes in the room
LED gives off little heat and lasts longer than a filament bulb, without changing the way light falls on the walls. Moving from a halogen fixture to a modern LED chandelier means changing the whole light, not just the bulb. The rendering changes too: a milky disc, faceted glass or a crystal drop each diffuse light differently, and that material matters more than the stated wattage.
LED light: pendant, chandelier or ceiling light, how to decide
A chandelier hangs and strongly marks a zone. A ceiling light sits flush and suits low ceilings. In between, a simple pendant relies on a single light point. A multi-point model such as Reya with its tiered discs lights a wide area without multiplying fixtures. To compare the families, browse all our lights, then the modern-style LED chandeliers that form the heart of this selection.
Modern LED chandelier for the living room: which size and height?
Diameter decides everything in a living room. A 45 to 60 cm model is enough in a small room, an 80 to 120 cm one fills a large space, and a long composition is only justified in an open living area where there is room to walk around it. Hang it in the centre of the area to be lit, never in a walkway.
Living room chandeliers: which diameter for which surface?
| Room | Sizes in the collection | Styles found | Shapes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Living room | 40, 45, 60, 63, 80, 90, 100, 120 and 130 cm, long compositions up to 200 and 300 cm | Modern, contemporary, industrial, bohemian | Ball, oval, tube |
| Dining room | 45, 60, 63, 79, 80, 100, 110 and 120 cm, lengths up to 150 cm | Modern, contemporary, industrial, vintage | Ball, oval, round |
| Bedroom | 40, 45, 50, 60, 80, 100 and 120 cm | Modern, contemporary, industrial, nordic | Ball, oval |
| Kitchen | 26, 40, 55, 80, 90, 100 and 120 cm | Modern, contemporary, industrial, nordic | Tube, ball |
| Hallway | 30, 40, 50 and 60 cm | Modern, contemporary, industrial | Ball, tube |
Modern LED chandelier for the living room: centre of the room or above the dining corner?
A large living room is often treated in two zones: a round, more discreet composition in the centre, and a stronger piece above the dining corner. A composition of rings and cylinders such as Anella fills that central role, while a model with golden globes such as Lumiya warms a living area with light wood. To refine your choice, compare the LED chandeliers designed for the living room with the contemporary pieces to hang in a living room. If your interior stays light and understated, a glass model changes the palette little: see the glass compositions for living rooms.
Which modern LED chandelier for a dining room?
Above a table, keep the width narrower than the tabletop, often between 60 and 100 cm, so the eye travels beyond the light. Round table, round shape; rectangular table, elongated composition. The height should let you see the guests from one end to the other without getting the light source in your eyes.
Dining room chandelier: oval, round or long composition?
A round table takes a round chandelier or a well-centred oval bowl. A rectangular table calls for a bar, an elongated oval or a composition of several aligned globes. A model with eight textured glass globes such as Seni covers a medium table, and a piece with golden drops such as Orvieta makes more of an evening meal. For a more industrial mood, a model with a bar and opal globes such as Yria lights straight onto the tabletop. Find these formats in the dining room chandeliers and the design pieces above the table.
Design pendant: what height above the table?
As a rule, place the bottom of the light about 70 to 80 cm above the tabletop, a little more if the room is tall, a little less for more intimate light. This guide holds for a dining table; above a worktop, raise it to keep the view clear. The real criterion remains how it feels: nobody should meet their gaze in a bulb.
GU10, E27, E14, G4 or G9 socket: how to find your way?
The socket decides the shape of the beam and how easy replacement is. GU10 sends directed light, E27 and E14 take common screw bulbs, G4 and G9 equip compositions with many small light points. All models in the collection are LED and rated IP20, so for indoor use only.
| Socket | Models in the collection | Type of light | Rooms where they recur |
|---|---|---|---|
| GU10 | Reya, Orvieta, Lorano, Nora, Tona | Directed beam, spotlight effect | Living room, bedroom, dining room |
| E27 | Candela, Anella, Veridia, Lera | Screw bulb, wide diffusion | Living room, dining room, kitchen |
| E14 | Ario, Seni, Lumiya | Small screw socket, globes | Living room, bedroom, dining room, kitchen |
| G4 | Sphère Éclatante, Yria | Very small light points | Living room, dining room, kitchen |
| G9 | Qale | Compact pin socket | Living room, bedroom, kitchen, dining room |
GU10 or E27 socket: which to choose for a chandelier?
GU10 concentrates light: on a composition of discs or fringes, such as Lorano, it draws sharp patches on the walls and creates relief. E27 diffuses more widely and is easy to replace, which suits living spaces where you want even light. The choice therefore depends on the effect you want, not on maintenance alone.
G4 and G9: the small sockets of globe compositions
These two sockets equip chandeliers with many light points, where each globe is a detail. A model with branches and bulbs such as Qale uses G9 to multiply the glints without weighing down the silhouette. For this type of frame, compare the contemporary metal frames and the silver finishes, more discreet on a white ceiling.
Warm white or cool white: which colour temperature to choose?
Warm white, around 2700 to 3500 K, gives a soft yellow light, suited to the living room, bedroom and meals. Cool white, from 4500 to 6500 K, makes whites crisper and suits kitchens, hallways and work areas. Some models in the collection exist in only one of the two tones, and this point should be checked before choosing the shape.
Warm white 2700 to 3500 K: for which rooms?
This is the tone for rooms where you slow down: living room, bedroom, dining corner. A crystal chandelier such as Nébula benefits from staying in warm white, because the reflections take on a golden shade instead of a bluish glint. For an interior in soft tones, find these models in the hanging bedroom lights.
Cool white 4500 to 6500 K: where to use it without regret?
Cool white helps where you want to see clearly: worktops, entrances, hallways. A model with globes and cones such as Veridia works in an open kitchen without yellowing food. Avoid it above a dining table, where it hardens the mood. The LED chandeliers to install in a kitchen gather the models that serve this purpose.
Black, gold or white modern LED chandelier: which finish to choose?
Gold, present on most models, warms a living room with light wood. Black structures the room and contrasts with a light wall. White blends into a ceiling of the same tone, silver stays understated against grey. One strong finish per room is enough, otherwise the light competes with the rest of the decor.
Black modern LED chandelier: on which wall and with which table?
Black draws a crisp silhouette and pairs well with a light wall, a kitchen with matte fronts or a dark wood table. A composition with radiating branches such as Nora comes in a light version and a black version, so you can keep the same shape and change only the effect. See the black and graphic versions for this register.
Gold-toned chandeliers: how to avoid overdoing it?
Gold is content with a single strong point. If the light is gold, keep the table, taps and handles in neutral tones. The gold finishes then sit without overloading the room, and an all-white room can stay white: in that case, look instead at the all-white models, which let the material speak without depending on colour. Glass, crystal, acrylic, feather, linen and metal already bring the necessary relief; cleaning follows the material: soft cloth for glass and crystal, dry cloth on black metal to avoid marks, dry dusting on feather.
Modern, bohemian or crystal chandelier: which style for which room?
This selection is led by modern and contemporary, with industrial, nordic, vintage and bohemian variations. Crystal and glass suit reception rooms, feather and linen soften a bedroom, acrylic and aluminium keep a light silhouette despite the size.
Modern chandelier or luxury crystal chandelier?
Crystal brings reflections and glints that change with daylight. A gold composition with eighteen light points such as Sphère Éclatante plays that centrepiece role in a living room or dining room. For something more spectacular, browse the more spectacular pieces, then the crystal with crisp reflections, where brass and copper often accompany the material.
Bohemian feather or linen chandelier: for which room?
Feather and linen soften a bedroom or a living room with natural materials. A model such as Lera brings volume without visual weight, with an E27 socket. Conversely, an industrial piece with cones and metal arms such as Ario structures a living area or hallway. The nordic style relies on simple lines, glass and light tones: it works well in a living room, dining room or bedroom in neutral tones, with an E14 or E27 socket.
How to install and care for a modern LED chandelier?
A modern LED chandelier is fixed to the ceiling on its bracket, wired to the mains and fitted with bulbs of the right socket. All models are IP20, so for indoor use only, away from very damp rooms. The two-year warranty covers the whole selection.
How to hang a modern LED chandelier from the ceiling?
Switch off the power at the breaker, locate the original fixing point on the ceiling and fit the light bracket onto it, without improvising a plug in a hollow ceiling. Then hang the chandelier, adjust the cable length for an even height below the ceiling, and connect. Dimming is only possible on some models, to be checked before buying. For a large living area, the modern models to hang in a living room gather the relevant sizes.
How to clean glass, crystal and acrylic without damaging them?
Glass and crystal are cleaned with a soft cloth, without abrasive products, so as not to dull the facets. Acrylic and milky discs are dusted with a microfibre cloth, without standing water. On feather, stick to dry dusting. Gold metal takes a slightly damp cloth, dried straight away.

Frequently asked questions
What is a design chandelier?
A design chandelier is a hanging light that brings several light sources together in a crafted composition: balls, tubes, rings, discs or branches. In this collection, all run on LED, with an IP20 rating and a two-year warranty.
Living room chandeliers: how to choose the right model?
Start from the surface area and ceiling height: a diameter of 45 to 60 cm is enough in a small living room, 80 to 120 cm in a large one. The finish follows the furniture, and the socket of the model determines the type of bulb to plan for.
Luxury design decor object: can a modern LED chandelier play that role?
Yes, as soon as the composition becomes the focal point of the room: crystal, brass, copper, faceted glass or radiating branches. These models remain LED and IP20, so they bring the look of a decorative piece without changing the installation constraints of an indoor light.
Can a halogen design chandelier be replaced by a modern LED chandelier?
Yes, but it is the light that changes, not just the bulb. Check the socket of the chosen model, E27, E14, GU10, G4 or G9, as well as dimmer compatibility, present on some models only.
