For a bedroom, choose a white bedside lamp that shines downward: a tilted head or a closed shade, placed at mattress height. This collection brings together models in metal, fabric or glass, with E27, E14, G9 or integrated LED sockets, from the small 13 cm format to the 30 cm dome.
Which white bedside lamp should you choose for a bedroom?
For sleeping and reading, choose a lamp whose light goes downward: a tilted head, a half-sphere shade or a closed conical shade. Place it at mattress height, 40 or 50 cm above, with a gap from the wall that lets your hand pass. In a bedroom, small white formats from 13 to 18 cm fit on a narrow bedside table.
White bedside lamp for a small bedside table
When the top is less than 30 cm, a large dome will not fit. Three solutions exist in the collection: the Vellyra, a 13 cm clip-on lamp with a perforated conical shade in plastic and metal that clips onto a furniture edge, the Orisamano with its 15 cm tilted cylindrical LED head, and the Albella, a 14 cm perforated conical shade on an E27 socket. The small bedside format is chosen above all by diameter.
Which socket for a bedroom bedside lamp?
The E27 socket lets you choose the bulb and the temperature: Vellyra, Albella, Funga, Ivorra. G9 equips compact shapes, such as the Candora at 18 cm or the Demi with its tilted half-sphere shade, and sends light downward. The E14 of the Novvesora suits tight spaces. Models with integrated LED already show their warm white. To go further, see the bedroom selection and all our bedside lamps.
| Room | What we look for | Format spotted | Common socket |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bedroom | Low light for reading without glare | 13 to 18 cm, tilted head or half-sphere | G9, E14, E27 |
| Office | Beam directed at the work surface | Clip, 43.5 cm counterweight arm | E27, LED |
| Living room | Accent light on a console or sideboard | 43 to 55 cm high | LED, E27, G9 |
| Spacious bedroom | Large lamp placed on furniture | 26 to 30 cm in diameter | E14, LED |
A wide diameter and a freely chosen socket is what the Novvesora offers in metal, ceramic and glass.
Warm white or cool white: which light colour should you choose?
Warm white, from 2700 to 3500 K, gives an amber, restful light, suited to the bedroom and evening reading. Cool white, from 4500 to 6500 K, makes contrasts sharper and suits an office better. On socket models, the bulb sets the temperature.
Does the temperature change how white looks?
Yes, and it is a common trap: the body stays white in both cases, only the light changes. A warm white makes a white wall look slightly cream; a cool white pulls it toward grey. On models with integrated LED, the temperature is stated by the manufacturer, most often in warm white, as on the Marsamaro and its 26 cm transparent glass dome.
Can you switch from warm white to cool white?
On an E27, E14 or G9 socket, yes: simply change the bulb. On an integrated LED module, no. Watch out for a common confusion: a dimmer lowers the intensity, never the colour. The Galéa, with its three stacked concrete globes, accepts both temperatures. LED lighting groups the models where the colour is already fixed, and the lamp section covers the rest of the catalogue.
| Element | What it changes | Models concerned |
|---|---|---|
| E27 | Bulb freely chosen, temperature of your choice | Vellyra, Albella, Funga, Lumière, Varia, Ivorra |
| E14 | Small screw socket for tight spaces | Novvesora |
| G9 | Compact format, direct light downward | Candora, Demi, Vandella, Elunia, Galéa |
| Integrated LED | Non-replaceable module, stated temperature | Marsamaro, Avéa, Orisamano, Luxuria |
| Dimmer | Lowers light intensity, not colour | Marsamaro, Avéa, Galéa, Luxuria |
White and black bedside lamp, white and gold: how do you match finishes?
The white of this collection is lifted by black, sometimes gold, silver or beige, carried by the stem, base, cup or shade. White and black gives a graphic look, white and gold warms the room, an ivory or beige blends more discreetly into a bright bedroom.
White and wood bedside lamp: what effect?
Wood brings a matte warmth that contrasts with smooth whites. On the Luxuria, a 45 x 15 cm tube combines wood, metal and fabric. To stay in that register without leaving white, look at the wood bedside lamps: the light tone of the wood pairs well with a white shade.
White and gold or white and black: which mood?
Black structures: the Vandella and its rounded metal cup play on sharp contrast. Gold warms: the Ivorra, with an ivory shade on a gold structure, lights without coldness, and the Avéa mixes metal, glass and iron with a gold stem. The black and white models and the gold finishes can be browsed separately if you start from a colour already in place, for example that of the full range of our lighting.
How do you light an office or a reading corner with a white bedside lamp?
To work, a directed beam is better than diffuse light: a tilted head, an articulated arm or a clip to fix on the surface. The collection offers in white a clip with an E27 socket, a 43.5 cm high counterweight arm, a tilted cylindrical LED head and a 45 x 15 cm tube.
How do you fix a clip lamp on a desk?
Choose a tabletop edge thin enough for the clamp to grip without slipping, and aim the shade toward the keyboard rather than the eyes. The Vellyra, with its clip and perforated conical shade, measures 13 cm in diameter for 22 cm in height: it fits on a shelf as well as a desk. Its light passes through the perforations, which avoids a hot spot on the page.
Directed light or diffuse light for working?
Directed, a lamp concentrates the lighting where you write and leaves the rest of the room in ambient light. Diffuse, it lights more widely but needs more power for the same comfort. The Avéa, with its articulated arm and ovoid counterweight, adjusts precisely, while the Orisamano in 9 W LED stays fixed but tilted. The design selection and the more original pieces show other mechanisms.
Bedside lamp, table lamp or floor lamp: which lamp for the living room?
A floor lamp lights from the ground and stands tall; a bedside lamp or a table lamp slips onto a side table, a console or a sideboard. Several white models from 43 to 55 cm high also serve as accent light in the living room.
Can a bedside lamp serve as a living room lamp?
Yes, provided you accept low light: that is precisely the effect sought near a sofa, more intimate than a ceiling light. The Varia measures 55 cm high by 30 cm in diameter, the Funga 51 cm in metal, iron and linen, the Avéa 43.5 cm with a dimmer. Table lamps play the same role on a low piece of furniture.
What is the point of a long cable on an accent lamp?
Not to depend on the nearest socket. On the Funga, the cord with switch reaches 225.5 cm, which lets you place the lamp far from the wall without a visible extension lead. If the furniture is really far away, a wall light or wall lamp removes the problem of the cable on the floor.
How do you place and maintain a white bedside lamp?
Place the lamp within reach, on a bedside table, a console or a shelf, and away from splashes: the whole collection is IP20, so for indoor use only. The cable determines the distance to the socket, from a few tens of centimetres to more than two metres depending on the model.
How do you connect several lamps to a single electrical supply?
Add up the stated wattages to check that the line and the socket can handle them, then distribute over a power strip or a rail, without stacking adapters. LED bulbs use less for the same use. To add a fixed socket, it is better to entrust the work to an electrician.
How do you clean a fabric or glass shade?
Dust dry with a soft cloth or a soft-bristled brush. On glass, a slightly damp cloth then wiped works well. Never use water on metal parts or on taut fabric, such as that of the Lumière and its white linen shade on a black structure.

Before ordering, check three things: the diameter available on your furniture, the height relative to the mattress or the work surface, and the socket of the bulb you already own. The affordable models meet the same criteria as the others, and the workshop style is worth a look if you want a perforated shade.
Mushroom bedside lamp, Italian design or original piece: how do you find your way?
The mushroom lamp is recognisable by its dome shade set on a thin stem, like the Candora at 18 cm in metal with a G9 socket, or the Funga in metal, iron and linen. Design plays out elsewhere: glass dome, transparent double shade, stacked globes or articulated counterweight arm.
What is called a mushroom bedside lamp?
It is a lamp whose rounded shade, dome or half-sphere, rests on a narrow stem. The light comes out from below and spreads widely around the base, which lights the book without dazzling the neighbour. The Candora combines this profile with a cylindrical metal stem, the Funga with a cord with switch.
What is a design bedside lamp?
A focus on material and transparency rather than ornament. The Marsamaro sets a transparent glass dome on a base, the Novvesora stacks two transparent shades, the Elunia plays on an organic shade with a globe texture, the Galéa stacks three globes in different shades and the Avéa articulates its arm. Compare the glass lamps and the vintage-look pieces to find the register you like.
How do you recognise a real salt lamp?
A real salt lamp is carved from a block of rock salt: irregular, veined surface, heavy, warm light leaning toward orange-red. Imitations moulded in resin or glass are smooth, regular and lighter. This page presents white bedside lamps, not salt lamps.
Why does the light of a salt lamp look red?
The tint comes from the block itself, which filters light into oranges, and not from a separate bulb. Run your hand over the surface: a real salt lamp is cold at first, then slightly damp to the touch, and shows irregular veins from one block to another. A moulded imitation stays perfectly smooth and regular.
Salt lamp or white bedside lamp: two different uses
The salt lamp serves as an ambient object with a very warm light, not well suited to reading. A white bedside lamp lights for reading and can be adjusted. If you are looking for a natural look rather than white light, driftwood lamps give comparable warmth while remaining usable every day.
Frequently asked questions about the white bedside lamp
What is the best light colour for a room: warm white or cool white?
Warm white, from 2700 to 3500 K, gives an amber, restful light, ideal for a bedroom and for reading in the evening. Cool white, from 4500 to 6500 K, makes contrasts sharper and suits an office. On models with an E27, E14 or G9 socket, the bulb you choose sets the temperature.
What are the trendy bedside lamps for 2026?
The collection follows directions rather than a calendar: round shapes in ball, tube or dome form, modern and contemporary lines, and material combinations such as metal with glass, fabric or gold. White remains the base, often lifted with black, silver or wood.
How do you connect several lamps to a single electrical supply?
Add up the wattage of the lamps to check that the line and the socket can handle them, then distribute over a power strip or a rail, without stacking adapters. LED bulbs use less for the same use. To add a fixed socket on an existing circuit, it is better to call an electrician.
How do you choose an Italian design bedside lamp?
Italian design is recognisable by simple lines, careful materials and a focus on transparency: here, a transparent glass dome, a double shade, stacked globes or an articulated counterweight arm. White serves as the base, sometimes lifted with a chrome or gold stem.
Should you have a floor lamp or a bedside lamp in the living room?
A floor lamp lights from the ground, stands tall and wide; a bedside lamp placed on a console or a side table gives lower, more intimate light. In a living room, both can coexist: the bedside lamp then serves as an accent next to the sofa or an armchair.
