Start by measuring your ceiling height and the room to be lit: these two markers decide the format before the material. A star ceiling light is a pendant light whose structure draws a star, often combined with a ball, a spiral, a globe or a cloud, lit by integrated LED or by an E27 bulb depending on the model.
What is a star ceiling light and what light does it give?

How to choose the light temperature of a star ceiling light?
The light temperature is chosen according to use: warm white 2700-3500 K suits living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms, neutral white 3500-4500 K suits workspaces, cool white 4500-6500 K suits kitchens and technical areas. Some models offer several temperatures on the same light.

XXL pendant light for high ceilings: what diameter and height to plan?
For a high ceiling, an XXL pendant light of large diameter or large length avoids the lost effect. The models of this selection go from 20 cm in diameter to 40, 60, 80, 100 or 120 cm formats, with adjustable cable heights up to 350 or 360 cm depending on the model.

Child's star ceiling light: which base and what precautions?
For a child's room, models with an E27 base like Iskander, Ceridwen or Star Blanche let you choose the bulb, while models with integrated LED avoid any replacement. All the pendant lights in this collection are IP20: they are reserved for dry rooms, to be fixed out of children's reach.
E27 or LED for a child's room?
The E27 base lets you modulate intensity by simply changing the bulb, handy as the child grows. The integrated LED imposes its power, here 4, 6 or 15 W depending on the piece. How to secure the installation?
Fix the support into the ceiling, never into a light hook, and cut the power before working. Keep the cable and the light away from play areas. A connection on a hallway pendant light or bedroom one will require the same check of the support.
IP44 bathroom pendant light: does this collection suit?
No: the pendant lights in this collection are all IP20, so protected only against solid objects and not against water splashes. A damp bathroom requires an IP44 model minimum. These star ceiling lights therefore go in the living room, bedroom, kitchen or dining room, away from wet areas.
IP20 and IP44: what difference?
The first digit indicates protection against solids, the second against water. IP20 covers fingers and ordinary dust; IP44 adds resistance to splashes. No piece in this selection reaches that rating, whatever the style chosen.
Where to install an IP20 pendant light?
In all dry rooms: living room, bedroom, office, kitchen away from splash areas, hallway and entrance. A metal pendant light or a piece in designer pendant light will find its place there without risk, at a distance from a water point.
How to install and maintain a star ceiling light?
Installation starts by cutting the power, fixing the support to the ceiling and setting the cable height according to the room. Glass and crystal are cleaned with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive product; metal and acrylic are dusted dry. Models with a dimmer require a compatible switch.
How to adjust the height of a pendant light?
Most models have an adjustable cable: loosen the fixing, slide the cable, tighten again. Always adjust with the light off and the power cut. Rhaegar and Éclat d'Étoile accept a dimmer, which requires a suitable switch.
How to clean glass, metal and crystal?
Glass and crystal are polished with a soft cloth, without abrasive product that scratches the surface. Metal and iron are content with a dry dusting. Acrylic, present on some pieces, is washed with soapy water then wiped with a microfibre to avoid marks.
