Choose the shape before the shade: in this selection, green glass comes in sphere, round, tube and dome shapes, on steel, aluminium or metal frames, with an E27 socket on most models and an IP20 rating throughout. Then measure the free height above the table or worktop, because it is the cable adjustment that decides the final look.
What light does a green glass pendant light give?
Tinted glass colours and softens the beam: a green glass pendant light diffuses a softer light than clear glass. The models in the collection are IP20, often LED, and some show a warm white colour temperature of 2700 to 3500 K, suited to a living room.
Green glass pendant light and warm white: the effect in a living room
In warm white, around 2700 to 3500 K, the green takes on a more botanical tone and the light stays restful in the evening. Verdana and Aetheris offer this clearly. Conversely, a cool white around 4500 to 6500 K cools the glass and hardens the reflections: keep it for a hallway or corridor, where you do not sit.
Frosted, clear or ribbed glass: what the finish changes
Frosted glass hides the bulb and smooths the light, clear glass reveals the source and gives a crisper line, ribbed glass throws reflections onto the walls. Frosted works better above a table, where glare should be avoided. Clear glass shows off the bulb: choose a filament model in that case. Conaris adds a marble base under its green glass, setting a mineral mass in the light.
Green glass pendant light: sphere, globe, tube or dome, which shape to choose?
The sphere, 20 to 40 cm in diameter, lights widely and stays discreet, the globe brings a more graphic volume, the tube suits narrow spaces and the dome concentrates light downwards. The choice depends on the available height and the surface to be lit.
| Shape | Measured dimensions | Suited rooms | Examples |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sphere | Ø 20 to 40 cm, cable up to 110 to 130 cm | Living room, bedroom, hallway, corridor | Globea, Boulina, Rondara |
| Globe on frame | Ø 30 cm, frame 157 cm | Living room, dining room | Drakonia |
| Tube | Ø 20 to 21 cm, max height 160 cm | Studio, living room, corridor | Fjordis, Véra |
| Dome | Ø 28 cm, cable up to 120 cm | Living room, bedroom, hallway, office | Hadrien |
| Multiple pendants | Ø 15 to 25 cm, cable up to 125 cm | Dining room, kitchen, hallway | Mirandor, Valnoraro, Alanoreta |
| Stacked globes | Ø 14 cm, frame 149.5 cm | Living room, dining room, bedroom | Cascade |
Sphere glass pendants on a thin cable: which diameter to choose?
A diameter of 20 cm is enough over a small side table or in a corridor, 30 cm covers a small table, 40 cm is called for above a large table. The Globea, Boulina and Rondara form a consistent series with a thin cable, the same E27 socket and glass in several shades.
Globe, tube or dome: when to prefer them?
The globe on a frame is looked at as much as it lights: place it in a tall volume. The tube takes up little width and suits corridors and studios. The dome sends light downwards, useful above a worktop or a desk. Multiple pendants line up several light points above a table.
Which green glass pendant light for the living room, kitchen or bedroom?
In this selection, the living room, bedroom and dining room come up most often, followed by the kitchen and the hallway. A sphere on a thin cable suits a living room, a multi-pendant model goes above a worktop or a table.
Glass pendants for the kitchen: which model above the worktop?
Above a worktop, the pendant must light the preparation area without blocking the view. Two or three small diameters lined up work better than one large volume. Valnoraro and Alanoreta, with their three round G9 diffusers, frame a worktop well. More options can be found in the glass pendants for the kitchen.
Green pendant for a bedroom or hallway: the discreet format
In a bedroom, a diffusing glass placed near the bed or in the centre gives a low, enveloping light. Auren, in G9, stays compact. In a hallway or corridor, where the ceiling is often low, prefer a tube or a small sphere. For other light options, look at the models for the bedroom.
Which socket and bulb for a green glass pendant light?
The E27 socket covers most models, often at 15 W and up to 40 W on a few pieces. The G9 socket comes with 8 W LED models, and there is also E14, GX53 at 12 W LED and GU10 at 5 W maximum.
| Socket | Measured wattage | Light type | Models |
|---|---|---|---|
| E27 | 15 W to 40 W | LED or screw bulb, warm white possible | Verdana, Hadrien, Kaito, Rondara, Boulina, Globea, Aetheris |
| G9 | 8 W, 4.5 W on one model | LED | Mirandor, Valnoraro, Alanoreta, Auren |
| E14 | 15 W maximum | LED | Conaris |
| GX53 | 12 W LED maximum | LED | Drakonia |
| GU10 | 5 W maximum | LED | Cascade |
E27 or G9: which socket to choose for a glass pendant?
E27 takes a screw bulb that is easy to replace, including a filament model that shows off clear glass. G9, smaller, equips compact LED models: the whole thing stays flat and discreet. To change the mood without changing the fixture, E27 is more flexible.
LED or filament bulb: what changes in tinted glass
In tinted glass, an opaque LED is not visible and lets the green do its work. A filament bulb, visible through clear glass, adds a warm point in the centre. Check the maximum wattage of the socket before ordering. Hadrien and Kaito accept a dimmer, with a compatible bulb.
Coloured glass pendants: how to pair green in the room?
Green pairs easily with black, white or gold, all very present in the collection. On a light wall, a green pendant becomes the colour accent; in an already busy interior, better to stay with clear or lightly smoked glass.
Green and black: the most understated combination
A black mount under green glass gives a crisp contrast that works in a contemporary or industrial interior. The square frame of Kaito is a direct example. Black and green sit well with light wood. For other dark variants, see the black glass versions. The black metal pendants play the same card on the frame.
Green and gold: warming up a light room
Gold or brass warms a green glass and works on a white or beige wall. Fjordis combines metal, brass and glass, while Aetheris plays a rawer frame. This is the pairing to choose when the room lacks warmth. Browse the gold glass to compare. The gold metal mounts give an idea of the frames available. To widen the search, take a look at the smoked glass models. The amber shades stay warmer, and the blue colourway or the orange pendants open other directions. The grey colourway remains the most neutral of all.
Where to install a green glass pendant light and how to care for it?
All the models in the collection are IP20: they are meant for dry rooms, not for a bathroom or outdoors. The cable is adjustable on most pieces, and a soft cloth is enough for both the glass and the frame.
IP20: what it means on the ceiling
The IP20 rating indicates equipment protected against solid objects larger than 12.5 mm, but not against water. A bathroom, a terrace or a very damp room requires a higher rating, which these pendants do not carry. Keep them for the living room, bedroom, dining room, kitchen or hallway. To install, cut the power and check that the support holds the load.
Cleaning a glass diffuser without scratching it
Dust the glass with a dry microfibre cloth, then use an alcohol-free glass cleaner if needed. Avoid abrasive sponges and powders, which mark the surface. For steel, aluminium or metal, a slightly damp cloth is enough, followed by an immediate wipe to avoid marks. Cut the power before any handling.
Glass pendant or metal pendant: how to choose?
Glass lets light through and colours the mood, metal concentrates it and structures the silhouette. In the collection, glass models dominate, often combined with steel, aluminium or metal: it is the mix of the two that gives the style. A glass globe on a steel frame, like Drakonia, lights by transparency and draws a crisp line. A metal pendant, by contrast, sends light downwards and is noticed first for its shape. Glass is chosen for the light it diffuses, metal for the line it imposes. To see both families side by side, start from all design glass pendants, then widen to our lighting catalogue.
Green glass pendant light: what budget and warranty to expect?
The collection spans accessible models as well as more elaborate pieces, to compare by shape and socket. On the warranty side, most pendants are covered for 2 or 5 years, a few for 3 years. The current price is shown on each product page.
Budget is mostly about material and complexity: a small sphere on a thin steel cable sits at the entry level, a globe on a tall frame or glass combined with marble sits higher. So compare like for like in shape and socket. On the service side, you get secure payment, tracked delivery, returns and Designix customer service.

Frequently asked questions about green glass pendant lights
Green glass pendant light: which finish to choose?
Frosted glass softens the light and hides the bulb, clear glass reveals the source and gives a crisper result, ribbed glass diffuses reflections. In the collection, all three exist, often combined with a steel, aluminium or metal frame.
Green glass pendants: can they be installed on a dimmer?
Only some models accept a dimmer, such as Hadrien, Kaito and Véra. A dimmable bulb is then required. Check the mention on the product page before choosing your bulb.
Can a green glass pendant be placed in a bathroom?
No: the pendants in this collection are IP20, a rating that corresponds to dry, sheltered rooms. A bathroom or a terrace requires a higher protection rating, which these models do not carry. Keep them for the living room, bedroom, kitchen or hallway.
Which glass pendants work with an E27 bulb?
The E27 socket equips most models, with measured wattages from 15 W to 40 W, for example on Verdana, Hadrien, Kaito, Rondara, Boulina, Globea and Aetheris. You can therefore screw in a standard E27 bulb.
Does a green glass pendant use a lot of electricity?
The measured wattages stay low: 8 W for G9 LED models, 12 W in GX53, 5 W in GU10, and 15 W for most E27 sockets. The most demanding models show 40 W, in E27.
