What light does a track spot light give?
A track spot light projects directed light, far more contrasted than a ceiling light that illuminates flatly: each head draws a cone on the target surface. Warm white or neutral white: how to decide?
Warm white makes woodwork and fabrics feel warmer, neutral white renders the colours of a worktop or a dressing room more faithfully. As a rule, warm is reserved for relaxing rooms and neutral for working rooms.

What length and how many heads to plan?
In the collection, supports range from about 11.6 cm to 60 cm, with power from 6 to 25 W depending on the model. For a worktop, start with one spot every 50 to 70 cm; in a hallway, one point every 1.5 to 2 m is often enough. The other home lights are chosen on the same spacing logic.
Where to install a track spot light in the home?
Place it where the light must fall vertically: above a worktop, along a splashback, in front of a shelf or in a hallway. Kitchen and living room come first among the rooms covered by this collection, followed by the hallway, entrance and dressing room, all in dry indoor areas.
Kitchen: lighting the worktop without cast shadow
As a rule, allow 60 to 75 cm between the worktop and the light, and shift the line slightly forward so your hand does not cast a shadow on the chopping. Living room, hallway and dressing room: highlight rather than light flatly
In a living room, an adjustable track spot light aims light at a bookcase, a painting or a low unit and leaves the rest of the room in soft shadow. How to choose your LED track spot light?
Look first at the socket: models with integrated LED need no bulb and show 6, 10, 12, 16, 20 or 25 W, while spotlights with an E27 or GU10 socket are chosen with the bulb you will screw in, up to 15 W in E27 and 5 W in GU10 depending on the model.
Integrated LED, E27 or GU10: what it changes

Direction, dimmer and protection rating
An adjustable spot is set after installation: check that the ball joint holds its position. All models in this selection are IP20, so reserved for dry air. Black or white track spot light: which finish to choose?
Black dominates the collection and disappears on a dark ceiling or an exposed support, while white blends into a ceiling painted the same shade and lightens a small space. Gold, rarer, serves as a detail in a contemporary interior, and green punctuates a bright room.
Black and gold: the spot as a decorative element
The Spot Bergen combines steel and plastic in black or gold, the Spot Net comes in black, green and gold, and the black spots of the Larc family play on an aluminium profile 3.6 cm in diameter. A black track spot light pairs well with an exposed rail, a dark worktop or a stainless steel hood.
White and minimalism: disappearing into the ceiling

Is a track spot light suitable for a bathroom?
Not in areas exposed to splashes: the models in this collection are IP20, a rating intended for dry air. A track spot light is therefore limited to a hallway, an entrance or a dry room. Near a shower or a washbasin, you need a bathroom spot rated IP65 or IP44 depending on the distance to water.
IP20, IP44, IP65: read the rating before buying
The first digit protects against solids, the second against water. IP20 means no splash is allowed, IP44 covers splashes, IP65 resists jets. As a rule, at least IPX4 is required around the washbasin and a higher rating in the shower volume. A bathroom spot is therefore chosen on this rating before the finish.
Bathroom spot: why recessed models dominate near water

How to install and maintain a track spot light?
Switch off the power at the circuit breaker, fix the support to the ceiling or wall depending on the model, then adjust the heads once the power is back on. As a rule, allow 60 to 75 cm between a worktop and the light, and 1.5 to 2 m between two points in a circulation area.
Height and spacing: avoiding light patches
A track too close to the surface creates a burning point, too far it leaves dark areas. Aim for a slight overlap between two cones, tilting the heads forward rather than vertically. A Basis Spot black in neutral white over a worktop and a 16 W Points Spot black above an island are both adjusted after installation.
Cleaning and lifespan
A soft dry cloth is enough on aluminium and steel; avoid abrasive products on black and gold finishes. Models with integrated LED have no bulb to replace, and the manufacturer warranty runs from two to five years depending on the model. A Spot Horta with a GU10 socket simply needs a new bulb if it fails.
