Measure the free length on the ceiling, then look at the socket: that is what decides where the chandelier goes and which bulb to plan for. A brown chandelier for the living room ranges from 20 cm for Tambera to 122 cm for Selvara, Thalos and Lyraelle, with light wood arms in E27, all in LED and IP20.
Which brown chandelier should you choose for a living room or lounge?
A living room brown chandelier is chosen by its length and socket: the tube models measure 122 cm (Selvara, Thalos, Lyraelle), the eight-arm Lunnorissa 100 cm, Runa 85 cm and Marius 75 cm. Models with wooden arms light up with an E27 socket.
On a light wall, the warm brown of the wood draws out the height of the room and the light sockets bounce a grazing light onto the table. The Quinora wooden chandelier sums up this approach: 61 cm, several light points, a simple line. To compare formats, browse the living room chandeliers.
Which chandelier for a small living room?
In a small living room, stay under 60 cm in length: Marius measures 58 cm, Runa 58 cm and Quinora 61 cm, all in steel and light wood with an E27 socket at 15 W. The Tambera chandelier stays under 20 cm and sits close to the ceiling, without cluttering the view.
Large living room chandelier: which model above a table?
Above a table, a large brown tube chandelier fills the space without blocking the view: Selvara, Thalos and Lyraelle are 122 cm long and 6.5 to 14 cm wide, with an adjustable suspension up to 208, 212 or 215 cm. See Thalos and its aluminium tube.
How do you install and wire a brown chandelier?
Switch off the circuit breaker, then connect the blue wire to neutral and the brown wire to the live terminal of the chandelier connector block; green and yellow is the earth. Fix the mounting plate to the ceiling, adjust the cable length and switch the power back on. All these chandeliers are IP20, so indoor use only.
If you are fitting out several rooms, first take a look at all the lighting in the house to match the finishes. A solid fixing point in the ceiling and a well-seated mounting plate prevent vibrations; find the formats in the chandelier collection.
How do you connect the blue and brown wires of a chandelier?
Identify the three conductors: blue for neutral, brown for live, green and yellow for earth. Open the chandelier connector block, slide each stripped wire into the matching terminal and tighten. If the colours of your installation differ, switch off the power and check with a multimeter before reconnecting.
How do you adjust the height of a brown chandelier?
The suspension is adjusted by winding or releasing the cable on the mounting plate. Tube models go up to 215 cm (Selvara), 212 cm (Lyraelle) and 208 cm (Thalos), the round Fabricia up to 230 cm. As a rule, keep 60 to 80 cm between the bottom of the chandelier and a table, a little more in a hallway.
Dark brown, light brown or chocolate brown chandelier: which shades and materials?
The brown in this selection ranges from taupe to deep brown, often paired with white, black, beige, green or blue depending on the finish. In terms of material, steel and wood dominate, aluminium features on the tube chandeliers and glass remains on one model. All are IP20 and LED.
Complementary colour to brown: which shades go with a brown chandelier?
The complementary colour to brown sits on the blue and green side, two shades found in the finishes of Selvara, Thalos, Lyraelle and Fabricia. White, beige and taupe calm the warmth of the wood; black underlines it. Compare the black finishes and the white versions.
Brown wood chandelier or brown glass chandelier: which material should you choose?
Wood and steel dominate: Quinora, Trilux, Runa, Marius and Lunnorissa combine steel and light wood sockets in E27. Glass appears on Quinta, mounted on steel with a G9 socket, and aluminium features on Thalos and Lyraelle. Wood warms up a light room; glass and aluminium lighten a dark room. For warm metallic shades, see the brass chandeliers.
Which socket and wattage for a brown chandelier?
Brown chandeliers with wooden arms use an E27 socket at 15 W (Quinora, Trilux, Lunnorissa, Runa), the tube models a GX53 or GU10 at 10 W (Thalos, Lyraelle), Tambera and Selvara an E14 at 10 W, and Quinta as well as Fabricia a G9.
| Socket | Stated wattage | Models concerned | Bulb to plan for |
|---|---|---|---|
| E27 | 15 W | Quinora, Trilux, Lunnorissa, Runa, Marius | E27 LED |
| E14 | 10 W | Tambera, Selvara | E14 LED |
| G9 | 8 W, 5 x 6 W LED maximum | Fabricia, Quinta | G9 LED |
| GX53 | 10 W | Thalos | GX53 LED |
| GU10 | 10 W | Lyraelle | GU10 LED |
Brown E27 or E14 chandelier: what is the difference?
E27 is the large screw socket, the one on models with arms; it takes wider bulbs and is easy to replace. E14 is slimmer and features on Tambera and Selvara. Both are available everywhere in LED, but E27 leaves more choice in colour temperature, from warm white to neutral white.
Which wattage to light a living room or kitchen?
As a rule, you count a higher combined wattage in a large room than in a hallway, but it is the colour temperature that changes the mood: around 2700 K for a warm living room, 3000 to 4000 K for a kitchen where you work. Here, everything is LED, from 8 W to 15 W depending on the model.
Brown chandelier for bedroom, kitchen, hallway: which room for which model?
All dry rooms can take a brown chandelier: the living room and bedroom are the most common, followed by the entrance, hallway and kitchen. For a kitchen or hallway, choose a short model like Tambera (20 cm); in a bedroom, wooden arms of 58 to 61 cm are enough.
| Room | Suitable models | Dimensions to note | Material and socket |
|---|---|---|---|
| Living room and lounge | Selvara, Thalos, Lyraelle, Lunnorissa | 122 cm long, 100 cm for Lunnorissa | Steel, aluminium and wood; E14, GX53, GU10, E27 |
| Dining room | Thalos, Selvara, Tambera | 122 cm long, 20 cm for Tambera | Aluminium and metal; GX53, E14 |
| Bedroom | Runa, Marius, Quinora, Trilux | 58 to 61 cm long | Steel and wood; E27 at 15 W |
| Kitchen | Tambera, Lyraelle | 20 cm, 122 cm long | Metal and aluminium; E14, GU10 |
| Hallway and entrance | Lyraelle, Quinora, Lunnorissa | 122 cm, 61 cm, 100 cm | Aluminium, steel and wood; GU10, E27 |
Brown bedroom chandelier: which format above a bed?
Above a bed, a chandelier that hangs low avoids getting in the way of your gaze: Lunnorissa measures 16.5 cm high and 100 cm long, Runa and Marius 16.5 cm by 85 and 75 cm, and Quinora 26 cm by 61 cm. All use E27, which leaves the choice of bulb. See the bedroom chandeliers.
Kitchen chandelier: which compact model should you choose?
In a kitchen, the constraint is the ceiling height: Tambera with brown shades hangs only 20 cm and stays above the worktop, with an E14 socket. Lyraelle, at 122 cm long and 6.5 cm wide, suits a long room. For a table, also look at how to light a dining room.
Large chandelier, spider chandelier or large industrial chandelier: which styles in brown?
The brown chandeliers in this selection cover modern, minimalist, nordic, industrial and retro styles, with round shapes, tubes and wooden arms. Large formats go up to 122 cm long, and industrial models like Lunnorissa, Runa or Marius combine steel and wooden sockets.
Large industrial chandelier: which models in brown?
The industrial look shows in the curved arms and light wood sockets: Lunnorissa (eight arms, 100 cm), Runa (six arms, 85 cm) and Marius (75 cm). All in steel and wood, E27 socket and 15 W, they hold their own in a large room or an entrance. Compare with the modern models in the selection.
Diamond chandelier, water drop chandelier: which chandelier shapes exist?
Diamond chandelier and water drop chandelier describe plays of pendants: two names that speak of reflections, not structure. This brown selection favours wooden arms, aluminium tubes and round shapes. For pendants, see the crystal chandeliers and the spider family.
Modern, design or chic brown chandelier: how do you choose according to your budget?
A modern brown chandelier is recognisable by its simple lines, its tubes or round shapes and its single socket (GU10, GX53 or G9). Models with wooden arms multiply the light points and aim for a more elaborate room. The budget therefore comes down to the material and the number of sockets, not size alone.
Design chandelier or modern chandelier: what are the differences?
Modern stays understated: straight line, a single socket, plain colour, like Thalos and Lyraelle. Design plays with shape, curved arms and the meeting of materials, like Marius or Quinta. Both registers coexist, it is up to you to decide according to the effect you want. Browse the design pieces.
How do you stay within a reasonable budget without sacrificing light?
A single socket costs less to equip than a model with eight sockets: only one bulb to replace. Tube models and round aluminium shapes play this role in the selection. Stick to LED solutions. The affordable selection favours these configurations, to compare with the more dressed-up modern living room chandeliers.
How do you care for a brown chandelier and make its lighting last?
A soft cloth is enough for the wooden arms and steel: no water on the sockets. Bulbs are replaced according to the model's socket, E27, E14, G9, GX53 or GU10, always LED. All these chandeliers are IP20 and covered by a 5-year warranty for most of the selection, 2 years for the rest.
Replacing a bulb: which socket should you choose?
Simply use the original socket: E27 on models with arms, E14 on Tambera and Selvara, G9 on Quinta and Fabricia, GX53 on Thalos, GU10 on Lyraelle. Switch off the power before unscrewing, let it cool down, and fit an LED of equal or lower wattage than stated.
What do the 2 and 5-year warranties cover?
Most of the selection is guaranteed for 5 years, the rest for 2 years. These periods cover the light fitting and its electrical components in normal indoor use, at IP20. Keep the invoice: it serves as proof of purchase for any request to customer service.
Secure payment, tracked delivery, possible returns and Designix customer service: you order with no risk, and the team answers before and after the purchase.
Still unsure about the size? First note the available length on the ceiling, then the height between the floor and the bottom of the chandelier: these two measurements are enough to rule out half the models. Then find the full chandelier collection to compare wooden arms, tubes and round shapes.
