How to create a gallery wall: a step-by-step guide

A gallery wall is one of the most personal ways to decorate an interior. Family photos, illustrations, posters, watercolors: every frame tells a piece of your story. Here is how to create your own without a misstep.

Step 1: choose a theme or a common thread

A successful gallery wall is not a random patchwork. There is always a link between the elements: a common color palette, a recurring photographic style, a theme (travel, nature, abstract). This common thread creates coherence within diversity.

You can also play with frame unity. Frames that are all identical in natural oak give an orderly look, even with very different contents. Mismatched frames in black, white, and wood create a more relaxed vibe.

Step 2: plan the layout
