Start by measuring the diameter: 40 to 60 cm above a table or seating area, up to 100 cm for a large space. Crystal brings the sparkle, gold or silver metal the structure, and every chandelier in this selection is IP20 rated, so intended for indoor use.
Which luxury chandelier should you choose for a living room or dining room?
Luxury chandelier for a living room, what diameter and what light?
A chandelier changes the table: above a tabletop it brings out the wood and the china, and its reflections rise to the ceiling in the evening. Allow 40 to 60 cm in diameter for a seating area or a table, up to 100 cm for a large space. The Shining Sphere Chandelier comes in 55 and 57 cm with E27 sockets, which leaves the choice of bulb open. The crystal pieces designed for the living room throw back more sparkle, while opal glass diffuses more softly.
Luxury chandelier in crystal or gold metal, how do you decide?
Crystal gives the reflections and the depth; gold or silver metal holds the structure and can be spotted from afar. In the selection, Seralune, Caelestis and Ondaluna work crystal on gold arms. The Viviette crystal cascade does the opposite and plays on a downward fall of drops. One point to check before hanging: Iridessa, a round pendant with drops, weighs 41 kg, which calls for a ceiling and a fixing point up to it.
What size of luxury chandelier for which room?
Luxury designer chandelier in sphere, cascade or dome shape?
Shape matters as much as diameter. The collection covers discs of 40, 50, 55 and 60 cm, a 100 cm model, cascades of 60 x 110 cm and sets from 60 x 26.5 cm to 100 x 30 cm. The opal globes measure 13 and 8 cm, the ceiling rose 12 cm. A sphere concentrates the light, a cascade stretches it upwards, a dome throws it downwards. The designer dining room shapes lean more towards circles and tubes.
Do you need a large chandelier in a small living room?
No. A small space takes a tighter model better than a large disc, which overwhelms the room and gets in the way. Above a table, the pendant is generally set around 75 to 85 cm from the tabletop: high enough to see the person opposite, low enough for the light to fall on the table. In a room with a low ceiling, a round, compact chandelier works better than a cascade.
| Room | Format recorded | Most common style | Light |
|---|---|---|---|
| Living room | 40 to 60 cm, up to 100 cm in a large space | Luxury, modern, contemporary | Warm white or cool white |
| Dining room | 40 to 60 cm above the table | Modern, contemporary | Warm white or cool white |
| Kitchen | Compact formats, opal globes and tubes | Modern, industrial | Warm white |
| Bedroom | Round models or opal globes | Contemporary, boho | Warm white |
| Large space and studio | Cascade 60 x 110 cm, 100 cm disc | Luxury, boho | Warm white or cool white |
Unsure about the format? Give Designix customer service the length of your table and the ceiling height, and they will confirm compatibility before you order.
What light does a luxury chandelier give, warm white or cool white?
E27, G9, G4 or E14 socket, which should you choose?
The socket decides the bulb, and therefore the result. The collection uses four families: E27, the most common and the easiest to replace, G9 and G4, small pin formats for models with many light points, and E14 for textured glass globes. The wattages recorded range from 6 to 42 W depending on the model. A sixteen-bulb G4 chandelier does not light the same way as a five-bulb E27 sphere.
LED chandeliers and dimmers, what does it change day to day?
Part of the selection is fitted with LED, which simplifies maintenance: no bulbs to buy again, no calibration to redo. The dimmer, available on only a few models, moves from dining light to late-evening light without changing the bulb. On temperature, warm white from 2700 to 3500 K stays close to a filament bulb, cool white from 4500 to 6500 K makes reading sharper.
| Socket | Bulb required | Temperatures recorded | Where you find it |
|---|---|---|---|
| E27 | Large screw socket | Warm white 2700-3500 K and cool white 4500-6500 K | Chandeliers with exposed bulbs and spheres |
| G9 | Small pin socket | Warm white 2700-3500 K and cool white 4500-6500 K | Models with drops, discs or globes |
| G4 | Very small pin socket | Warm white and cool white | Chandeliers with many light points |
| E14 | Small screw socket | Warm white 2700-3500 K | Chandeliers with textured glass globes |
How do you recognise an original chandelier in a luxury interior scheme?
Modern or boho luxury chandelier, what is the difference?
Modern works the line: radiating arms, opal tubes, circles and metal arms and circles, as on Essence Lumineuse. Boho embraces organised disorder, with cut drops, curved branches and painted flowers, like Ondaluna. For that register, look at the crystal with drops and free branches.
Luxury designer decor piece, why does the chandelier matter as much as the furniture?
Because it occupies the highest and emptiest point in the room, and it is the only object whose appearance changes when the light comes on. Caelestis lines up cut drops, Luminéa Flore discs and opal globes, Seni eight textured glass globes. These opal glass globes give a wrapping light. The styles on offer run from luxury to contemporary, via boho and industrial.
In which rooms should you install a luxury chandelier?
Kitchen chandeliers, what precautions before choosing?
Keep your distance from cooking and steam zones. The whole selection is IP20, so intended for a dry interior and not for a damp room. A compact format, in globes or opal tubes, works better than a large disc above an island. The models designed for the kitchen stay within those proportions.
A luxury chandelier in a bedroom, a good idea?
Yes, provided you aim for low, diffuse light rather than a spotlight. A round model or one with opal globes on the ceiling, completed by discreet sources for the bedroom, gives soft general lighting. The selection mostly targets large studio-style spaces, then the living room and dining room; the bedroom and kitchen remain more occasional.
What are the luxury chandelier brands?
The selection is put together by Designix and brings together crystal, gold or silver metal, iron, glass and aluminium. Rather than the logo, compare the product listing: stated material, socket, light temperature, protection rating and weight. The whole range can be browsed in our lighting selection, and Designix customer service answers on compatibility, height or weight before purchase.
How do you install and care for a luxury chandelier?
What fixing point for a heavy crystal chandelier?
Switch off the power at the breaker before any work, then check that the fixing point supports the real weight of the fixture. A crystal chandelier with many branches is heavy: Iridessa reaches 41 kg. On an old ceiling or plasterboard, have an electrician fit a mounting plate or a support bar, never a makeshift plug. Work out the final height before drilling.
How do you care for crystal, gold metal and glass?
Crystal and drops should be dusted regularly, dry or slightly damp, without systematic dismantling. Gold or silver metal is wiped with a soft cloth, without abrasive products that attack the finish. Opal globes and textured glass are cleaned gently, with warm water. IP20 restates the rule: dry interiors only.
How do you match a luxury chandelier to a luxury home scheme?
Luxury designer ceiling light or chandelier, which one on the ceiling?
The chandelier structures a large space, the ceiling light illuminates a lower room without drawing the eye. If your ceiling is low, a ceiling light or a tight round model is better than a cascade. Then choose a single family of finish for the home. The contemporary gold models do not mix with silver finishes in the same room.
Luxury bedside lamp and chandelier, how do you make them talk to each other?
Repeat the same metal from one room to the next, gold or silver, and spread the intensities: a large chandelier in the living room, lower and more diffuse light in the bedroom with a matching supplementary light. In a luxury home scheme, consistency of finishes matters more than piling up objects. Crystal and textured glass sit well together; two different metals much less so.
Secure payment, tracked delivery, returns and Designix customer service accompany every order. Before you confirm, measure the table length to be covered and the clear height under the fixture: that is what separates two models of similar diameter.
Frequently asked questions about luxury chandeliers
What are the trend chandeliers for 2026?
The selection highlights crystal worked into drops, cascades or spheres, gold and silver finishes, and structures in metal, glass or opal tubes, with a share of LED models. These are the directions the collection follows today.
Which luxury chandelier for a living room?
A living room chandelier is chosen by volume: 40 to 60 cm in diameter suits a seating area or a table, while a large space takes 100 cm. Crystal or opal glass give the sparkle, in warm white for a settled mood.
Can you install a chandelier in a kitchen?
Yes, provided you respect the protection rating: the models are IP20, intended for dry interiors. In a kitchen, keep the chandelier away from cooking and steam zones, and prefer a compact format that does not get in the way.
How do you complete a chandelier with a luxury bedside lamp?
A luxury bedside lamp is chosen in the same family of finish as the chandelier, gold or silver, so the two pieces answer each other. Keep a lower, more diffuse light at bed height, and reserve the chandelier for general lighting.
What is a luxury designer decor piece?
It is not necessarily a small object: a crystal chandelier, a cascade of drops or a pendant with opal globes structure the room as much as they light it. What matters is the stated material, the shape and the consistency with the decor.
