A round chandelier is first chosen on its diameter and suspension height: from 48 to 150 cm wide, and 102 to 200 cm of cable drop depending on the model. The circle is read from the floor, and the light spreads around it rather than straight below.

What is a round chandelier and what light does it give?

Round chandelier or round ceiling light: what is the difference?

The chandelier hangs and its height is adjustable, which allows it to be lowered above a table. Which round chandelier for the living room?

Which round chandelier for a dining room?

Above a table, a centred round chandelier hung low lights the guests without dazzling. In a dining room, models with several sources such as Volume 6 lights or SATURNO are suitable; in a kitchen, compact formats in metal or aluminium are quicker to clean.

How to choose the diameter, height and power of a round chandelier?

Choose the diameter according to the size of the room and the table, between Ø 48 cm and 150 cm in this collection, then check the maximum cable height, from 102 to 200 cm depending on the models, to know where the chandelier will hang.

The diameters observed range from 48 and 50 cm for a hallway or a bedroom to the 80, 90, 100, 110, 120 and 150 cm of large volumes. The depth often turns around 25 to 30 cm, which conditions the passage under the light. The powers range from 8 W for the small G9 model up to 48 W in integrated LED. A large diameter requires a solid fixing point, since there is only one.

Once the diameter and height are validated, the most affordable models are enough for a hallway or a bedroom, while large diameters are reserved for tall rooms.

Socket, light temperature and dimmer: what compatibilities?

LED models have the integrated source, the others screw in E27, GU10, E14, G4 or G9 depending on the light. The whole collection is IP20, with a light mostly warm white between 2700 and 3500 K, and a dimmer possible on some models only.

Check the socket before buying your bulbs: an E27 socket does not accept a GU10, and the number of sources multiplies the necessary power. For a dimmer, you need a module compatible with the technology of the bulb or the integrated source. Bedroom formats are chosen in adult bedroom chandelier, where soft light prevails.

How to install, hang and maintain a round chandelier?

Cut the power, fix the bracket to the ceiling, centre the chandelier above the table or the room, adjust the cable length then screw in the bulbs. The IP20 rating requires a dry room, and cleaning follows the material: soft cloth for metal, dry for fabric.

Adjust the height before screwing in the bulbs, because the operation quickly becomes acrobatic once the sources are in place. The warranty is 2 years on part of the selection and 5 years on another, depending on the models. No bathroom or outdoor: IP20 does not protect from humidity.
