Start with the room, then the shape: a small format of Ø 12 to 15 cm for the bedroom and hallway, a ball, dome or drop of 20 to 28 cm above a table. This selection brings together pink glass pendant lights whose tinted glass colours the light without darkening it, with a few models compatible with a dimmer.
Which pink glass pendant for which room?
The bedroom and hallway call for a small format, Ø 12 to 15 cm, hung fairly high. The entrance and kitchen accept the same diameters with a longer cable. Above a table, a ball, dome or drop of 20 to 28 cm fills the space better.
Pink glass pendant for the bedroom and hallway
Near a bed or in a passage, a 12 to 15 cm light does not get in the way. The Delfira pendant, Ø 12 cm with a cable adjustable up to 120 cm, and the Luoti, Ø 15 cm, can be set at the desired height; generally allow 60 to 70 cm between the bottom of the shade and the floor for accent lighting. In a hallway, Aino, 20 cm in diameter, stays within a contained format, and the models designed for the bedroom favour small balls and low light.
For the kitchen, entrance and dining room
Above a worktop or a table, the height is measured between the shade and the surface: around 75 to 85 cm for a table, 70 cm for an island, depending on the width to be lit. Plaat A extends down to 160 cm of cable, Luoti to 100 cm. The glass pendants for kitchen play on ball and tube shapes. In the dining room, the stacked drop Adoria and Clarinda, 28 cm, fill the volume above the tabletop.
Light pink or dark pink glass pendants: what are the differences?
Both formulations refer to the same pink tinted glass: it is the density of the tint that changes the result. A light glass lets light through without colouring it too much, a strong tint marks the room more. Some references mix pink with clear, white or gold.
Light pink glass pendant: for soft light
The paler the tint, the more the room stays bright: the glass transmits light and only colours it at the edges. This is the choice for a bedroom or a small hallway where you want a touch of pink without darkening. Very light pink comes close to translucent white glass when lit, and stands apart from it when off.
Dark pink glass pendant: for a pronounced atmosphere
A strong pink tints the light and is also noticeable when off. It holds better in a large room, above a table or in an entrance, where the light becomes a motif in its own right. Pair it then with dark structures, such as black metal pendants, or with warm reflections using gold glass pendants.
Which shape to choose: ball, tube, dome or drop in pink glass?
The ball, the majority in the collection, diffuses a round and even light: ideal in a bedroom, hallway and kitchen. The tube draws a vertical line, useful in an entrance. The dome, wider, lights a table. The drop and the globe play with volume in the dining room or living room.
| Shape | Measured dimensions | Preferred room | Light effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ball | Ø 15 cm (Luoti), 20 cm (Ulmo, Beldanina, Aino) | Bedroom, hallway, entrance, kitchen | Diffuse light, very present pink tint |
| Tube | Ø 20 cm (Plaat A), ball and tube set | Entrance, kitchen, workshop | Vertical lighting, fine line |
| Dome | 20 cm (Beldanina), 28 cm (Clarinda) | Living room, dining room | Pool of light directed downwards |
| Drop | Stacked pendant (Adoria) | Dining room, living room, entrance | Stacked shapes, soft light |
| Globe and structure | 157 x 30 x 30 cm (Drakonia) | Living room, dining room, kitchen | Large volume, even light |
Ball and globe in pink glass: the most diffuse light
A ball spreads light in all directions and lights without creating a marked shadow area: it is the shape that forgives small spaces the most. At 15 or 20 cm, it suits a hallway as well as a bedroom. The Drakonia globe, on a 157 cm structure, gives the same type of light over a larger surface, rather in a living room.
Tube and drop in pink glass: a vertical line above the worktop
The tube concentrates light downwards and marks a clear vertical, practical above a worktop where you want to see what you are doing. The drop stacks volumes and is looked at as much as it lights. To choose between the two families, browse all Designix lights: the Beldanina dome and the Clarinda and its blown glass clearly show the difference in volume above a table.
Which socket and light temperature for a pink glass pendant?
Pink glass accepts several sources: G9 socket on small balls and tubes, E27 on a 15 W model, GX53 on large structures, integrated LED on some references. In warm white, 2700 to 3500 K, the tint stays soft; in cool white, 4500 to 6500 K, it becomes more graphic.
| Reference | Socket | Wattage | Protection rating | Light temperature | Dimmer |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Delfira | G9 | 8 W | IP20 | not specified | no |
| Luoti | G9 | 12 W | IP20 | not specified | no |
| Luoti IP44 | G9 | 12 W | IP44 | not specified | yes |
| Drakonia | GX53 | 1 x 12 W LED (max) | IP20 | not specified | no |
| Ulmo | G9 | not specified | IP20 | warm white and cool white | no |
| Orbée | LED | not specified | IP20 | warm white and cool white | yes |
G9, E27 or GX53 socket: what it changes at purchase
The G9 is the most common here: a small pin bulb that fits easily into a 12 to 15 cm ball. The E27, on Plaat A, opens up the choice of screw bulbs. The GX53 of Drakonia slips into a large structure, and the integrated LED of Orbée cannot be replaced but offers the longest lifespan. To compare the families, see the design glass pendants.
Warm white or cool white behind pink tinted glass
Behind tinted glass, the source temperature changes the perceived colour: around 2700 to 3500 K the pink stays powdery and warm, towards 4500 to 6500 K it becomes sharper and cooler. Ulmo and Orbée are announced in both ranges, which leaves the choice at the time of installation. In a bedroom, a warm white supports the soft side, in a kitchen a cool white makes the tints more definite.
Which colour goes well with fuchsia pink?
A highly saturated pink balances with neutral or cool tones. In this selection, pink coexists with white, black, blue and green, as well as with clear and gold. In decor, white and grey calm the tint, black structures it, green accompanies it.
Fuchsia pink: which neutrals to pair it with
White and neutral grey let the pink express itself without overloading; black creates a sharp contrast and structures the room. Several references in the collection offer pink with white, black, blue and green, which allows you to stay consistent in an already painted room. The blue colourway and the amber tint open two opposite paths, one cool, the other warm.
Powder pink bathroom accessory: how to extend the tint
Powder pink is extended by keeping the same family of tints from one light to another, with a warm light around 2700 to 3500 K so that the pink does not turn grey. A clear or gold glass brings reflections without adding colour. Green glass and grey pendants offer a neutral counterpart if the room already mixes several tints.
Pink bathroom: which pink glass pendant to choose?
In a damp room, a protected model is needed: the Luoti IP44, in glass and metal, Ø 15 cm, is the IP44 reference of the collection. The other models are IP20, reserved for dry rooms. In a bathroom, it is therefore better to choose the IP44 model and reserve the others for the bedroom or living room.
IP20 or IP44: read the protection rating before buying
The IP rating describes resistance to dust and water: IP20 corresponds to use in a dry room, IP44 to protection against splashes, useful near a water point. Only one reference in the collection is announced as IP44, the Luoti IP44, with a cable adjustable up to 100 cm. Check this rating on the product sheet before ordering: it is the criterion that decides for a bathroom.
Pink and grey bathroom: keeping the same tinted glass
Neutral grey lets the pink express itself without overloading it. A pink glass combined with a metal structure or clear glass keeps a simple reading, as on the Beldanina 20 cm dome. If the furniture leans towards anthracite, smoked glass echoes the dark tint without adding colour to the light.
How to install and maintain a pink glass pendant?
The height is adjustable on most models: cable up to 100, 120 or 160 cm depending on the reference, 1.8 m on the Orbée pendant, with a 12 cm ceiling rose on some models. Tinted glass is cleaned dry with a soft cloth, without abrasive products that scratch the colour.
Adjusting the pendant height above a table
Turn off the power at the circuit breaker, fix the ceiling rose, then adjust the cable length before screwing on the shade. Above a table, generally allow 75 to 85 cm between the bottom of the light and the tabletop; above a worktop, around 70 cm. Models with a long cable, such as Plaat A with 160 cm, leave some margin in a tall room.
Cleaning tinted glass without damaging the colour
Tinted glass is dusted with a soft cloth or a dry microfibre; if needed, a slightly damp cloth then dried immediately. Abrasive products and scouring pads scratch the surface and dull the tint. On a glass and metal pendant, take the opportunity while cleaning to check the fixing of the ceiling rose and the condition of the cable.
Dimmer, warranty and reassurance before ordering
Almost all references in this collection are in pink glass. Dimming is only possible on a minority of models: the product sheet specifies this. Secure payment, tracked delivery, returns and Designix customer service.
Which pendants accept a dimmer
Dimmer compatibility depends on the source, not the glass: two references in the collection are announced with this possibility, the Luoti IP44 and Orbée. On the others, the product sheet is authoritative, and a suitable bulb is not always enough. If dimming matters to you, filter on this criterion before browsing our lighting catalogue.
2-year or 5-year warranty: where to check it on the product sheet
The warranty period appears on the sheet of each reference, next to the socket, the protection rating and the dimensions. Most models are covered for 2 years, part of the selection for up to 5 years. Note the reference and the purchase date: this is what speeds up a request to Designix customer service if needed.
Once the room and shape are decided, choose the source: G9 or E27 socket depending on the reference, then warm white for a bedroom, cool white for a worktop. Discover the design glass selection and check on each sheet the diameter, cable length and protection rating before adding to the basket. Secure payment, tracked delivery, possible returns, Designix customer service for any question about installation.
Frequently asked questions
Fuchsia pink with which colour?
Fuchsia pink pairs with white for a clean look, with grey for a soft ensemble, with black for a sharp contrast and with green for a natural match. On the lighting side, the references in the collection offer pink with these colourways, which allows you to keep a consistent pendant in an already painted room.
Which glass ball wall light to match a pink pendant?
Consistency comes through the glass and the source: same pink tint, same ball shape and same light temperature as the pendant. Most models in this collection are IP20, so for a dry room. A pink glass ball wall light extends the light motif on the wall without repeating it.
Which glass shade for a bedside lamp?
A pink tinted glass shade echoes the spirit of the bedroom pendant: clear or powder pink glass depending on the desired effect, and a warm white source, 2700 to 3500 K, as on the Ulmo and Orbée models in the collection. This avoids mixing cool and warm light in the same room.
Pink and grey bathroom: how to find the match?
Neutral grey lets the pink express itself without overloading it. On the light side, a pink glass combined with a metal structure or clear glass keeps a simple reading, as on the Beldanina 20 cm dome. The grey tint of the furniture can be echoed in smoked or clear glass.
Light pink or dark pink glass pendants?
They are the same pink tinted glass, whose density varies from one reference to another. A light pink lets light through without colouring it strongly; a stronger pink tints the room and is more noticeable when off. Some references combine pink with clear, white or gold.
