Consider three criteria first: height, colour and power supply. This collection brings together coloured floor lamps, all rated IP65, in plastic, with integrated LED or solar power, plus a few E27 socket models that let you choose the bulb.
What is a coloured floor lamp and what light does it give?
A coloured floor lamp is a standing light whose shade or silhouette defines the space before the technical details do. The available light splits into cool white from 4500 to 6500 K across the whole selection, warm white from 2700 to 3500 K on most models, and neutral white from 3500 to 4500 K on a single model.
Designer coloured floor lamp: what it changes in a room
A strong shade or a recognisable shape reads from a distance and structures the corner where it stands. To go further in that register, browse more designer pieces with worked lines. The whole lighting universe can be browsed by room, material or style.
Cool white or warm white: which light to choose?
Cool white, from 4500 to 6500 K, lights frankly and suits a path or a terrace where people walk. Warm white, from 2700 to 3500 K, sets a softer mood near a seat. Check this point before choosing from the floor lamp range.
Floor lamp: which height for which use?
The models in this selection run from 100 cm to 177.2 cm, several being offered in two heights. In a living room, a large format places the light above the seat; on a terrace, a lower format lights without glare. The shape of the stand, tube or tripod, contributes to stability outdoors.
Height for a living room
Allow 165 to 177 cm to light over a sofa or an armchair, and 139 to 144 cm for light closer to the floor, near a reading chair. The Jovinio LED tube comes in 140 and 170 cm, which lets you settle this point. Compare formats in the floor lamps.
Height for a terrace
A low format, around 100 cm, sits near a garden chair or in a flower bed without dominating the space. The Martorina glowing cactus, at 139 cm, already plays the role of a decorative light point. For indoor use, look instead at equipping the living room.
| Model | Shape | Dimensions | Socket | Colour | Rooms |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hepia | Vertical tube | 45 x 165 cm | LED | White | Outdoor |
| Martorina | Glowing cactus | 43 x 61 x 139 cm | LED | White and green | Outdoor, terrace, living room |
| Zentorena | Cylinder | 100 or 160 cm | LED | White | Outdoor, terrace |
| Castalia | Conical tube | 119 or 177.2 cm | LED | Anthracite, gold or pink | Outdoor, terrace |
| Eco | Tripod with wooden legs | 43 x 140 cm | E27 | White and wood | Outdoor, terrace, living room |
| Siltorina | Solar cactus | 44 x 31 x 100 cm | LED | White and green | Outdoor, terrace, living room |
Halogen floor lamp or LED floor lamp: which to choose today?
The halogen floor lamp is not offered in this selection, which relies on integrated LED and solar power. A few models with an E27 socket let you freely choose your bulb and therefore your colour temperature. Dimmable intensity is now found on dimmable floor lamps.
Halogen floor lamp with dimmer: what you need to know
The dimmer raises and lowers the intensity of a single light. This function now exists on LED models: see floor lamps with variable intensity if this setting matters to you. No model on this page is advertised as dimmable.
E27 socket or integrated LED: what difference in daily use?
All the models in the collection are outdoor lights protected to IP65. Compare the two approaches in LED lighting.
Which original floor lamp to choose: tube, cactus or tripod?
Three families stand out: tubes, the majority, available in straight, cylindrical or conical versions up to 177.2 cm; original shapes such as glowing cactuses; and tripods with wooden legs. An original shape is recognised by its silhouette, readable from a distance, and its strong colour.
Original living room floor lamp: the shapes that break the mould
The glowing cactus reads like a plant and works in a terrace pot as well as in a living room corner. The tripod, for its part, brings a visible material: discover a model with wooden legs. For a more understated result, explore contemporary lines.
Globe floor lamp: where to find one?
This selection mainly highlights tubes, original shapes and tripods. Round silhouettes are gathered elsewhere: globe silhouettes bring together this type of model, with their own materials and colours.
Coloured living room floor lamp: which colour for which decor?
White dominates the selection and blends into any decor; anthracite, green, gold and pink bring the colour. A floor lamp fills the empty space of a room, where a coloured table lamp is content with a console or a shelf.
Coloured lamp or coloured floor lamp: which to choose?
The difference lies in the format and the floor space taken. A coloured lamp lives on a piece of furniture, a floor lamp lights a whole area and becomes a decorative element in its own right. Look at models with a current design if you are after that presence.
White, green, gold, pink or anthracite: matching the shade to the place
On a light wood terrace, white and green stay discreet; gold and pink become the colour accent. The Castalia conical tube comes in anthracite, gold and pink. For a light decor, start from a white colourway, and for a warm accent, from a gold finish.
Solar or mains coloured floor lamp: which to choose?
Some models run on mains with an integrated LED, others on solar. Solar avoids running a cable on a terrace or in a flower bed, provided you have a spot well exposed to daylight. The plugged version remains the solution when the place is in shade.
Solar coloured floor lamp: for which use?
It suits a terrace, a flower bed or a garden corner far from a socket. The Siltorina solar cactus and the Pivano tripod work this way, with an E27 socket on the second.
E27 socket or integrated LED: plug in, place, choose your bulb
The Eco wooden tripod takes an E27 bulb, which lets you set the temperature to your taste. The Zentorena LED cylinder combines plastic and metal and stands at 100 or 160 cm.
Plastic, metal or wood, IP65 and care: what matters outdoors
The models in the collection are made of plastic, with metal or wood on some tubes and tripods. The whole selection is rated IP65, so protected against dust and water jets, which allows installation outdoors. Cleaning with clear water and checking the fixings are enough to keep them neat.
IP65: what this rating allows outdoors
The IP65 rating covers dust and water jets, not immersion. An IP65 floor lamp can therefore stay on a terrace or in a garden exposed to rain. The Elitorella tube and the Hepia model share this protection.
Caring for a coloured floor lamp outdoors
Dust the surface, rinse with clear water without high pressure near the electrical parts, then dry. On a wooden base, check the screws are tight once a season. The two-year warranty covers the whole selection. For a different finish, see a model with a metal structure.
In which rooms to install a coloured floor lamp?
The selection covers three real uses: outdoor for all models, terrace for a majority, living room for some. The IP65 rating lets you leave them outside. A low format can also fit in a small clear space, provided you check the available room.
Outdoor, terrace and living room: the intended uses
Outside, the floor lamp structures a path or a dining corner; in a living room, it lights an armchair and dresses the void left near a wall. For an interior thought through in detail, compare living room models with a current design and formats suited to a bedroom.
Small space and WC: does a coloured floor lamp have its place?
A WC or hallway floor lamp only makes sense if the floor stays clear: a low format, around 100 cm, suits better than a large tube. You should also avoid permanent humidity. In that case, aim for another use, such as a work corner.
How to choose your coloured floor lamp, step by step?
Four criteria are enough: location, height, colour and power supply, solar or mains. Then check the IP65 rating if the floor lamp stays outside and the two-year warranty. The most frequent mistakes remain a format too large in a passage and a spot too shady for a solar model.
Four criteria before buying
Set the place, then the height between 100 and 177 cm depending on the seat or the flower bed. Choose the shade: white to blend in, green, gold or pink to make a mark. Finish with the power supply, and the socket if you want to choose the bulb. For a controlled budget, look at accessible models.
Mistakes to avoid
Installing a light outdoors without suitable protection, placing a large format in a passage, forgetting the exposure of a solar model: three pitfalls that are settled at the moment of choice. Finally, check the overall style, for example worked living room pieces. Secure payment, tracked delivery, returns and Designix customer service support you right through to installation: compare the heights, choose your colour, then order.

Frequently asked questions
What is an original floor lamp?
It is a floor lamp recognised by its silhouette before its function: slim tube, cactus shape, tripod with wooden legs. Here, originality also comes from the colour, green, gold, pink or anthracite, on a base rated IP65 for outdoor use.
Which floor lamp to choose for a living room?
Look first at the height: the models run from 100 to 177 cm, some adjustable to two heights. A large format lights above the seat, a lower format sits near an armchair. Then check the light temperature, cool white or warm white.
Is a halogen floor lamp still suited to a living room?
The halogen floor lamp is not offered here; the collection works on integrated LED or solar. If you are after adjustable light like that of a dimmable halogen, turn to dimmable floor lamps, or to a model with an E27 socket so you can choose the bulb.
Where to find a globe floor lamp?
This selection favours tubes, glowing cactuses and tripods. For a globe silhouette, a dedicated collection gathers models of this type, with their own materials and colours. Compare heights and light temperatures before settling your choice.
Can a coloured floor lamp be left outside all year?
The models in this selection are rated IP65, which protects them from dust and water jets, and they are advertised for outdoor use. The two-year warranty covers the whole selection. Regular cleaning with clear water preserves the look of the plastic, metal or wood.
