Start by looking at the room to be lit, then at the socket. A blue ceiling light mounts on the ceiling, sends light downward or through an opal diffuser, and colours the room mainly when switched off. This selection brings together models in metal, steel, aluminium, glass and acrylic, in tube, round, ball, leaf and ring shapes, with E14, GX53, GU10 and E27 sockets.

Blue ceiling light: which light and which mood in the room?
A blue ceiling light shines downward, or spreads light through an opal diffuser when the product page mentions one. Light temperature matters more than the colour of the shell: in warm white, around 2700 to 3500 K, the room stays soft; in cool white, around 4500 to 6500 K, it becomes crisper. The blue itself is most noticeable when switched off.
Light blue or midnight blue ceiling light: what effect on the ceiling?
A light or sky blue blends into a white ceiling and tints it discreetly: the fixture almost disappears once switched on. A midnight, navy or royal blue stands out clearly and becomes a decorative feature in its own right. Blue finishes are often paired with gold, grey or black, such as the blue ring with gold crystals, which plays on contrast.
Warm white or cool white: how to decide?
Warm white suits rooms where you relax: bedroom, living room, dining room. Cool white lights more sharply and works better over a worktop, a desk or a hallway. Few models state their temperature on the product page: when it is missing, everything depends on the bulb chosen for E14, GX53, GU10 and E27 sockets.
Which blue ceiling light for a living room?
Go by width: round ceiling lights vary from model to model, and six-arm, six-spot or four-globe versions cover the whole room. Exact dimensions should be checked on each product page, as should the LED module wattage, which ranges from 3.5 to 48 W depending on the reference.
Large living room ceiling light: which diameter to choose?
On a round model, the diameter follows the floor area: 23 cm is enough over a corner or in a small living room, while 40 or 50 cm holds the room when the ceiling is high and the furniture wide. To light a living room, compare the actual dimensions on each product page before ordering.
LED living room ceiling light: how many light points?
A six-arm, six-spot or four-globe ceiling light replaces several sources and limits shadowy areas. These models come in GX53 and E14 sockets, with white or opal diffusers. Granit, round with an opal diffuser, is another option: it comes in several diameters and takes a warm or cool white depending on use.
Which blue ceiling light for a bedroom?
Choose a compact format: 10 to 23 cm in diameter, or a tube shape, with a 10 W module when the wattage is stated. Half-moon shade, dome and opal globe models spread a soft light without glare from the bed. Umbria and its blue and grey shades illustrates this approach, as does the Teresina tube ceiling light, available in a blue finish.
Blue kitchen ceiling light: which model and which light?
Look for a tube shape or cylindrical spots on a slim bar: they keep the ceiling clear and frame the worktops. GX53 and GU10 sockets dominate here, with 10 to 12 W modules for crisp lighting. The Teresina tube and spot bars suit this use, in a blue or black finish, as in ceiling lights for the kitchen.

| Dining room | 63% of the selection | Round, domes, globes | Model with several light points |
| Office | 57% of the selection | Round with opal diffuser | LED module of 12 W or more |
| Hallway and entrance | several models | Tube, slim bar | Small ceiling footprint |
Blue bathroom ceiling light: what does the ingress protection rating say?
The ceiling lights in this selection are rated IP20. This rating protects against finger contact and dust, not against water splashes. Before fitting one in a bathroom, compare the model's product page with that of models designed for damp rooms and check the rating before buying.
What does IP20 mean?
The first digit, 2, indicates protection against solid objects larger than 12.5 mm, so fingers. The second, 0, means no protection is provided against water. An IP20 model goes in a dry room; in a damp room, the rating must be higher and is always shown on the product page.
Where to place an IP20 ceiling light?
In a living room, bedroom, office, entrance or hallway, IP20 is suitable. Look at hallways and entrances for small areas, and offices and work corners when you need light over a surface. The bedroom, kitchen and dining room are the rooms most often mentioned on product pages.
Original blue ceiling light: which shapes and materials?
The selection plays on five shapes: tube, round, ball, leaf and ring. Metal carries the structure on almost every model, glass dresses the globes and diffusers, aluminium lightens tube shapes and acrylic serves as an opal diffuser. Blue is paired with gold, grey or black depending on the reference.
Is there a wicker blue ceiling light?
No: wicker is not part of this selection. The available materials are metal, steel, aluminium, glass and acrylic, plus crystal and linen on some references. For a boho feel, dome, opal globe or blue ring with gold crystal models come closest.
Art nouveau blue ceiling light: which alternative?
The art nouveau feel comes from curves and globes: look for a model with curved arms, domes or opal globes, such as Umbria and its half-moon shades, or the six curved-arm models. A deep blue paired with gold produces a similar effect, without pastiche, to be seen in metal structures and glass ceiling lights.
Socket, wattage and warranty: what to check before buying
Three sockets share the selection: E14, GX53 and GU10, completed by a few integrated LED modules that cannot be replaced. Wattages range from 3.5 W to 48 W depending on the model.
E14, GX53, GU10, E27: what is the difference?
E14 is a small screw socket, the most common here. GX53 is a flat bayonet socket, housed in a compact module, frequent on flat ceiling lights. GU10 is a spot with a short bayonet fitting, used on bars and adjustable spots. E27 is the large screw socket. All of them can be replaced.
Integrated LED or replaceable bulb?
A bulb with a socket can be changed when it dims: this is the case for most models, starting with LED models with a GX53 socket. An integrated LED module, however, is fixed, as on Granit. LED technology is stated on almost the entire selection, which limits consumption in both cases.
| Socket | Share of the selection | Bulb type | Replaceable |
|---|---|---|---|
| E14 | 43% | Small screw socket | Yes |
| GX53 | 27% | Flat bayonet socket, compact module | Yes |
| GU10 | 10% | Spot with short bayonet fitting | Yes |
| E27 | 10% | Large screw socket | Yes |
| LED | 3% | Integrated module | No, fixed module |
A socket decides which bulb you need: check it on the product page before confirming your basket. The finish comes next, browsing the black versions, the white finishes or modern ceiling lights depending on the style of the room.
How to install and care for a blue ceiling light?
Switch off the power at the breaker before any work, then follow the instructions supplied with the model: the mounting plate and the number of fixing points vary from one reference to another. For care, a soft cloth is enough on metal, glass and acrylic. Avoid abrasive products on the parts painted blue.
At what height should a ceiling light be installed?
A ceiling light mounts directly on the ceiling, in its intended place, with the ceiling height of a living room usually around 2.50 m. The question of height mainly arises for a pendant above a table, where the fixture is lowered to around 75 to 85 cm from the tabletop. For a model above the table, see above the table.
Can a blue ceiling light be put on a dimmer?
Compatibility depends on the bulb or module, not on the colour of the fixture. Check the note on the model's product page and on the bulb packaging. The relevant references are grouped in dimmer-compatible models; without that note, assume a dimmer is not intended.
Frequently asked questions about the blue ceiling light
Navy blue or teal ceiling light: how to choose?
Blue appears alone on some models and paired with gold, black or grey on others: a blue ring with gold crystals, a ceiling light with grey and blue shades, or blue offered as a finish on tube models. The exact shade is shown on each model's product page.
Powerful LED ceiling light: which wattage should you look at?
In this selection, LED modules range from 3.5 W to 48 W depending on the model, with round ceiling lights with an opal diffuser reaching the highest wattages. Choose the wattage according to the area to be lit and the light temperature shown on the product page.
Is there a wicker blue ceiling light?
No, this selection contains no wicker: the materials present are metal, steel, aluminium, glass and acrylic, with tube, round, ball, leaf and ring shapes. For a retro feel, dome or opal globe models come closest.
Which socket should you choose for a blue ceiling light?
The E14 socket is the most common in the selection, followed by GX53, then GU10 and E27; a few models use an integrated LED module. The socket determines which bulb you need and should be checked on the model's product page before buying.
Can a blue ceiling light be installed in a bathroom?
This selection is rated IP20, a rating that protects against contact but not against water splashes. Before installing a blue ceiling light in a bathroom, check the ingress protection rating shown on the product page and compare with models designed for damp rooms.
One last check before you click: note the room, the diameter and the socket on a piece of paper, then compare those three points with the model's product page.
