Start by counting the room and the shape: a spiral or a cascade for a living room, a workshop or a staircase, a tighter ring, ball or tube format above a table, an island or a worktop. All the pendants in this selection are IP20 and are therefore installed in dry rooms, never in a wet area.
The models gathered here combine crystal drops with metal, brass or copper frames, in gold, silver or black finishes. To see the full family, browse all our pendants before going into the details of a single piece.
Which crystal pendant light should you choose for each room?
Crystal works first of all in dry rooms. A spiral or a cascade dresses a living room or a workshop, where it becomes the main light source. Above a table or an island, a compact format is preferred, in a ring, ball or tube shape, which lights without blocking the view.
Designer pendant light for the bedroom
In a bedroom, the pendant lights without taking up volume. A crystal on a light frame, in a tight format, spreads a soft light on the walls. Bedroom pendants are chosen around warm white 2700 to 3500 K, and dimmable models can be turned down in the evening.
Living room and dining room pendant light
In the living room, the piece becomes the central object: a tiered cascade or a spiral hangs high and throws reflections onto the ceiling. Living room pendants accept a wider diameter. Above a table, dining room models are tightened to keep the view towards the guests.
| Room | What the pendant brings | Suitable shapes and materials | To check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Workshop | Main light source and sense of volume | Crystal spiral or cascade, gold or silver frame | Available height and ceiling fixing |
| Living room | Ambient light and central object | Spiral, cascade, ball, glass and metal | Space taken above a low piece of furniture |
| Dining room | Light brought down above the table | Ring, ball, tube, tight spiral | Cable height and bulb fitting |
| Bedroom | Soft lighting and discreet presence | Compact format in glass and crystal, light finish | Warm white 2700 to 3500 K, dimmer if planned |
| Kitchen | Lighting of the worktop and the island | Tube or cylinder, opal glass, metal | IP20: stay out of wet areas |
| Hallway | Light accent on a small volume | Tight format in crystal and metal | Space taken and clear passage |
Modern pendant or antique crystal: which style should you choose?
Crystal works in both registers. A black or gold frame and simple lines give a modern pendant, while cascade drops on a fine structure evoke an antique chandelier. The choice depends on the furniture already in place, not on the crystal itself.
Modern crystal pendant light
Graphic frame, visible cable, cut crystal with regular facets: the result stays sharp and the shadows draw lines on the wall. Modern style models match understated interiors, and some accept a dimmer to adjust the mood in the evening.
Antique crystal pendant light
The antique spirit comes from accumulation: many drops, a fine structure, gilding. The designer pendants in the collection take up this principle in a spiral or cascade, with a metal frame supporting a more generous volume of crystal.
Kitchen pendant light: how do you light an island or a worktop?
Above an island, a crystal pendant light lights the worktop and structures the room. A tight format is preferred, one or two light points, a height adjustable by the cable and an E14 or E27 fitting depending on the model, to keep the view clear towards the kitchen.
Kitchen island pendant light
A short island is happy with one centred point; a long worktop needs several points aligned at the same height. Kitchen pendants in opal glass spread an even light, without dazzling the person cooking. Sylmara and its opal glass combines two E14 cylinders, Ø 8 cm, adjustable from 44.5 to 232 cm.
Original kitchen pendant and Italian design
Italian design is recognisable by its brass or copper frames, as on Éclat de Diamant or Novastra.
A tube shape in clear glass, a brass socket, a crystal that throws back the light of the worktop: the result stays light above an island. Modern kitchen pendants play this card, provided they stay in a dry area and away from splashes.
Original pendant light: which shapes stand out?
The most unusual shapes in the collection are the spiral, the tiered cascade, the tube and the ball. They are chosen for the effect they create in a volume: the spiral fills the height, the ball concentrates the light, the tube draws a clean line above a table.
Crystal pendant light in a spiral or cascade
The spiral turns around its axis and comes down in several tiers. The Serenora spiral is an example in gold and silver, like Honorata. The rectangular drops of Belnoressa come down in a gold cascade, more graphic.
Original pendant: ball, ring, tube
The ball concentrates the light in one point and suits a small volume: Éclat de Diamant, 24 × 20 cm, at 6 W. The tube in clear glass, like the Novastra tube in clear glass, lines up above a long worktop. To see these shapes in place, browse the crystal pendant lights.
XXL pendant light for a high ceiling: how do you handle the height?
Under a high ceiling, a crystal pendant light is adjusted by the cable and the mounting height. In this selection, according to the product sheets, Lyra states a 150 cm cable and Sylmara an adjustable height from 44.5 to 232 cm: the piece is brought down to get it closer to the area to be lit.
XXL pendant light for a high ceiling: what cable range?
First look at the stated range: a short cable requires a low fixing, a long cable leaves room. Lyra, metal cage and prisms, comes in Ø 250 mm and Ø 320 mm, with a 50 or 70 cm bar. For other ranges, compare in the pendant catalogue.
Crystal pendant light above a dining table
Above a table, the pendant lights the plates without dazzling the eyes. The piece is brought down until it visually fills the table, without blocking the way. Pendants above the table in a tight spiral or a ring do this job.
IP44 bathroom pendant light: what does the protection rating say?
All the pendants in this collection are IP20: they are protected against contacts and solid bodies, not against moisture. A wet room requires an IP44 rating or higher, reserved for wet zones. These models are therefore installed in dry rooms, never above a bath or a shower.
What does an IP20 rating mean?
The first digit covers solid bodies, the second liquids. In IP20, the second digit indicates the absence of protection against water: no splashes, no dense steam. No pendant in the selection goes lower in this rating, so there is no IP44 version to look for here.
Where can you place a crystal pendant light with no risk of moisture?
Bedroom, living room, dining room, hallway, workshop: these dry rooms take crystal without any special precaution. A hallway pendant in a small format punctuates the passage. The same reasoning applies to a modern living room pendant, placed far from any water source.
Gold, silver or black crystal pendant light: which finish should you choose?
The finish changes the light as much as the style. Gold warms light rooms and woodwork, silver gives a colder, more graphic light on a grey or white wall, black frames the crystals and brings them out. A two-tone model combines both effects.
Gold crystal pendant light
Gold matches light woods, stone and light textiles, and the warm light of the bulbs benefits from it. Gold finishes dominate the collection, often combined with drops mounted in a spiral. Lyra comes in black and gold, with a dimmer.
Black crystal pendant light
A black frame brings out the facets by contrast and gives a more industrial result. Black frames go with metal, opal glass and concrete. Sylmara, in black, combines two opal glass cylinders.
How do you install and care for a crystal pendant light?
The pendant is fixed to the ceiling by its bar or its cable, the height is adjusted before locking, then the fitting is connected: E14 or E27 depending on the model, or an integrated LED module. Cleaning is done dry, with a soft cloth, without abrasive product on the drops and the frames.
E14, E27 or integrated LED fitting: which should you choose?
The fitting decides which source you will be able to replace. E14 for small volumes, E27 for larger ones, GU10 or LED module on some models. The available temperatures range from warm white 2700 to 3500 K to cool white 4500 to 6500 K, through neutral white. LED versions do without a bulb.
| Model | Main materials | Fitting or source | Protection rating | Dimensions | Dimmer |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sylmara | Metal and opal glass | E14 | IP20 | Ø 8 cm, H 44.5 to 232 cm | Not specified |
| Lyra | Metal, crystal, iron, glass | E27 | IP20 | Ø 250 or 320 mm, H 230 mm, 150 cm cable, 50 or 70 cm bar | Yes |

How do you clean crystal drops?
A soft, dry cloth is enough to dust the drops, and the frames are wiped without abrasive product. In a kitchen, grease settles: a regular wipe prevents a film on the glass. The electrical connection is entrusted to an electrician, and our selection of light fittings is repaired bulb by bulb when the fitting is standard.
What budget should you plan for a crystal pendant light?
The price depends on the size, the number of drops and the frame. The collection ranges from affordable models to exceptional pieces, and crystal is often chosen for a single highlight in the home. The warranty runs from two to five years depending on the models.
Cheap crystal pendant light: spotting the affordable models
Affordable models are often simple spirals or tubes, without a complex adjustment mechanism. Low priced pendants stay IP20 like the rest of the collection. A tight budget focuses on a single light point rather than a large volume of crystal.
What warranty on a crystal pendant light?
The warranty covers the product, not bulb wear. To compare, look at Serenora, Novastra and Belnoressa, three different assemblies.

Frequently asked questions about the crystal pendant light
Can a crystal pendant light be installed in an IP44 bathroom?
No, not in wet zones: the pendants in this collection are IP20, protected against contacts and solid bodies, without protection against water. A bathroom requires an IP44 rating or higher in areas exposed to splashes. These models therefore stay in dry rooms: living room, bedroom, dining room, kitchen and hallway.
How do you recognise crystal on a chandelier?
Look at the transparency, the sharpness of the edges and the sound: cut crystal throws back light in sharp facets, without a milky film, and the piece rings slightly when tapped gently. Glass gives softer reflections. In this selection, the drops are mounted on metal frames.
How do you install a crystal pendant light above a kitchen island?
The pendant is fixed to the ceiling, the cable height is adjusted before tightening, then the intended fitting is connected, E14 or E27. A tight format avoids hiding the piece. The IP20 rating means staying in a dry area, away from the sink and the hob.
How do you choose an XXL pendant light for a high ceiling?
First choose the cable range, then the shape. In this selection, Lyra states a 150 cm cable with a 50 or 70 cm bar, and Sylmara an adjustable height from 44.5 to 232 cm. A spiral or a cascade fills the height without leaving a gap under a high ceiling.
Rock crystal or cut crystal pendant light, what is the difference?
Rock crystal is a natural mineral, with inclusions and irregular shapes. The cut crystal used on these pendants is worked to give regular facets: the reflection effect is more even and care is simpler. Both are chosen for the light they throw back.
