First choose the light you want to receive, then the shade of green. A velvet shade filters and warms the glow, an opal globe diffuses it widely, a metal structure lets it travel upwards. The models in this selection run on E27, G9 or integrated LED, with warm, neutral or cool white depending on the reference.

What light does a green floor lamp give?
The light depends on the shade before it depends on the base. A closed velvet shade filters and warms the glow, an opal globe diffuses it in every direction, an open metal structure lets it travel upwards and towards the wall. This first choice sets the mood, well before the shade of green.
The shade changes everything
The Vertessa arc floor lamp has a cylindrical velvet shade 48 cm deep: the fabric absorbs part of the glow and softens the shadows, giving a halo rather than a beam. The Velmilessa globe, in clay and opal glass 120 mm in diameter, lights more widely and without harsh spots: perfect as accent light on a piece of furniture.
Warm white or cool white for a green living room?
Around 2700 to 3500 K you get a warm white suited to the living room and bedroom. Between 3500 and 4500 K, neutral white stays right for a desk. Above 4500 K, cool white suits outdoors and circulation areas. The Ondar outdoor model offers all three ranges. Note that the green of the shade slightly tints the light reflected upwards.
Where to place a green floor lamp in the home?
Green goes where you want a presence without disruption: the corner of a living room, the bedside of a bedroom, the corner of a study. Part of the selection is rated IP44 and can move to a terrace or a sheltered outdoor area, the others stay IP20, so indoors only.
In the living room, a corner green rather than a passage green
A floor lamp 210 cm tall does not move around: it occupies a corner, behind a sofa or next to a reading armchair, and keeps the walkway clear. The green models designed for the living room can be found in our selection of green floor lamps for the living room. In a bedroom, a low format at bedside height is preferable, to avoid a light point in line with the bed.
Terrace: what IP44 changes
The IP44 rating indicates protection against water splashes, not resistance to driving rain: these table lamps go on a terrace table or under an awning. See the design outdoor lights if you are looking for a model of this type. IP20 models stay indoors, including on an open balcony.
How to choose between velvet, clay and metal?
Velvet dresses a shade and softens the light. Clay gives compact, matt shapes, often paired with an opal globe. Metal and aluminium hold straight lines and cope better outdoors. The choice is made on the light you want and on use, not on colour alone.
Velvet, the softest light
Two models in the selection play this card, including the Jila floor lamp and its double stem. The shade, 50 cm in diameter, diffuses downwards and to the sides; the black stem contrasts with the green. Best kept for dry rooms and away from rubbing.
Clay and metal, when shape takes over
Clay is worked into round, firm volumes: the Tesmilessa floor lamp is the example, with its flat 285 mm shade. Metal and aluminium take over for wire structures or outdoor use. To compare more widely, browse the design metal floor lamps and the globe and glass diffuser models.
| Finish | Light given | Rooms suited | Care |
|---|---|---|---|
| Velvet shade | Filters and warms the glow | Living room, bedroom, study | Soft brush, no water |
| Clay and opal globe | Diffuses widely, without harsh spots | Living room, study, bedside | Dry cloth |
| Metal and aluminium | Direct glow, clean lines | Living room, terrace, sheltered outdoor | Microfibre cloth |
Which socket and bulb for a green floor lamp?
The selection includes E27 sockets for a screw bulb, G9 sockets for small opal globes, and models with integrated 2 or 9 W LED. A LED bulb with the right socket replaces a design halogen without changing the fixture or the base.
Can a design halogen be replaced by a LED bulb?
Yes, provided you stay within the wattage stated by the fixture. The Vertessa arc is rated for 40 W in E27: a LED below that ceiling is suitable, and you keep the base, the shade and the warm rendering. The design halogen can therefore be replaced without buying a new fixture. Just check the bulb diameter so it does not touch the fabric.
E27 or G9: what it changes day to day
E27 is found everywhere and changed by hand. G9, with pins, equips compact globes such as Tesmilessa and Velmilessa: smaller bulbs, a narrower choice in shops. The Ondar and Zambelis outdoor models carry a non-replaceable 2 W LED, with dimmer. To dig deeper, compare the design LED floor lamps.
Which format for which room: arc, floor-standing or placed model?
Three formats coexist: the arc, 210 cm tall and 48 cm deep, for a large living room; the floor-standing lamp with a 50 cm diameter shade; and placed models from 110 to 265 mm tall that go on a piece of furniture or a terrace table.
The boldly large arc
An arc takes up half a square metre of floor but reaches over the sofa: it is the format for rooms over twenty square metres, where it serves as accent light above a coffee table. Below 210 cm, check that it does not hit a beam or a hanging fixture. Shapes of this type can be found in the black versions of the same silhouettes, useful for comparing volumes.
Small formats, on furniture or a table
From 110 to 188 mm tall, placed globes slip onto a console, a shelf or a bedside table without cluttering. At 260 mm, outdoor table lamps go on a terrace table and move with the meals. For light rooms, see the white models for light rooms. The collection has 10 products in total, the models mentioned here are only part of it.
| Model | Format | Dimensions | Socket | Protection | Room |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vertessa | Arc floor lamp | H 210 cm, D 48 cm | E27 | IP20 | Living room, bedroom, study |

How to match a green floor lamp with the rest of the living room?
Green matches the black of the structures, very present on these models, as well as the white or gold of a light room. In a contemporary interior, one green is enough as an anchor point; two green lights close together call for a different shade or material.
Green and black, the duo of contemporary interiors
The black structure holds the green without competing with it: this is the case with Vertessa and Jila, where the dark stem almost disappears. You can extend the match with other pieces in the home by browsing the black metal structures, or the white and black duos if the room is light.
When green calls for white or gold
On a white or beige wall, a matt olive green stays discreet by day and gains presence when lit. Gold is used in small touches, on a frame or a tray, to warm the scene. Compare the gold finishes and the gold and black pairings before mixing. The whole catalogue can be browsed from all the lights in the home.
How to install and care for a green floor lamp?
Assembly is limited to the base, the cable and the shade. For care, a dry cloth is enough on metal and clay, a soft brush on velvet; avoid liquid products on an IP44 fixture and dust the opal globe dry.
Assembling the base and fitting the shade straight
Assemble the base on a flat surface, screw the stems by hand before tightening, then fit the shade and check that it does not touch the bulb. Run the cable along the wall rather than across the room, and plug in before screwing in the bulb. An inline switch or dimmer saves you from bending down every time you switch on.
Cleaning velvet, clay and metal without damaging them
On velvet, a soft brush in the direction of the nap, never water which would mark the fabric. On clay and opal glass, a dry cloth; on aluminium, a microfibre. For an IP44-rated fixture, do not hose it down: the rating protects against splashes, not against jet cleaning. Always unplug before working on the socket. Other materials are detailed in the wooden bases.
High-end design green floor lamps: what makes the difference?
What sets a high-end model apart here: an integrated LED rather than a socket to change, a dimmer to adjust intensity, an aluminium structure and a two or three year warranty depending on the reference. The level is decided on these points, not on colour.
Dimmer and integrated LED, everyday comfort
The two outdoor table lamps, Ondar and Zambelis, combine a 2 W LED and a dimmer: you lower the intensity on a terrace table in the evening without losing the ambient light. Conversely, an E27 or G9 socket leaves the choice of bulb and can be replaced over time.
Two or three year warranty: what it really covers
The warranty covers the fixture and its components, not the bulb you screw in yourself. Two years or three years depending on the reference: it is an argument for peace of mind, not for performance. To place the uses, compare the LED dedicated to the living room and the black outdoor models.
On the socket side, Vertessa and Jila are E27, Tesmilessa and Velmilessa are G9; the outdoor models move to IP44 with dimmer. The current price of each model is shown directly in the collection grid, just below.
Frequently asked questions about green floor lamps
High-end design green floor lamps, what really changes?
The difference lies in the light source and the finish: integrated LED instead of a socket, dimmer to adjust intensity, aluminium structure, two or three year warranty depending on the reference. The green colour is common to the whole selection, so it does not help rank the models against each other.
Vintage design green floor lamps, how to match them?
The large arc, 210 cm tall and 48 cm deep, makes a strong statement: place it alone in a corner, near a sofa, against a light wall. Around it, keep materials understated and avoid a second green light of the same shade in the same area.
Can a design green floor lamp be installed on a terrace?
Yes for IP44-rated models: they resist water splashes and go on a terrace table or in a sheltered outdoor area. The IP20 models in the selection stay indoors. The protection rating does not replace shelter from driving rain.
Which bulb to use in a green floor lamp with an E27 socket?
A screw E27 bulb, LED preferably, within the wattage stated by the model. The arc in the selection is rated for 40 W: stay below that ceiling. A LED with the same socket replaces a design halogen without changing the base or the shade.
Which green to choose for a living room?
A matt olive green blends into a light living room and stays discreet by day; a deep green makes more of a statement and calls for a room that is bright enough. The colour of the shade matters as much as that of the base, because it is the shade that colours the light reflected upwards.
