The standard seat height is 45 cm, suitable for 75 cm tables. Check that your thighs fit comfortably under the table: allow 25-30 cm between the seat and the underside of the tabletop.
With or without armrests
Armrests add comfort for long meals and evenings that linger. But they require more space and must fit under the table. Check the dimensions before buying. A compromise: chairs with armrests at the head of the table and simple chairs on the sides.

The number of daily seats at the table plus 2 in reserve. For a table of 6, plan for 8 chairs. The extra chairs can be used elsewhere in the house.
How do you maintain fabric chairs?
Treat the fabric with a textile water-repellent spray upon purchase. Vacuum regularly. For stains, a specific fabric cleaner or a mixture of water and Marseille soap is enough.
