How to choose the most suitable lighting?
This article is also available in French: Comment choisir l'éclairage le plus adapté ?

The lighting of a modern living room can be designed in several ways, namely: ambient lighting, direct lighting, and accent lighting.
These different forms of lighting depend mainly on how the light is focused and located in the space: either it is distributed diffusely, reflecting off surfaces, or it is more direct and focused near a person performing an activity.
Did you know that there are several types of lighting according to their design? Indeed, different types of lighting fixtures and lamps seek to solve a common problem: how to position the light at the right height and orientation in a room in order to fulfill its purpose?
Different forms of luminaires have different biases. Indeed, the physical design of the fixture or lamp can use one of the following three possibilities: ceiling lights, for example, suspended from a chain using gravity or fixed near the ceiling itself, floor lamps that attempt to overcome gravity, for example with a floor-standing lamp or an accent lamp, and finally table lamps that place the light source above a piece of built-in furniture, such as a table lamp, a desk lamp, or a low-hanging pendant lamp.
There are also several types of lamps, which diffuse light in different ways depending on their design. For example, a table lamp generally reflects some of the light from the top and bottom of the shade and diffuses it more underneath, whereas a chandelier can radiate light in all directions.
