Tonone is a Dutch brand of designer lamps, somewhere between industrial and contemporary, worked mainly in aluminium and steel. The selection brings together pendants, floor lamps, desk lamps on a base or with a clamp, bedside lamps and a wall light, for indoor use, most with an E27 socket that leaves the bulb free.
Tonone, which brand of designer lamps is it?
Tonone designs and makes its lamps in the Netherlands, with a deliberately high-end positioning. Two registers coexist in the range: industrial, with slim-section arms and exposed joints, and contemporary, more understated, where the round shape or the ring dominates.
Tonone lighting: what the brand covers
A Tonone lamp does more than light a room, it structures it. A floor lamp with adjustable arms draws a reading corner without drilling a wall; a pendant places a high point above a table and concentrates the light where you eat or work. The proof lies in the material: aluminium and steel structure, brass on some references, IP20 rating for use in a dry room. The metal assemblies stay slim, which matters when the light has to fit in without crushing the decor.
Which Tonone collections at Designix?
The range is split into several collections: Bolt, Beads, Mr. Tubes LED, Bridge, One, Bella, Atlas and Ella. Bolt gathers the articulated lamps, the Bolt two-arm desk lamp for the worktop and the Bolt Small on a base when space is tight. Beads offers a light ring, Bella a version on a tripod. These models can be found in all our designer lighting.
Which Tonone lamps are in the collection?
The families present cover the living room, bedroom, hallway, office and dining room. Two technical approaches circulate: most models run on an E27 bulb of 60 W maximum, a few references carry an integrated LED of around 16 W in warm white. All are IP20, so for dry indoor use.
Tonone pendant: ring, tripod or shade?
The Beads pendant and its light ring spreads a continuous light and is dimmable, which makes it suited to a table where you stay a long time. The Bella pendant on a tripod plays the volume card above an island or a large table, with an E27 socket that lets you choose the bulb and the light temperature.
Tonone floor lamp: one arm or two arms?
One arm lights an armchair or a sofa, two arms light two zones of the same large room. The Elinelora floor lamp and its adjustable arms or the Ferris two-arm floor lamp, dimmer included, sit in a through living room. The Fenizio floor lamp and the Roselio floor lamp aim instead at a single use, reading or fill-in light.
| Type of light | Recommended rooms | Socket | Main material | Style |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LED pendant (Beads) | Living room, dining room, bedroom, kitchen, hallway | Integrated LED | Aluminium | Industrial and modern |
| Pendant on a tripod (Bella) | Living room, dining room, bedroom, kitchen, hallway | E27 | Steel, aluminium, brass | Industrial and modern |
| Floor lamp (Elinelora, Fenizio, Roselio, Ferris) | Living room, office, bedroom | E27 | Steel and aluminium | Industrial and modern |
| Desk lamp, on a base or with a clamp (Bolt, Bolt Small, Vellaro, Landoro, Arinelara) | Office | E27 | Steel and aluminium | Industrial and modern |
| Bedside lamp (Nimora, Sornelena) | Bedroom | E27 | Steel and aluminium | Industrial and modern |
| Wall light (Bolt Sidefit) | Corridor, staircase, hallway, bedroom, living room, dressing room | E27 | Steel and aluminium | Industrial and modern |
How to choose your Tonone lamp?
Three questions in order: which room, which fixing is possible, which bulb I want. The fixing decides on its own: a base moves, a clamp frees the desk, a wall light goes on the wall, a pendant drops from the ceiling. Only then come style and colour.
Tonone lighting: which socket and which wattage?
The vast majority of models use an E27 socket of 60 W maximum. That is a real advantage: you choose the bulb yourself, its actual wattage and its colour temperature, and you replace it without tools when it fades. References with integrated LED, around 16 W in warm white, between 2700 and 3500 K, impose their original temperature instead.
Can a Tonone lamp be dimmed?
Only a small part of the range is designed for a dimmer, in particular a two-arm floor lamp and the ring pendant. On the other models, the intensity is set by the bulb you choose: a filament bulb lowers the mood, a more powerful LED lights more sharply. Check the dimmer mention on the sheet of the model you are considering before comparing two references.
| Marker | What the models show | What that implies |
|---|---|---|
| Socket | E27 on most models, integrated LED on a few references | Choose your own bulb when the socket is E27 |
| Wattage | 60 W on most, 16 W on the LED pendant | Comfortable margin for an LED or filament bulb |
| Protection rating | IP20 | Indoor use, in a dry room |
| Light temperature | Warm white between 2700 and 3500 K on models with integrated LED | Warm light for living rooms |
| Dimmer | Provided on some models only | To check on the sheet of the model you are considering |
| Materials | Aluminium and steel, brass on some references | Metal structure with slim lines |
Where to install a Tonone lamp, room by room?
The living room comes first in uses, followed by the bedroom, the hallway, the office and the dining room. For each room, look for the function before the aesthetics: light a seat, clear a worktop, mark a passage.
Tonone in the living room
A large living room is handled with two sources rather than one. The Elinelora floor lamp covers two seats from a single position, the Beads pendant brings the high point above the coffee table or the dining corner. In the Designix lighting selection, these two families combine without competing.
Tonone in the office and the hallway
In the office, the clamp saves space: the Arinelara clamp lamp and the Landoro with clamp and two arms fix onto a narrow top, while the Vellaro desk lamp moves around. In the hallway, the Bolt Sidefit wall light dresses a corridor or a staircase with a deliberately exposed cable. For the night, the Nimora bedside lamp and the Sornelena table model make do with a narrow bedside table.
Which colour of Tonone lamp to choose?
Black runs through the whole collection. White, blue, grey and yellow equip almost all the models. The Bolt range concentrates the largest number of shades and adds bolder colours, orange, pink or green.
Which colour for the Bolt range?
On an articulated lamp, the colour is seen mainly on the arm and the joint, so up close. A light desk supports a black or grey Bolt that blends in, or a yellow Bolt that becomes the visual marker of the worktop. Look at the model in its setting before deciding.
A bright colour or a neutral shade?
A neutral shade lets the lamp fade behind the furniture, which suits rooms already full of materials. A bright colour, on the other hand, marks the light as a strong element: useful in a hallway or a corridor where you want an anchor point. In both cases, one coloured piece is enough per space.
How to install and care for a Tonone lamp?
All references are IP20: they go indoors, in a dry room, away from water spray. Nothing prevents a well-ventilated bathroom, but none goes above a bathtub or a shower.
How to fix a Tonone wall light or pendant?
The wall light screws to the wall, at eye level in a corridor or on a staircase, and its exposed cable is part of the design. For a pendant, the cable length varies by reference, up to 3 m on some models and around 2.7 m on the Bella, which covers a high ceiling. Allow around 75 to 85 cm between the bottom of the shade and the top of a dining table, in general, then adjust to your height.
Which bulb to put in a Tonone lamp?
With an E27 socket of 60 W maximum, everything stays open: an LED of a few watts for everyday use, a filament bulb for a warmer and more decorative light. In a living room, a temperature around 2700 to 3000 K stays comfortable in the evening. For care, a soft cloth is enough on steel and aluminium; abrasive products scratch the finish.
Why choose Tonone at Designix?
The retailer does not change the lamp, it changes the purchase. You compare the models side by side in the lighting department, you check the fixing and the socket, then you order without leaving home.
What support at Designix?
If you hesitate between a clamp and a base, or between one arm and two arms, the Designix customer service answers on the model sheet: dimensions, cable length, type of fixing. That is the right way to choose a desk lamp or a floor lamp without getting the spot wrong at home.

An indoor light in industrial or contemporary style: pendant, floor lamp, desk lamp, bedside lamp or wall light. Most run on an E27 bulb of 60 W maximum, in IP20, on a steel and aluminium structure.
Tonone or tenoner: is it the same thing?
No. A tenoner is a woodworking machine used to cut tenons, with no connection to lighting. Tonone is a Dutch brand of designer lamps. If your search is about lighting, it is the lighting brand you should look at.
