Match the length of the fixture to the area you want to light, not to the entire room: an 80 to 118 cm tube for a living room or hallway, 30 to 45 cm in a bedroom. Every model in this collection is ceiling-mounted with GU10 LED bulbs, for dry indoor use (IP20), in steel or metal with a silver, black or white finish.
Chrome ceiling lamp LED: which light for which room?
Every model in this collection works with GU10 LED bulbs, in fixtures rated IP20, so for dry indoor spaces. The light you perceive depends mainly on the number of light points and how they are arranged: a six-point fixture lights a wide area, a two-point model targets a zone.
Powerful LED ceiling lamp: where does the real power come from?
The perceived power comes from the number of light points and their orientation, not from an isolated figure. Six points spread over 118 cm cover a large surface, two points light an entrance or a reading corner. Each socket takes a 10 W GU10 LED bulb, chosen for its beam angle and colour temperature. The shop's LED ceiling lamps with GU10 bulbs all follow this logic.
GU10 socket: bulbs you replace one by one.
The GU10 socket is common to the whole selection: a burnt-out bulb is changed without dismantling the fixture, and the room's colour temperature changes without buying a new light. A six-point fixture, such as the RING 6L Ceiling Lamp, is therefore repaired bulb by bulb. To compare formats, browse all our ceiling lamps and ceiling lights.
Which chrome ceiling lamp to choose for a living room, even a large one?
In a living room, a linear fixture of 80 to 118 cm sits alongside a sofa or a large table, while a round model of 25 cm suits shorter surfaces. The number of points, from four to six, determines whether the light stays diffuse or concentrates on a wall.
Large living room ceiling lamp: which lengths are available?
Three lengths cover large volumes: 80 cm on the RING 4L, 117 cm on the 117 cm NERO 6 fixture and 118 cm on the RING 6L. The NERO 6 works as well above a table as across a living room, with six GU10 bulbs spread along the profile and a height of 18 cm.
LED living room ceiling lamp: diffuse or concentrate the light?
A four or six point fixture diffuses widely, while a two or three point model concentrates on a precise zone. To light a living room, go for at least four points and spread them along the length. Models with clean lines keep the ceiling understated.
Chrome kitchen ceiling lamp: how to coordinate it with a modern kitchen?
In a kitchen, a 45 to 80 cm fixture ceiling-mounted above the worktop lights the preparation area without taking up space. White finishes blend into a light ceiling, while chrome and black stand out more against matt fronts.
Kitchen ceiling lamp: linear tube or several points?
A 45 to 80 cm tube gives even light along the whole useful length of the worktop. The 30 cm long RING 2 is enough over a preparation corner, four points cover worktop and island. Find these formats in the selection of kitchen lighting.
Which finishes for a light or dark kitchen?
On a light ceiling, white almost disappears and silver stands out gently, while black draws a sharp line. A black and chrome fixture coordinates with a dark worktop. The black versions therefore stand out more, especially above an island.
Chrome bedroom ceiling lamp: which format above the bed?
In a bedroom, a compact format or a short 30 to 45 cm fixture is better, so the ceiling lamp does not dominate the room and the light stays soft. Two or three points are enough; spread them on either side of the bed rather than in the centre.
Bedroom ceiling lamp: why a short fixture?
A 30 to 45 cm tube or the LOOPEZ and its 29 cm height take up less ceiling than a long fixture and let the room breathe. The LOOPEZ measures only 6 cm in diameter, which makes it discreet even in a small bedroom. The bedroom is the most represented room among the shop's bedroom ceiling lamps.
Where to place the light points relative to the bed?
Above a bed, it is better to offset the points on either side of the frame than to aim at the middle of the ceiling. A two or three point adjustable model lets you read on one side without lighting the other. Modern bedroom models often play on this distribution.
Chrome ceiling lamp round or tube: which shape for your room?
The tube shape largely dominates this collection, in fixtures of 30, 45, 80, 117 or 118 cm, completed by round models of 25 cm and a compact format of 6 cm in diameter. The numbers in the references indicate the number of light points: 2, 3, 4 or 6.
How to read the references 2, 3, 4 and 6?
The number counts the light points: 2 for a 30 cm fixture, 3 for 45 cm, 4 for the 25 cm round and the 80 cm tube, 6 for 117 or 118 cm. The L in RING 6L and RING 4L indicates the linear profile, without L it is the round format.
Which format for a hallway or dining room?
In a passage, the long tube is mounted along the axis to avoid shadow areas. Hallways and entrances therefore take 80 to 118 cm without hindering movement. Above a table, allow an 80 cm fixture or a centred 25 cm round, such as the RING 4. The dining room and the round format combine well over a narrow table.
This guide summarises the formats available by room.

Chrome bathroom ceiling lamp: is it suitable?
No: the ceiling lamps in this collection are rated IP20, a rating reserved for dry rooms. In a bathroom, you need a light with a higher protection rating. Chrome and glass change nothing about this constraint: the rating always comes before the finish.
Chrome and glass ceiling lamp: what differences in rendering?
The fixtures in this collection are in steel or metal, without a diffuser: the light comes straight out of the bulbs and the rendering stays sharp, a little industrial. Glass models soften the light and hide the sources, at the cost of more delicate care.
IP20: what it allows in terms of room.
IP20 covers dry rooms: living room, bedroom, kitchen, office, hallway and entrance. In a wet zone, around a bath or shower, a higher rating is required. A light suitable for wet rooms remains the only safe option.
Original ceiling lamp: how to move beyond the classic ceiling lamp?
Moving beyond the classic ceiling lamp comes down to length, number of points and combining finishes: a 117 cm black and chrome fixture, a 25 cm four-point round or a model in coloured tones radically change the look. Art Nouveau and wicker are not part of this collection.
Art Nouveau ceiling lamp: which collections to turn to?
This selection does not offer Art Nouveau style: the styles listed are modern, minimalist and industrial, in steel and metal. For curves and more decorative materials, look at the contemporary ceiling lamps, which work the shapes more.
Wicker ceiling lamp: the metal and chrome alternative.
Wicker does not appear in the collection, whose fixtures are in steel or metal. To warm up a chrome ceiling lamp, pair it with wood and textiles in the room. The Hiro 4 lights black and chrome plays on the contrast of the two tones, to be completed with the gold finishes if you want more warmth.
Chrome, black or white: coordinating and caring for your ceiling lamp?
Chrome coordinates with black for a graphic look and with white to stay discreet on the ceiling; grey and beige soften the whole. For care, a soft cloth is enough: the fixtures are in steel or metal, with silver, black, white, grey or beige finishes.
Chrome and black or chrome and white ceiling lamp?
Black and chrome answer each other on a two-tone fixture and draw a sharp line on a white ceiling. White, for its part, fades away and lets the room speak. The black versions and the fixtures in metal ceiling lamp give both directions.
Cleaning a steel ceiling lamp without dulling it.
A soft microfibre cloth is enough on steel: abrasive products scratch the silver finish and lose the shine. Cut the power before any work on a bulb, and change the GU10 one by one. The warranty is specified according to the model in the collection.
Before ordering, check the actual dimensions: they avoid a return and compare directly with the area to be lit.
| Model | Dimensions | Shape | Socket | Finishes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NERO 6 | W 5 x D 117 x H 18 cm | Linear tube | GU10 | Black, silver, gold |
| NERO 3 | W 5 x D 45 x H 18 cm | Linear tube | GU10 | Black, silver, gold |
| LOOPEZ | Ø 6 x H 29 cm | Compact vertical | GU10 | Black, silver, copper |
| RING 6L | W 6 x D 118 x H 16 cm | 6-point tube | GU10 | White, black, grey, silver, beige and coloured tones |
| RING 4 | Ø 25 x H 16 cm | 4-point round | GU10 | White, black, grey, silver |

Every Designix order is covered by secure payment, tracked delivery, returns and reachable customer service. For a 117 cm long living room, the NERO 6 fixture is not the widest in the selection: the RING 6L measures 118 cm; for a hallway, aim for six points. You will find the whole catalogue in all our lights, including this ceiling-mounted lighting.
Frequently asked questions about the chrome ceiling lamp
LED ceiling lamp: what should you check before buying?
First check the socket, here GU10: it determines the LED bulbs you can buy and replace. Then look at the number of light points, the length of the fixture, the IP20 rating that limits use to dry indoor spaces, and the warranty, from two to five years depending on the model.
Large living room ceiling lamp: which length to choose?
For a large living room, linear fixtures from 80 cm to 118 cm cover a large table or a wide volume, while a 25 cm round model suits a shorter room. Match the length of the ceiling lamp to that of the area to be lit, not to the entire room.
Chrome bathroom ceiling lamp: is it possible?
The ceiling lamps in this collection are rated IP20, a rating intended for dry rooms: they are therefore not intended for a bathroom. For a wet room, choose a light with a higher protection rating, such as those gathered in our selection of bathroom ceiling lamps.
Chrome and glass ceiling lamp: what difference?
Here, the fixtures are in steel or metal with a silver, black or white finish, without a glass diffuser. A glass version softens the light and hides the bulbs; the metal version shows the light points and gives a sharper, more industrial rendering.
Modern kitchen ceiling lamp: which model to choose?
In a modern kitchen, a linear fixture of 45 to 80 cm above the worktop or island stays discreet, in white or chrome depending on the fronts. Black and chrome finishes stand out more, especially paired with a dark worktop.
