Which wall light above a bed?
Choose a warm light, in warm white 2700 to 3500 K, and two wall lights on either side of the bed frame rather than a single one in the centre. Bedside wall light: adapting the format to the room
The format follows the available wall width. A compact model of 16 to 30 cm works when the bedside table stays in place; longer models, from 50 to 61 cm, fill a bare wall section above a low piece of furniture. A switch placed on the body of the wall light or on the cable means you do not have to get up to turn it off. Some models in the selection accept a dimmer, to be checked sheet by sheet when choosing. Where to place a bedside wall light?
On each side of the bed frame, above the bedside table or in its place, at shoulder height when seated in bed. Aim the beam towards the book or the wall, never towards the face, and keep the switch or dimmer within reach without stretching.
At what height should a bedside wall light be installed?
The usual reference is the shoulder height of a seated person, around 90 to 110 cm from the floor depending on the height of the mattress and the bed frame. Keep a clearance between the top of the mattress and the bottom of the wall light, so you do not bump into it when sitting down. A pair is installed at the same height on both sides.
Bunk bed wall light: two beds, two light points
Each level keeps its own source, fixed to the post or the side wall, with a switch accessible from each bunk. A small format and a G4 or G9 socket are enough to read without waking the other person. The compact ball shapes work well in a small space.
Replacing the bedside lamp with a wall light

In the living room, the wall light replaces the console lamp and illuminates a painting or a corner without taking up floor space. In a hallway or on a staircase, choose vertical shapes or adjustable spotlights in warm or neutral white, fixed high enough to mark the way without glare.
