Count on a warm white light, between 2700 and 3500 K, for a modern brass chandelier: the gold warms up and the woodwork stands out. Cool white, between 4500 and 6500 K, is also available on models with integrated LED and G9 socket, for a cleaner living room.
What light does a modern brass chandelier give in a living room?
The gold reflects light upwards and to the sides, which lights the walls as much as the floor. A modern brass chandelier placed in the centre of the living room therefore gives an enveloping general light, provided you choose the right colour temperature and the right type of source.
Warm white or cool white: what light for a living room?
Warm white, around 2700 to 3500 K, dominates in living spaces: it slightly yellows the light and softens the metal. It suits the evening, reading, dinners. Cool white, between 4500 and 6500 K, makes lines sharper and reflections more graphic, useful in a very bright living room or on a white wall. The LED chandeliers in the selection offer both temperatures, to be checked on each product page.
Integrated LED or bulb: what difference in daily use?
Three setups coexist. The integrated LED module cannot be replaced: nothing to buy afterwards, but no freedom on colour. The E27 socket accepts a screw-in bulb, which you change and whose temperature you choose; this is the case with the Mireno chandelier and its amber globes, rated at 40 W. The G9 socket, smaller, equips slim arms such as the Gwapa chandelier with black arms.
Which modern brass chandelier for each room of the house?
The choice is made first by room, then by style. The whole selection is IP20 and warm white, two models accept cool white, only one takes a dimmer. The Designix lighting can therefore be read room by room.
| Room | What we look for | To check on the product page |
|---|---|---|
| Living room | A warm white general light, a model that remains a focal point | Suspension height, socket, dimmer |
| Dining room | A chandelier above the table, without dazzling the guests | Suspension length, shape, temperature |
| Bedroom | A soft and warm rendering | Socket, warm white, no direct reflection |
| Staircase | A model that fills a large vertical void | Total length, number of points, material |
| Kitchen | A clear light and simple maintenance | IP20 outside wet zone, smooth material |
| Hallway or corridor | A compact model that dresses a passage | Dimensions, socket, gold or black |
Modern kitchen chandelier and deco for modern kitchen: what rules?
In the kitchen, we look for a clear light and a fixture that is easy to wipe. A compact model above an island works if the free height allows it; the collection is IP20, so to be installed outside splash zones and away from the sink. To go further, see the kitchen lighting with LED and the glass chandeliers, whose globes can be cleaned with a cloth.
Dining room, bedroom, staircase: which format to choose?
Above a table, the suspension is adjusted in height before tightening and the fixture must remain above the guests' line of sight. In a bedroom, a single-point model is enough, in warm white. In a staircase, you need length: the stairwell models descend into the void and are seen from the landing as well as from the entrance.
Chic and modern chandelier: which finish and which style to choose?
Gold is the common finish across the whole selection, often combined with matte black. Shapes vary: prismatic tubes, amber glass globes, slim arms, gold reflectors. A chic and modern chandelier remains understated: little visible material, readable lines, a colour that matches the rest of the room.
Vintage or contemporary brass chandelier: how to decide?
Vintage plays on patina, curves and amber globes, like the Mireno. Contemporary stays on straight lines and a cleaner gold, like the metal lighting in the selection. Both coexist: a gold-finished model goes very well with old furniture, and a Éclat Prismique prismatic tube chandelier brings crystal without falling into the classic.
Gold and black: how to match the two colours in a living room?
The duo works when black is echoed elsewhere: sofa legs, frame, handles, lamp base. Without this echo, the chandelier looks isolated. On the materials side, crystal and brass reflect light, while black metal absorbs it and draws the silhouette.
What are the trendy chandeliers today?
Silhouettes are getting lighter: slim arms in gold metal, glass globes, crystal tubes on a vertical axis, often enhanced with matte black. Warm white remains the majority, with cool white variants on models with LED or G9 socket.
Globe, tube or ball: which shape to choose?
The globe diffuses widely and suits tall rooms; it requires regular cleaning because it shows marks. The tube, prismatic or smooth, gives a more graphic design and gathers less dust on its flat faces. The ball and the square play on perceived volume: more compact in appearance, easier to place in a small living room. See the table design for low shapes.
Which colours dominate in modern decoration?
Gold and black, with amber glass that warms the whole. A light wall lets the brass stand out; a dark wall requires a brighter model. The gold finishes match light woods as well as mineral worktops.
How do I know if my chandelier is brass?
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc: it does not attract a magnet, takes on a warm patina over time and weighs more than gold-painted sheet metal. A simple gold finish remains shiny and uniform. On an old model, look inside the mount and at the areas that are rarely rubbed.
Solid brass, plated brass or simple gold finish?
Solid brass is recognised by its weight and by the colour that varies slightly from one area to another. Plated brass shows a different material inside the mount or under the arms. A gold finish, on the other hand, is perfectly regular and lighter. None of these three families changes the use: only the durability differs.
Brass chandelier that tarnishes: what to do?
Patina is part of the material and many people look for it. A soft dry cloth is enough for dust; avoid abrasive powders and acidic products. Rubbing hard on a patinated area creates a visible difference in tone. Cut the power before any handling.
How to install and maintain a modern brass chandelier?
All models in the selection are IP20: they are installed indoors, outside wet rooms. Fixing is done at the ceiling suspension point, alignment is adjusted before tightening.
| Socket | Source | Temperatures | Rooms that benefit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Integrated LED | Module, no bulb to change | Warm white and cool white | Living room, dining room, staircase |
| E27 | Screw-in bulb, freely chosen | Warm white | Dining room, bedroom, hallway |
| G9 | Small pin bulb | Warm white and cool white, dimmer possible | Living room, corridor, staircase |
How to adjust the suspension height according to the room?
Above a table, a clearance of about 75 to 80 cm is generally left between the tabletop and the bottom of the fixture, a little more if the room is tall. In a staircase, the total length counts: the Mireno descends to 150 cm. For narrow spaces, see the narrow corridors and the entrance halo.
How to clean a brass chandelier without scratching it?
Soft cloth, dry for dust, slightly damp on the glass. No scraper, no abrasive sponge. On amber globes, proceed globe by globe, after cutting the power. The exceptional pieces in crystal are handled with gloves to avoid marks.
Chandelier or wall light in a modern living room?
A chandelier occupies the centre of the room and lights widely; a wall light lights a wall, a reading corner or a passage. In a living room, the two complement each other: the chandelier gives the general light, the wall light highlights a painting or a sofa.
Chandelier, wall light and modern wc decoration: what light for small volumes?
In a corridor, an entrance or a toilet, a compact model is enough and avoids clutter. IP20 remains the rule as soon as you leave the bathroom. For a small volume, a single well-placed light point is preferred to two weak sources. See also the dining room chandeliers for rooms with a table.
How to distribute chandelier and wall lights in a living room?
We start from the existing electrical points: the chandelier is placed at the ceiling suspension point, the wall light on a wall already supplied or prepared. Superimposition works if the wall light remains lower than the chandelier and does not dazzle from the sofa. For a softer rendering, the modern LED chandeliers for living room can be dimmed.
Brass chandelier price: what makes the price vary?
The price depends on the real material, the number of light points, the socket, the presence of a dimmer and the size of the model. Crystal and brass place a model higher than a metal and glass assembly. Each product page shows the current price, with a two-year warranty.
Brass chandeliers for sale: how to spot a durable model?
We look at the stated material, the standard socket (E27 or G9, easy to restock), the presence of a dimmer and the warranty. A fixture whose bulb can be replaced lives longer than a sealed module. The gold-coloured brass chandeliers and the full lighting range can thus be compared product page by product page.
Should you choose a model with a dimmer?
The dimmer changes the use: bright light for entertaining, low light in the evening. It requires a compatible bulb, which excludes some low-end sources. Only one model in the selection offers one, the Gwapa with G9 socket. For a bedroom, compare with the gold finishes for bedroom.

Frequently asked questions about modern brass chandeliers
How do I know if my chandelier is brass?
Brass does not attract a magnet, takes on a more matte gold patina over the years and weighs more than lacquered sheet metal. Look at the areas that are rarely touched, inside the mount or under the arms: the original colour remains visible there. A very shiny and perfectly uniform gold often signals a simple finish.
What are the trendy chandeliers?
Lightened silhouettes dominate: slim arms in gold metal, glass globes, crystal tubes on a vertical axis, with gold finishes often combined with matte black. On the light side, warm white remains the most common, and some models accept a dimmer to modulate the intensity in the evening.
Which modern chandelier for a living room?
A model that diffuses in warm white and remains readable without dominating the room: slim gold arms, glass globes or crystal tubes. Check the suspension height, the socket and the possible presence of a dimmer, useful for lowering the light in the evening.
Can a modern brass chandelier be installed in a staircase?
Yes, the staircase is one of the rooms covered by the selection. Choose a model with a long suspension or several light points to fill the vertical void, checking the total length of the fixture and the available height under the ceiling.
How to maintain a modern brass chandelier?
A soft dry cloth is enough for dust; avoid abrasive powders and acidic products that attack the gold finish. On brass that patinates, it is better to accept the tone than to rub hard. Cut the power before any handling.
