Choose a compact pendant light with even, moisture-protected illumination: in a toilet, size and IP rating matter more than style. This selection brings together models in metal and opal glass, wood or aluminium and linen, mostly with G9 sockets, including an IP44 version designed for damp rooms.
Toilet pendant light: how to choose the right model for a toilet?
Keep two criteria in mind before you start browsing: a small footprint and a protection rating suited to the room. A pendant light replaces the ceiling fixture, focuses light above the pan and leaves the floor clear. Everything else, material, colour, shape, comes afterwards.
Design toilet pendant light: what changes in a small room
A single well-placed light source illuminates better than a ceiling fixture spreading light in all directions. An opal glass diffuser softens the light and avoids harsh spots on tiled walls. In this small space, the pendant light also becomes a decorative feature, visible as soon as the door opens. You will find other compact formats in our selection of pendant lights.
Toilet pendant light: the format that fits anywhere
The Koban A pendant measures 50 cm long by 20 cm deep, an oval pendant that sits parallel to the longest wall. The Brivelle, more compact, fits within 24 cm by 40 cm. Both keep the passage clear, which matters when the room is less than two square metres.
| Model | Material | Socket | Rating | Dimensions | Recommended rooms |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Koban A IP44 | Metal and glass | G9 | IP44 | L 50 x D 20 x H 28 cm, adjustable up to 148 cm | Toilet, bedroom, office |
| Koban A oval frame | Metal and glass | G9 | IP20 | L 50 x D 20 x H 28 cm, adjustable up to 148 cm | Toilet, bedroom, office |
| Nimbe | Metal, aluminium and linen | Not specified | IP20 | Rings of 60 or 80 cm | Living room, dining room, hallway |
| Brivelle | Wood, metal and acrylic | G9 | IP20 | 24 x 40 x 9 cm | Toilet, bedroom, office, bathroom |
Bathroom pendant light IP44: what difference does the rating make?
The IP rating describes the light's resistance to dust and water. An IP20 suits a dry room, an IP44 withstands water splashes. In a toilet, an IP44 model makes the installation safer near a water point or in a poorly ventilated room.
IP20 or IP44: what the rating really means
The first digit covers solids, the second liquids. IP44 means the light resists splashes from all directions, without being immersible. It is neither a global safety certification nor a legal requirement: it is a common-sense guide depending on location.
Where to place an IP44 pendant light in a toilet?
The Koban A IP44 pendant with two opal globes is rated IP44, which makes it relevant above the washbasin or in a small, poorly ventilated space. The other models in the collection are IP20. Find the diffusers concerned in the glass pendant light and metal pendant light ranges.
XXL pendant light for high ceilings: what height and which cable?
Under a high ceiling, the problem is not the size of the light but the cable length. Set the height before fixing the ceiling plate: once the screws are in, any adjustment becomes complicated. Aim for light close to the working plane, not light lost four metres up.
At what height should a pendant light hang above the toilet?
As a rule, keep around 2 metres between the floor and the bottom of the light, and never less than 60 cm above the highest point of the pan. In a cramped room, a short model hung low is better than a large volume.
XXL pendant light: when the room has volume
The Koban A pendant lights adjust up to 148 cm total height, enough to bring the light down above a corner or a piece of furniture. For a large space, a wide model can be found in our full range of lights, and tall hallways are handled with hallway pendant lights.
Wood, black or white toilet pendant light: which finish to choose?
The finish sets the mood as much as the shape. This selection offers white, black, gold and amber, on frames in metal, glass, wood or linen. In a small toilet, a light colour visually enlarges the space, a dark or wood version makes more of a statement.
Wood toilet pendant light: the warm look of Brivelle
The Brivelle pendant with its ribbed diffuser combines wood, metal and acrylic, with an amber tone that warms up pale tiling. The ribbed glass diffuses an enveloping light, less cold than a smooth globe. It also suits a bathroom, provided you accept its IP20 rating.
Black and white toilet pendant light: playing with contrast
White disappears against a pale wall and blends into the decor: the safe choice. Black draws a crisp silhouette against a white or beige background. The Nimbe range comes in white, gold and black, with examples in the black pendant light, white pendant light and gold pendant light ranges.
Original pendant light: how to stand out from the standard model?
An original model is recognisable by its shape, not its label. Two opal globes on an oval frame, or fine linen rings, are enough to create a light that does not look like a mass-produced ceiling fixture. The slenderness of the frame matters as much as the diffuser.
Italian design kitchen pendant light: what the phrase covers
Behind this wording you find fine lines, barely visible metal profiles and opal or clear diffusers. The spirit matters more than the origin: a discreet frame and well-chosen glass give that look. The rest is in the design pendant light range.
Italian design pendant light: fine lines and opal glass
A 50 cm oval topped with two globes stays visually light even above a small surface. The Nimbe rings, at 60 or 80 cm, play the same card on a larger scale. To compare silhouettes, browse design pendant lighting.
Modern and design pendant light: which model for a living room, bedroom or kitchen?
The volume of the room guides the scale, not the other way round. An oval pendant of 24 to 40 cm fits above a bed or a desk, a ring model of 60 or 80 cm suits a large living room or dining room better.
Design bedroom pendant light: what light above the bed?
Above a bed or a desk, you want soft, low-hung light, around 60 to 70 cm from the work surface to avoid glare. The opal globes of the Koban A work well, as does the bedroom pendant light.
Living room pendant light: the right scale above the table
Allow roughly 20 to 30 cm less than the table width for the light's diameter, and 75 to 85 cm between the tabletop and the bottom of the pendant. A short oval for a small table, 60 or 80 cm rings for a large space. See the living room pendant light and the modern pendant light.
Original kitchen pendant light: the logical next step above the island
Above an island, you want light directed at the work surface and a height that does not obstruct movement. The Nimbe rings, in cool white 4500 to 6500 K, light a work surface clearly. More ideas are in the kitchen pendant light and dining room pendant light ranges.

Which socket and bulb to choose for a toilet pendant light?
Most models in the collection have a G9 socket, with stated wattages of 5 W or 12 W depending on the reference. The G9 can be replaced without changing the light: an LED bulb in warm or neutral white is enough, and most models accept a dimmer.
G9 socket: which LED bulb to choose?
The G9 is a small pin socket, common on globe lights. For a toilet or a bedroom, a warm white around 2700 to 3000 K feels relaxing; for an office or kitchen, a neutral white around 4000 K lights more sharply. The Nimbe is stated as cool white 4500 to 6500 K, a crisp light suited to a large space. More ideas in the LED pendant light range and the pendant lighting catalogue.
Dimmer: when should you add one?
Useful when the same room is used by day and by night, or when the light needs to stay low. Check that the bulb you choose is actually dimmable: the bulb carries that compatibility, not just the light. Most models in the collection accept one.
How to install and care for a toilet pendant light?
Switch off the power at the breaker, fix the ceiling plate, connect the wires, set the cable height, then screw on the diffusers. Doing this last step after adjustment avoids handling glass once the light is live.
Toilet pendant light: the installation steps
Mark the position above the working plane, fit the ceiling plate, lock the cable height with the cable clamp before connecting, then switch on and test. If you are unsure about the final height, leave the fixing loose for a trial. For a large space, the pendant lighting range offers other formats.
Cleaning a glass diffuser without scratching it
A soft, slightly damp cloth is enough on metal as well as on opal or ribbed glass. Avoid abrasive products and scouring pads, which dull gold or black finishes. Switch off the power before any work on the globes.

Frequently asked questions about the toilet pendant light
Which toilet pendant light should you choose when the toilet is small?
A compact, bright model is better than a large volume. The Koban A pendant lights with two opal globes measure 50 cm long by 20 cm deep, the Brivelle 24 cm by 40 cm: two formats that keep the passage clear, with a light colour that enlarges the room.
Bathroom pendant light IP44: is it compulsory?
The IP44 rating indicates protection against water splashes, which makes it relevant in a toilet and bathroom. In this selection, the Koban A IP44 pendant carries that rating. IP20 models are used in dry rooms such as the bedroom, office or living room.
Wood toilet pendant light or black toilet pendant light: which to choose?
Wood and amber warm up a tiled room and match pale tones, the black version creates a crisp contrast on a white wall. The Brivelle pendant plays on wood and amber with a ribbed diffuser, while the Nimbe range comes in white, gold and black.
Original pendant light: where to find one?
Look for the shape before the brand: opal globes, an oval frame, fine rings or a ribbed diffuser already stand out from the standard ceiling fixture. The design pendant light and design pendant lighting collections gather these models, and each product page states material, dimensions and protection rating before purchase.
XXL pendant light for high ceilings: how to set the height?
The height is set by adjusting the cable length before final fixing. The Koban A pendant hangs down to 148 cm total height: under a high ceiling, it brings the light closer to the working plane instead of leaving it lost up high.
