Allow one light point every 40 to 50 cm of tabletop, then adjust the cable heights before tightening them. A cluster pendant light brings several light sources together on a single canopy, a rail or a set of cables, in glass, metal or bamboo, to light a table, an island or a seating area without multiplying ceiling points.
What is a cluster pendant light and what light does it give?
A cluster pendant light brings several light points together on a single canopy, a rail or a set of cables. It lights a table or a seating area generously, with a diffuse and evenly spread light. In this selection, glass dominates, often combined with metal, in warm white, and the whole fixture remains height adjustable.
Glass cluster pendant light: globes, drops and discs
Glass is the most common material in the collection. It takes the shape of globes, stretched drops or stacked discs, which changes everything in the result. The Stilla smoked glass cascade pendant light lines up its drops in a cascade on an adjustable cable: the light runs down the wire instead of being crushed against the ceiling. The Ovielle six oval diffuser pendant light plays on transparent glass and an E14 socket, with a crisper result. To widen the search, the glass pendant light gathers the translucent models, and the pendant light range covers the other materials.
Opal glass or smoked glass: which result?
Opal glass diffuses an enveloping light, without harsh reflection on the table: it is the safe choice above a tablecloth. Smoked or amber glass tints the light and lets the bulbs show, which gives more character in a dark room. Transparent glass calls for a decorative bulb, because it stays visible. The three finishes coexist in the collection, alongside the black pendant lights and the globe pendant lights.
Which cluster pendant light for a dining room?
Above a table, the cluster is centred on the tabletop and the canopy aligns with the middle of the table, not with the room. The models in the selection hang adjustably, from 40 to 200 cm for some, up to 390 cm for others, which leaves the necessary margin under a high ceiling. As a rule, allow 70 to 80 cm between the bottom of the fixture and the tabletop.
At what height should a cluster pendant light be hung above the table?
The height is set during installation by shortening the cables. The usual marker places the lowest point around 70 to 80 cm above the tabletop, to be adjusted according to the width of the table and the height of the guests. The Kaelia five amber globe cluster adjusts from 40 to 200 cm, with a 14 cm canopy and 14 cm globes, dimensions taken from its product sheet.
How many light points above a large table?
The number of points follows the length of the tabletop: the longer the table, the more the cluster must spread the light to avoid shadow areas between the place settings. The dining room pendant lights gather the suitable formats, from five globes to structures on a bar. There you will find both the Valdanano five conical shade cluster and the Jules six white disc black bar.
Cluster pendant light for the living room, the kitchen and the hallway: how to choose it?
For the living room, a glass or black steel cluster structures the room. In the kitchen, a bamboo or oval model works above an island without cluttering. In the hallway, a compact version lights the passage without taking up space. These three rooms are among the most frequent uses of the selection.
Designer kitchen: which cluster above the island?
Above a worktop, the cable is shortened to keep the clearance and a horizontal format is preferred. The Kalua bamboo five shade pendant light combines a 160 cm black rail with woven shades, with an E27 socket and dimmer. A black steel structure such as Aeris, given for 140 cm wide and a maximum height of 150 cm, plays the same role. See the models for the kitchen and the pieces with strong design. On the question of Italian design, we claim no origin: the product sheets give the real materials and finishes of each model.
Designer bedroom pendant light: which model above the bed?
In a bedroom, you look for a soft light and a format that does not hang too low. The five amber globes of Kaelia work well, as does the Lucerae gold faceted glass globe, more compact. The bedroom pendant lights gather these round formats, and the living room pendant lights the larger volumes for a reading corner.
XXL cluster pendant light for a high ceiling: which length and which support?
A high ceiling requires more cable and a support that spreads the light over the height. The selection offers adjustable heights up to 150 cm, from 40 to 200 cm, or up to 390 cm depending on the model, on a rail or on a canopy. This creates a tree effect with staggered points.
Tree pendant light: composing a vertical cluster
Over a great height, a cascade works better than a short pendant: the points are staggered and fill the volume instead of leaving the top empty. The Stilla pendant light is announced with a 40 cm disc and an adjustable height up to 390 cm, for a 6 W or 30 W LED module. This is the format to look at when the stairwell or the mezzanine swallows the light.
Rail or cables: which support for a large volume?
The rail aligns the points on a clean line and suits rectangular spaces, above a bar or a long counter. Separate cables allow a free distribution, better suited to a square volume. Wire structures exist in several widths: 70, 110 and 140 cm for Berthe, Isabelle and Aeris, all on the same principle, to be chosen according to the real ceiling footprint.
How to choose an original pendant light?
Originality comes from the shape and the finish: globe, oval, cage, twisted cluster, faceted or amber glass. The selection often combines glass and metal, with black, gold, amber or transparent finishes. The right marker remains the scale of the room, not the spectacular effect alone.
Grape cluster pendant light: the bold shape
The grape cluster embraces numerous, closely packed points, like a cone of glass. The Sphère Céleste glass sphere in its brass ring gives a jewellery version, at 15 x 25 cm on its sheet, with an E27 socket and light available in warm, neutral or cool white. Glass stacks such as Zendaneta and Torvina play the same vertical card.
Brass, gold, amber or black: which finish for which interior?
Brass and gold warm up a light interior or a wood decor, amber softens the light, black stands out on a painted wall. A deep black suits kitchens and glass partitions, a gold finish suits revisited classic interiors. The modern pendant lights and the gold pendant light show the two directions. The gold travertine decor of Saxor remains a rarer piece.
Brass and glass, bamboo or metal cluster pendant light: which material to choose?
Glass gives a soft, evenly spread light, metal and steel provide the structure, brass a warm note, bamboo a natural result, acrylic rarer effects. The choice is made first according to the expected light, then according to the finish that matches the furniture.
| Room | Suitable shapes | Height recorded on the models | To keep in mind |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dining room | Round, globe, oval | 40 to 200 cm, up to 150 cm or 390 cm depending on the model | Centre on the tabletop |
| Living room | Globe, cage, oval, original shape | Adjustment during installation, up to 150 cm | Light without overwhelming the sofa |
| Kitchen | Oval, round, woven shades | Cable shortened above the counter | Keep the worktop clearance |
| Bedroom | Globe, oval, round | 40 to 200 cm depending on the model | Soft light, warm white |
| Hallway or corridor | Round, globe, small format | Adjustment during installation | Compact format for a passage |
Brass and glass cluster pendant light: the jewellery spirit
Brass combined with glass gives a thin fixture, almost an accessory. Sphère Céleste is the example: a glass globe set in a gold ring, on a height of 25 cm. This format suits a hallway or a bedroom, where a delicate piece is wanted rather than a volume. See also the exposed metal structures and the metal structures for a more graphic result.
Bamboo cluster pendant light: the natural spirit
Woven bamboo filters the light and makes it warm, without glare. Kalua offers five shades on a black rail, with an E27 socket, suited to a dining room or an open kitchen. It is the warmest material in the selection, to be favoured in an interior where wood dominates. For a more understated result, the white pendant light or the steel models remain more neutral.
E27, E14, G9 or LED socket: which bulbs and which dimmer?
The selection mixes models with integrated LED and pendant lights with E27, E14 or G9 bulbs. The light temperature goes from warm white to cool white depending on the model, and only part of the pendant lights accept a dimmer. Check the socket indicated on the sheet before buying your bulbs.
| Socket | Bulb | Available temperature | Example models |
|---|---|---|---|
| Integrated LED | No bulb to provide | Warm white 2700-3500 K | Stilla, Bremmer, Lucerae |
| E27 | Standard screw bulb | Warm, neutral or cool white depending on the bulb | Sphère Céleste, Kalua, Aeris, Berthe |
| E14 | Small screw bulb | Depending on the chosen bulb | Ovielle, Kaelia |
| G9 | Compact pin bulb | Depending on the chosen bulb | Jules |
Can a dimmer be installed on a cluster pendant light?
A limited share of the models in the collection accept a dimmer, for example the Kalua bamboo cluster or the Valdanano conical cluster. On a pendant light with integrated LED, dimming depends on the module provided, not on an interchangeable bulb: it cannot be added afterwards. On a model with an E27 or E14 socket, it is the chosen bulb that determines whether dimming works. The LED pendant lights gather the models with an integrated module.
Warm, neutral or cool white: which temperature for the room?
Warm white, around 2700 to 3500 K, suits the living room, the bedroom and the dining room: it makes skin tones and wood softer. Neutral white, around 3500 to 4500 K, remains readable in a kitchen or an office. Cool white, above 4500 K, lights without warmth and is reserved for workspaces. The majority of the models in the collection are in warm white.
How to install and maintain a cluster pendant light?
All the cluster pendant lights in this selection are rated IP20, intended for dry rooms. Installation is done with the power off, on a canopy fixed to the ceiling, with the height adjusted before tightening. Glass is cleaned with a soft cloth, without abrasive product.
Can a cluster pendant light be installed in a bathroom?
With an IP20 rating, no: this rating corresponds to dry rooms, without water splashes or lasting humidity. A bathroom requires a higher protection rating, IP44 or above, which these models do not display. Keep them for the dining room, the living room, the kitchen, the bedroom, the hallway and the corridor. The hallway and corridor pendant lights cover small volumes.
How to clean glass globes and structures?
Cut the power before any handling. A slightly damp microfibre cloth is enough on glass and steel; dry immediately to avoid marks. Avoid abrasive products and alcohol on gold or lacquered finishes. Dust woven shades with a soft brush rather than a wet cloth. Assembly is done with the cables adjusted one by one, then definitively tightened.
One last point before validating: first choose the width of the cluster according to your support, then the height, then the finish. The Berthe oval wire structure suits small tables, the Isabelle radial wire structure suits intermediate volumes. Secure payment, tracked delivery, returns and Designix customer service support you from choice to installation. Frequently asked questions
Can a cluster pendant light be installed in a bathroom?
All the models in this selection are rated IP20, a rating suited to dry rooms. A bathroom requires a higher protection rating, IP44 or above, which these pendant lights do not display. Keep them for the dining room, the living room, the kitchen, the bedroom or the hallway.
How many light points above a large table?
The number of points follows the length of the tabletop: the longer the table, the more points the cluster must have to avoid shadow areas between the guests. The selection goes from a pendant light with five glass globes to a structure with six lights on a black bar, height adjustable.
Is there a cluster pendant light for a high ceiling?
Yes. Several models hang low: adjustment from 40 to 200 cm, up to 150 cm or up to 390 cm of height depending on the reference. On a high ceiling, a vertical cluster whose points are staggered is preferred, rather than a short pendant that would leave the top of the volume empty.
Which bulb to choose for a cluster pendant light?
The selection combines integrated LED and E27, E14 or G9 sockets. The LED models do not need a bulb, the others accept a screw or pin bulb depending on the socket indicated on the sheet. The light temperature goes from warm white to cool white depending on the models.
Where to find an original pendant light?
This collection gathers cluster pendant lights in varied shapes: globe, oval, cage, twisted cluster, faceted, amber or smoked glass. It also includes wire structures in black steel and a bamboo model. Most pieces are height adjustable, which makes it easy to adapt them to the room.
Which cluster pendant light for a designer kitchen?
For a designer kitchen, look at oval or bamboo clusters, easy to hang above a worktop or an island. Black steel structures and smoked glass models go well with contemporary kitchens. The cable is shortened during installation to keep the right clearance.
